I- GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
Program Title Brigada Eskwela 2024 Implementation Program
Brigada Eskwela is a program launched by the Department of Education that brings together teachers,
parents, and community members before the start of the school year to prepare public schools for the
upcoming school year. Volunteers conduct minor repairs, painting, and cleaning during this week-long
event.
Program Description
“Bayanihan” is one of the core essences of the Filipino culture where the concept of the Brigada
Eskwela has rooted. Bayanihan (communal unity) or concerted solidarity is the Filipino spirit of helping
one another as a community in achieving a certain task without expecting or asking for anything in
return.
Duration July 22-27, 2024
It focuses mainly in preparing the facilities of the school for the opening of classes, including minor
Delivery Mode repairing of school buildings, repainting, cleaning up, refurbishing of furniture and fixtures, and similar
activities.

Theme Brigada Eskwela’24 “Bayanihan Para sa Matatag na Paaralan”
Rationale With the theme “Bayanihan sa Paaralan”, the Brigada Eskwela emphasizes the country's collective
efforts in promoting collaboration for safe living and addressing social issues and concerns in schools,
at homes, and in the community.

III- MONITORING AND EVALUATION


 Fielding of the Technical and Documentation members to monitor the activities

Aside from the usual activities conducted in the past Brigada Eskwela, School Heads must ensure the following among other related
initiatives:
a. Coordinate with the Local Government Units (LGUs) or other non-government organizations (NGOs) and volunteers to clean and disinfect
school buildings, classrooms, and other school facilities.
b. Engage partners to raise the availability of the following items in school during BRIGADA ESKWELA:
Ensure that psychological first aid or other psychological intervention and debriefing are conducted in partnership with stakeholders during the
implementation of Brigada Eskwela.
Conduct with the concerned DepEd units on the possible implementation of Gulayan sa Tahanan or Urban Vegetable Gardening at Home as part
of Brigada Eskwela and School-Family Community partnerships to promote sustainable food supply at homes, as well as on communicating to
stakeholders on how they can support the school emergency and contingency to ensure resiliency.
