Epigraph, Damascus Analysis
Epigraph, Damascus was painted by Julie Mehretu (American, born Ethiopia, 1970) and portrays the
city of Damascus, capital of Syria. This city s history of conflict dates back to Ramesses II in the
13th century BCE and still continues today. Known as the oldest continually inhabited city on the
face of the earth, this city is currently under threat. As the Syrian civil warcontinues, this ancient city
is in danger of being wiped out. Syriais still shown today on news and each covered how the
residents are faring under the constant fighting between countries. Though it is sad to say, Syria s
civil war is still ongoing and is not showing any sign of ending. The artwork symbolizes the chaotic
history that is shown in the city of Damascus. As
What Is The View That In Domestic Policy Wolsey Was...
Do you agree with the view that in domestic policy, Wolsey was successful as the king s chief
minister?
When answering this essay I am going to measure Wolsey s success on his ability to please Henry.
The different categories which I am judging Wolsey s success are; finance, religion, law and order,
parliament and government and admin.
The first domestic policy category I am going to look at is government and admin. One of the
successful acts that Wolsey achieved in this category was centralising the local government. Doing
this brought things into the central control of the king and restored his power. Wolsey also began to
break up local magnate s power, this then transferred the more power over to Henry rather than the
magnates. Both these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the church is not a huge aspect within Wolsey s acts of chief minister, he still had to
make sure Henry took care of people religiously also. Wolsey allowed Henry to gain some control
of the church long before the break with Rome, this pleased Henry and was a success as his chief
minister. However, the church was in need of reform and although Wolsey talked about doing it
he never did, Wolsey was a failure in the aspect of Church and Religion as he did nothing, which
to the people made it look like Henry did nothing also. Although it may look like Henry did
nothing, most of the blame was on Wolsey. Wolsey allowed Henry to gain some control and helped
with his title of defender of the faith therefore I think that religion was a

Queen St nursery plan activities and exercises instantly according to the child s wants and needs at
that time. They take every day as it comes and plan directly around whatever the children show
interest and enjoyment in. However, the nursery do have floor books situated at the entrance where
there are experiences and outcomes that the children have achieved in the different areas of the
nursery, containing photos and evidence of what they completed. This supports responsive planning
and allows the Early Years Workers to plan approproate next steps accordingly. ***
Due to there being a high number of staff and Early Years Officers within the nursery, multiple
children can be attended to at the same time. Members of staff will greet the children when they
first come in individually, and will then ask them which area they would like to play at within the
nursery. If a child responds with an activity of some sort, then the staff member will take the child
instantly to that area and help them set it up and will stay with them whilst they complete the
task***. Although the children have a large amount of free choice and play within the day, there is a
set structure of events and times that the children are instructed to come together and part take in.
(See Appendix 1) These specific times are identified by the children

2. Four Market Analysis
External Labor Markets
Although the health care market is strong for medical workers who are in high demand, it can be a
challenge for hospitals that are struggling to find qualified personnel, especially in the crowded
medical area of Boston. BWH proactively challenges the high demand by offering a comprehensive
flexible benefit program and competitive compensation. Salaries vary from position to position, but
the hospital ensures they are always competitive with similar positions in other Boston area
hospitals, and in many cases, they exceed those of area hospitals. The hospital uses strong
advertising and media campaigns and looks to other labor markets such as educational programs,
workers from other industries, and former employees.
Internal Labor Markets
BWH works to motivate its employees by making collaboration and teamwork the norm. While at
work, physicians, nurses, technicians, staff and management often times form a close knit bond,
based on mutual respect and devotion to patient care. This altruistic environment is what helps keep
employees that are interested in the field of healthcare devoted and passionate about their
profession. BWH also offers a wide array of benefits, including a professional development program
and a commitment to work/life balance. The hospital
West Side Story Symbolism
To begin with, the scenography mimics the aspects of Upper West Side New York during the 1950
s to allow the audience to understand the setting of play. Most of the sets depict an urban setting in
which the audience can clearly see that the story takes place in a well developed city. As for the
representation and perception of the stage, most sets were seen as abstract Some of the sets created
entailed Doc s restaurant, The Playground, and Statue of Liberty. Furthermore, the relationship
between the audiencespace and performers space were definitely separate: meaning the audience
were strictly viewing the playwhile the performers were telling a story. Interestingly, the play at
times had an amber lighting dispersed across the set to give off a warm tone or vibe symbolizing
good feelings or nice moment. Some parts of the play were set in a dimmer background enticing
that the play at times was very serious. In addition, the electronic used in IVC s West Side Story
production amplified or added more symbolism to the play. The hearing of a siren suggested that
the police were coming. During fight scenes, the auditory sound of a punch suggested that a
someone literally got punched. When a building was lit with light and the surroundings were dark,
it suggests that the current day of time was night time. During the rumble, the color red was shined
specifically on Riff and Bernardo to symbolize that they were bleeding out and had died. Overall,
the props in the play
Separation Of Powers Of Power

