The line graph displays the daily intake of three different kinds of spreads per person in a country
over a period of 26 years starting from 1981 to 2007.
As can be seen from the graph, all three spreads experienced a significant decline. In addition,
butter was the most used spread in average, while margarin and low fat & reduced spreads were
less consumed day-to-day.
At the beginning of the period, there was nearly 100 grams of margarine that a person had
consumed per day, which fluctuated widely then levelled off. A growth was observed in low fat
& reduced spreads, initially the least consumed, climbing sharply compared to margarine by
2007. In 1981, butter was the most popular spread, with consumption at maximum 140 grams.
Low fat spreads were negligible. Over the next two decades, butter consumption decreased
sharply, while margarine fluctuated, fell steadily in 1986 before recovering to around 100 grams
in 1991 and remaining relatively stable. The consumption of low fat spreads, however, began to
increase significantly from 1996, overtaking butter in 2001 and approaching margarine levels by
2007.

Topic 1
The lines graph displays information about the grams spread that people of various countries
utilization every year.
Although Margarine and Butter both started production in 1981, Butter consumption is higher
but has a decreasing trend. On the contrary, Margarine consumption is not high but has a slight
increasing trend. In particular, Low fat & reduced spread started production later from 1996 but
has a significantly increasing trend and is also the spread with the highest consumer bias.
Since 1981, Butter consumption has been on an upward trend from 140 grams to 160 grams. In
contrast, Margarine has been on a downward trend with consumption decreasing from 100 grams
to 80 grams. However, both have had significant trend changes since 1986. Butter has shown a
significant decline and stopped at 50 grams consumption. Disparity, Margarine has increased
gradually then flattened and finally decreased slowly.
Low fat & reduced spread was first produced in 1996. However, consumption increased
significantly, from 0 grams to 80 grams in just five years. Moreover, since 2001, Low fat &
reduced spread has shown a slight downward trend.

Topic 2
The line graph provides information about how many new cases of three diseases over the
period from 1991 to 2004 in the United Kingdom.
Overall, the graph implies that Measles and Rubella were mainly controlled, resulting in a
strong declined by the end of the period, while Mumps experienced an upward trend in later
years.
To begin, Measles cases started at around 12,000 in 1991 and remained relatively stable until
1994. Compared to Measles, Rubella followed similar trends, with a significant decrease in
cases, all remaining below 5 thousands after 1997. Rubella cases collapsed steadily after 1996,
leveling off at around 3,000 to 4,000 cases from 1999 to 2004. Mumps remained low until a
sudden dramatic rise in 2003-2004, contrasting with the downward trends of Measles and
Rubella, which occurred from 2003 to 2004, lasting at maximum 20,000 cases. The Measles in
1994 was the highest number of cases for any disease during the period, except for the Mumps
surge in 2004.

Topic 2
The lines graph displays information about the types of diseases with high spreading ability that
patients in the UK suffer following the year.
All three diseases started in 1991 and Measles was the most common disease in the beginning
but has since decreased significantly. Rubella has fluctuated but is decreasing. Mumps is the
opposite of the first two diseases. There were not many cases of this infectious disease for
thirteen years but the number of cases has increased gradually since 2003 reaching 20 thousands
patients.
From 1991 to 1997, Measles and Rubella had the highest number of patients during that period,
but Measles had the highest number of patients with nearly 25 thousand patients. Rubella during
this period had a tendency to fluctuate strongly but decreased. Since 1997, both diseases have
had a decreasing trend.
From 1991 to 2003, Mumps disease tended to decrease and flatten, the number of patients
affected did not exceed 5 thousand patients. However, from 2003, Mumps disease tended to
increase suddenly and the number of people affected reached more than 20 thousand patients.
