Economic Impacts of Beijing Olympic Essay
Economic Impacts of Beijing Olympic
Bird Nest and Water Cube:
We can all recall the opening of Beijing Olympic in Bird Nest where the gorgeous fireworks and
fantastic shows were shown. As well as the Water Cube, an exquisite designed water stadium, which
all the water competitions were hosted. After the 2008 Beijing Olympic, those multibillions
infrastructures were put into use only a few times and for most of the time, they were empty. Some
people believe the construction of those infrastructures was a one time deal and will never meet the
return. Some people believe that there is a bigger picture in building the Bird Nest and Water Cube
and the return for the Beijing Olympic is a lot more time what China put in for the 2008 Olympic ...

Positive Economic Impacts: After the Beijing Olympic game in 2008, many people raise the
questions of whether spending $41 billion in hosting the game bring benefits to China s economic
or not. According to the nature of economic, the economic impacts of the Olympic game are hard to
measure and has became a major debating topic for many economic scholars. However, one thing
that we are sure off is that the Olympic game did tie on to many economic measures such as,
employment rate, economic growth rate, inflation rate and tourism growth rate. Also, as we know
from the economic standpoint, fiscal and monetary policies are inevitable measures in hosting mega
event like the Beijing Olympic game.
A pre economic study by two Chinese economists Zhang Yaxiong and Zhao Kun addressed that the
Olympic game has brought many Olympic related investments and consumptions to Beijing,
surrounding cities and the entire country. According to their models, the estimated growth rate of
Beijing prior the Olympic game from 2002 to 2007 has increased 2.02%, the surrounding areas
growth rate raise 0.23% and overall an 0.09% increase for the entire country. We can tell from these
numbers that the impacts of pre Beijing Olympic game are not significant in the measure of positive
impacts for the China s economic over the duration of 5 years.
Lets take a look at the economic impact of Beijing Olympic game after the event. According to the
article of Olympics Help Fuel Beijing s economics
The Purpose Of Government
What is the Purpose of Government?
Government, the thing that makes our lives function everyday has countless roles they play in
running a country. Some of these roles consist of listening to the citizens, providing safety and
controlling the money aspect of the country. The purpose of government is to provide safety, control
the money of the country and listen to the citizens because throughout history it has been proven that
they have been the most crucial and effective parts of a government.
Throughout history the way of government has been perceived very differently, from John Locke to
Adolf Hitler everyone has their own opinion of how government should work. John Locke said that
government needs to provide services and offer protections which has been known as the social
contract. (Why Government 1). Another philosopher, Thomas Hobbes also stated that he thought
that one of the government s main purposes was to provide protection for the citizens rights. (Why
Government 2). Adolf Hitler s idea of government on the other hand was way more diverse than any
other philosopher. His idea was to eliminate all Jews and communists from his country (Germany),
then build up a military to try and restore Germany which required him to basically turn Germany
into a dictatorship. (Nazi Germany).
From having a Military to having laws, one of the government s main purposes is to protect and
ultimately keep the country safe. One way the
Dmitri Mendeleev Periodic Table Of Elements
Everything in our universe is made of different combinations of the same 118 elements. Dmitri
Mendeleev created the first widely accepted periodic table of elements. Elements are the purest
substances on earth; they cannot be broken down into any simpler substances. Elements differ from
each other in few simple ways, yet those simple differences change their properties drastically.
Elements are organized in The Periodic Table of Elements. The elements are sorted in groups based
on properties they possess. The discovery of the elements was the most transformative innovation in
modern chemistry.
92 of the 118 elements are naturally occurring. Elements are created in stars during nuclear fusion. In
the high pressure situations stars fuse hydrogen atoms into helium. Helium atoms then fuse to create
beryllium, and so on, until fusion in the star s core has created every element up to iron. Iron is the
last element stars create in their cores. After iron is created in the core, a star s first life ... Show more

Some physical properties of metals include luster, strong ampere, high density, high melting points,
and being very ductile and malleable. Some physical properties of nonmetals include poor luster,
poor ampere, brittle, low density and melting point, and not being very ductile or malleable.
Chemical properties of metals include having electron that are easily lost, and corroding easily.
Chemical properties of nonmetals include easily gaining electrons and are good oxidizing agents.
Metalloids have properties of both metals and nonmetals. There is only one classification of
metalloids, and there are only seven elements within that classification. Within metals there are alkali
metals, alkaline earth metals, lanthanoids, actinoids, transition metals, and post transition metals.
Within nonmetals there are halogens, noble gases, and other nonmetals. All of these are organized

Kingship In Ancient Egypt
Kingship became necessary because they needed someone to please the gods and help keep people
from doing the things the gods disapproved of. There are many similarities between Mahabharata
and the Hymn to the Pharaoh, both see their leader as god like or a god pleaser, both their leaders
help keep their people in position to please the gods. There are difference though, the Mahabharata
talks about how the gods can lose power and get scared by the way their people act and that they
need the king to help them out, the Hymn to the Pharaoh thinks the gods are all powerful all the
time and also believe that their leader is a godand they fear him.

