Rule-1:
Sentence এ (Always, often, how often, very often, never, occasionally,
usually, generally, frequently, regularly, every + time (day/
week/morning), sometimes, on mondays, twice, in summer etc.)
থাকনল Present Indefinite Tense হয়। যেমন:
I) He ____ dresses formally to work but he always _____.

Sentence এ (now, right now, today, this year, this week, at present, at

Rule-3:
Sentence এ just, already, lately, recently, yet, so far, for a long time,

Rule-4: Sentence এ yesterday, last+ time (night, year, week, month),

ago, for a while, it is time, it is high time, wish, long since, once, etc.
থাকনল Past Indefinite Tense হয়। যেমন:

Rule-5:
Modal verbs (may, might etc), may as well, might as well, rather than,
had better, would rather, able to, used to, have to, has to, had to, will
have to, ought to, am to, is to, are to, was to, were to, এনের পনর main
verb এর simple form হয়। যেমন:

Rule-7:
Since, As if/ As though এর আনের অংশ্টি েব্বে present tense হয়, োহনল পনরর
অংশ্টি past indefinite tense হনব (As if/ As though এর যেনে be verb সবসময়
were হয়) এবং আনের অংশ্টি েব্বে past indefinite tense হয়, োহনল পনরর অংশ্টি
past perfect tense হনব। যেমন:
I) It has been over three centuries Shahjahan the Tajmahal.

Rule-8:
FOR/ SINCE: For এর পর সংখ্যা সময় বযবহৃে হয়। ব্বকন্তু since এর পনর শুধু সময় উনেখ্
থানক, সংখ্যা থানকনা। sentence এর যশ্নে For অথবা Since থাকনল (verb) has
been/ have been + ing (না থাকনল, have/has+ v.pp হনব) আবার has been/
have been+ ing থাকনল sentence এর যশ্নে For/ Since হনব। যেমন:

b. He has been absent since Friday.
c. He is absent since Friday.

continuous tense- এ হয়।

PREFER/ WOULD RATHER: Prefer এর পর দুটি verb থাকনল উভয়টি ing েু ক্ত হয়
এবং verb দুটির মানঝ "to" বযবহৃে হয়। আর would rather এরপর verb এর base
form বযবহৃে হয়। (would rather..........than; prefer.............to হয়) যেমন:

অেীে কানল যকান কাজ ব্বকিু সময় চ্লব্বিল এবং এমন সময় অনয যকান কাজ হঠাৎ সংঘটিে
হয়, এমন যেনএ চ্লমান কাজটি past continuous tense হয় এবং অনয কাজটি (হঠাৎ
সংঘটিে বা অনপোকৃে কম স্থায়ী) past indefinite tense হয়। যেমন:

(1) sub-ordinate clause েব্বে universal truth, habitual action, scientific

(ii) sub-ordinate clause েব্বে than, as well as, as, as to, so well, so well
as, who which িারা শুরু হয়, েনব (principal clause past tense হনলও) sub-
ordinate clause টি ে যকান tense হনে পানর।

(iii) subjunctive verb past form [suggest, insist, require etc.] +that +
subject+ verb in simple form. যেমন:

noun + singular verb বযবহৃে হনব। যেমন:

দুটি ব্বজব্বননসর মানঝ েুলনা করার যেনে negative sentence এ as.........as এবং

(iii) Whose Noun/ Noun Phrase এর পূ নবত বনস এর সানথ মাব্বলকানা (Possess)-র
সম্পকত স্থাপন কনর।

যে সব শ্নের পনর Passive এ by বযবহৃে হয় না
1. Know verb এরপর to বনস

2. যকাননা বযব্বক্তর উপর ব্ববরক্ত বু ঝানে annoyed with ব্বকন্তু বস্তু বা কানজর উপর ব্ববরক্ত
যবাঝানে annoyed at বনস।
Active: They annoyed us.
Passive: We were annoyed with them.

Active: The sound annoyed us.

Passive: We were annoyed at the sound.

3. Seize (ধরা) এরপর with বযবহৃে হয়

Active: The panic seized the writer.

Passive: The writer was seized with the panic.