Separation of Powers
Separation of Powers is a system in which power is divided between three branches of
government. These branches consist of Legislative (Congress), Executive (President), and
Judiciary (Supreme Court). Each one of the branches is given a duty to fulfill. If one branch doesn
t fulfill its duties, the other branches can force that branch to fulfill it. There is another system that
helps these branches of government to check on each other and limit each other s powers. It is
called Checks and Balances. It helps each branch to limit the power of the other. Each branch has
specific duties. The Legislative branch is made to create or repeal laws. The Executive branch
executes and enforces the law and the Judiciary branch interprets the laws. The Separation of Powers
prevents the power going to one branch. The system prevents the abuse of the power given to each
of the branches. The system was used to limit the power of one branch for a reason, now it is used
to make obstacles for bills that will help the citizens of this country.
The Separation of Powers and Checks and Balances can be seen in action, when a new bill is
getting purposed, treaty is being made and when declaring the war against the foreign nation. When
a bill get purposed to become a law, it shows all three branches fulfilling their duties. The bill goes
through various phases before becoming a law. For instance, if Congress comes up
Delta Airline s Tense Relationship with Its Employees
Compensations and Benefits The key issue for compensation and benefit for Delta s airline was
labor expense through salary and wages for their employees. These issues raise for the increase in
taxes and security fees, rising prices of fuel, labor management mistakes, and large executive
perks. As a result Delta announced that they might have to file for bankruptcy protection if they
did not cut salaries by 32.5%. As a result of this increase in labor cost, Delta was forced to lay off
11,000 employees, the change of many employees from full time to part time and outsourcing a
great deal of their work. The organization s relationship with employees has been tense because of
substantial layoffs, bankruptcy proof pension trusts and executive bonuses which were not tied to
performance. Delta should implement a no furlough policy similar to Southwest, which has never
permanently laid off an employee. Also, employees need to become more educated about the
economics of the industry so they can understand why certain benefits are been taken away.
Bonuses should be based solely on performance. Delta should propose a cut of 20% across the
board for all pilots effective immediately. Though Delta s pilots union may be hesitant to accept
these reductions, Delta should also offer its pilots a 3% increase in profit sharing packages, an
additional signing bonus of 100 shares of company stock and maybe a seat on the board of directors
for their top performing pilots who stays with the
Analysis Of Our Secret By Susan Griffin
A particular question that is seldom pondered over and yet is capable of carrying so many doubts
within it: who are we? Who are we as a society who can do the things we do? Who are we who can
suffer from them? Award winning poet and essayist Susan Griffin confronts these distinct questions
in her work titled, Our Secret . Griffin believes that a basic understanding of the things that play a
part in the growth of an individual is essential to understanding who we are. The way a childis raised
dictates how that child is going to become later on in life. One of the distinct highlights of Griffin s
essay was her use of describing the progress of the V1 rockets in World War II. Griffin studies the
aspects of human nature by using these missiledevelopments as a metaphor to symbolize the raising
of children and the factors that can influence a growing individual. One of the prime figures that
Griffin uses pertaining to these growing individuals was Heinrich Himmler, leader of the Nazi secret
police. Griffin uses Himmler as an example to demonstrate how big of a role a parental figure can
play in the development of a person.
The missile is guided by a programmed mechanism. There is no electronic device that can be
jammed. Once it is fired it cannot stop. As human beings, one of mankind s greatest talents is the
ability to absorb things from his or her surroundings as he or she continues to age. Children in
particular are easily influenced by factors that can shape their personality, whether if it s by the
environment, parental figures or friends. There is a common saying that a child does not know
racism or hate at birth; the child is only taught it. If a child grows up to become a racist, it s safe to
assume that the cause was from the influence of the guardians surrounding that child. In this text, the
missiles are the representation of young children guided by a programmed mechanism that is
gradually shaping his or her personalities as he or she grows older. What an individual grows up to
become depends majorly on the mechanism that is raising them.
The missile carries a warhead weighing 1,870 pounds. It has three different fuses to insure
detonation. It is easy for society to overlook the crushing
Oedipus And Hamlet Essay
Oedipus Rex by Sophocles and Hamlet by Shakespeare contain the elements of a tragedy. Both of
the tragedies have strikingly different plots and characters. In literature, tragedy is most likely
about a person and the horrible things that happen to them during their life in a play or story. There
are many reasons why both of these characters are classified as tragic figures. First, Oedipus fate
was determined from birth, and nobody knew Hamlets fate. Second, Oedipus s parents sent him off
to be killed, and Hamlet s father was killed by his brother, Claudius. The events in the end are
done by the protagonist in both plays. The downfall of this is caused by Oedipus and Hamlet s
inability to effectively cope with his own tragic flaw. These plays have a major difference that
Hamlet is a tragedyof inaction and Oedipus is a tragedy of action. There are many other examples
like, they had different traits and motivation. Oedipus, achieved to killhis father to get his role as
King, while Hamlet wanted to kill his uncle because of this relationship he has with his mother,
making him feel traded and act out as revenge. They had a different tragic flaw. Oedipus searched
for who his real parents actually were, just to find out he married his mother. In Hamlet, he
always wondered why his father died, so he went to go see his ghost. While there he found out
that Claudius killed him. Lastly, they had a different noble birth. Oedipus was born into a royal
family, making him a king. He is king by saving the city of Thebes. Oedipus earned the trust of his
people, who looked up to him. Hamlet was only the prince of Denmark, almost King. Both of
these plays are morbidly and fatally impulsive. Each of them begin their tragic flaw with an
unpremeditated murder. Hamlet s general impulsiveness plays a larger role in Hamlet than it does
Oedipus . They both quickly reasoned with themselves without taking time to stop and think, but
Hamlet relies on this method for mostly all of his decision making. Hamlet realizes this when he
says, Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift As meditation or the thoughts of love, May
sweep to my revenge. (Page 1122), meaning that he acts too fast, and does not think until after the
act is