The Colonial Period Essay
The Colonial period is abundant in its source of influential people who help shape present society
through questioning past beliefs. Martin Luther leads the Protestant Reformation. John Calvin
expands on the idea of predestination. The Puritans live strictly by the word of the Bible, and the
Quakers inspire many people to join them in their friendly lifestyle. All of these people contribute
to our society today and brave the face of adversity. Martin Luther, born in 1483, comes from a
poor upbringing. Religious as a boy, Martin Luther earns his wages by singing hymns. He later
enters the Augustinian monastery and becomes a monk. However, he fails to acquire the solace
from this lifestyle as his fellow monks do (Project Gutenberg... Show more content on

In today s society, people continue to start controversial ideas about how they think society should
operate. Madalyn Murray O Hair is comparable to Martin Luther in that they both brought up a
subject that is very contentious. Madalyn Murray O Hair brings atheism out during a time period
where most are strongly fixated in their religious beliefs. However, she gains many followers just as
Martin Luther does.
Although Martin Luther impacts history greatly, people must remember what role John Calvin has to
offer as well. Born in France in 1509, John Calvin is raised as a Roman Catholic by his family.
His family is so devoted to the Roman Catholic Church that his dad aspires for his son to become
a priest (John Calvin Calvin College 1). John Calvin later reads Luther s works and converts to
the faith of the Reformation. He strongly believes that salvation is achieved through faith and
predestination (Cowie 44). In 1537, John Calvin publishes, Institutes of the Christian Religion. In
this book, John Calvin states his beliefs on Christianity. He proposes that God has been veiled by
the devotion of the people to the Virgin Mary and the saints. He also insists in his book that
predestination is how God determines who goes to hell and who goes to heaven. John Calvin
writes, We call predestination, God s eternal degree, by which He determined that He willed to
become of each man.
Environmentalism And Religion
The problem with some environmentalist is putting nature before God. Rich Deem stated that, Many
Christians have reacted against the environmental movement, probably because of the tendency by
many environmentalists not only to protect the earth and its creatures, but to actually worship the
creation instead of the creator (2009). In the Bible, Exodus 20:3 4 say, You must not have any other
god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the
heavens or on the earthor in the sea (NLT). Anything or anybody that is worship or placed before
God is considered an idol. True believing Christians has a problem with environmentalists that
believe the environment is the reason why we have life. The world
The Laws And Regulations Of Canada
Legal There are some laws and regulations in Canada that will directly affect Kohl s. Canada has
been trying to get rid of spam advertising for numerous years now and finally passed an Anti spam
legislation stating that: Your business must have consent to deliver an electronic message to
someone, you must clearly identify your business, and must include an unsubscribe feature. This
may be to disadvantage, but America has similar anti spam laws as well. Ontario specifically has
been trying to make the provinces buildings completely accessible for people with disability. The
laws haven t gone into effect that every business must have some sort of access that complies with
all disability, but there has been laws enforcing business owners... Show more content on

This is a lot higher than many of the stats minimum wages. Although the American dollar is worth
more and they pay less taxes on purchases, Canada still has a fairly high minimum wage in
comparison. Between 1996 and 2013 Political stability in Canada has maintained an average of

Similarities Between Dracula And Modern Day Society
Are there still connections between Bram Stokers famous novel Dracula and modern day society?
In Dracula, Stoker expands on many themes that indeed exist today. Not only does he touch on the
most obvious theme, sex. He expands on gender division and good versus evil. Some say since
times have changed the themes I introduced have changed as well, leaving connections between then
and now irrelevant. However, I feel that although times have changed they still have roots from the
time of the novel to now. In this essay I will expand on the themes of this novel while connecting
them to modern day society, the critical texts I have chosen and will mention later on in the essay
are a good representation of the commonalities between the chill, dark Victorian days in which the
era that Draculawas written in and modern day. Why does Bram Stoker and many authors alike
make vampires out to be voluptuous and sexy? Is it because it brings light to our darkest desires?
Not in the sense that we desire to feed on another humans blood. But in more of a dark and sinful
kind of way. In society back then and now, sex is still kind of weird to talk and be open about.
Although, sex is more accepted nowadays it is still something you usually do not discuss. So I
believe what drew a large crowd in for Draculawas the fact that it went against the norms of society.
For example, the Jonathan Harker describes the encounter with the three sisters as ecstasy (Stoker
42). He said that they had
Essay about How Chritianity Affected People in India
How did Christianity affect the people of India?
Introductory
Religions have been around for many thousands of years. Catholicism is one of the largest
religions in the world. India is a country in Asia, and is a little bigger than Texas, but has over 2
billion people. A 2001 survey showed there to a little over 24 million Christians in India (Christianity
). This topic was appealing to me because I had lived in a boarding school in India from fourth grade
to sixth grade. I had seen the effects of this religion on the people and how they reacted towards
change. I had seen how people adapted to the religion and how people put down the religion turning
to other religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism. I can relate to these people because ... Show more

Background
The British people had been in India since the 18th century, and had enslaved the people, but
finally left in 1947. Throughout this time, the Indian people were being forced to do things that
the English people did not want to do. The Indian people were enslaved by a much more powerful
nation. The main religion of India is Hinduism. This religion is much more complicated than
many other religions, instead of one main god there are many gods. Many things that Indian
people do have been altered to mean other things (mission frontier). There are also people that are
called demi gods, who somewhat have the power of god and are able to use their powers
whenever they want to. An example of this is a man named khans. He had the powers of a god
because he had prayed for a very long time, and had done something else that is not very important.
During this time there was a god by the name of Krishna whose uncle was khans. Khans had
become evil through the lust of power and Krishna had to stop him (Park). This shows just one of
the many beliefs of the Hindu people. Many people had gone to India to show the people what
Christianity has to offer and many people reaped the benefits. According to one Indian resident,
many of the people that the Christians tried to help were the poor.
