Electoral System And Representation Of Representation,...
The variety of electoral systems currently in place has important political implications for matters of
representation, accountability, and government effectiveness. A given electoral system determines
the extent to which voters have choices in the election process, the way in which parties and
candidates are elected as representatives, the extent and form of political competition, and the means
by which the electorate vote is translated into legislative representation. Adopted by nations
worldwide are two voting systems known as single member plurality and proportional representation
. As a result of the divisions and proportions of representation, two significantly contrasting
dynamics of electoral and governing processes emanate from the practice of these two systems.
This paper will comprise a systematic explanation of proportional representation and single member
plurality for its style of voter choice and its method of electing candidates, followed by a comparison
of the forms of representation offered by and resulting from each system. Single member plurality.
The electoral system most familiar to the democracies of Canada, the United States, and the United
Kingdom is that of single member plurality (SMP). A nation is divided into many districts or
constituencies. Each elector votes for a single candidate for their constituency on a ballot to
represent them in the legislative body. A candidate is elected to office if he or she receives the most
votes in his or her

While these changes did in fact increase sales volume and profits, it damaged the reputation of
Steinway and Sons. Critics and buyers began to challenge the quality of Steinway and Sons
pianos. Over the next 10 years, Henry Steinway is replaced by several CEO s, only to worsen the
calls from critics challenging the quality of Steinway and Sons pianos. In November of 1984, CBS
announced the sale of Steinway and Sons for $50 million to John and Robert Birmingham
(Gourville). Although the Birmingham brothers had no experience in the musical business, they set
out to re establish Steinway and Sons as the maker of the highest quality pianos in the world. CEO
Bruce Stevens set out to assure everyone, customers, employees, and dealers, that the new owners
were highly committed to quality. The company now became refocused and returned to what had
made them so successful. Aside from the newfound focus on quality, the Birmingham brothers
expanded Steinway and Sons product line. It now included the Boston Piano line introduced in
1992, the Steinway Limited Edition pianos introduced 1993, and the Crown Jewel Collection of
Steinway pianos introduced in 1994. Despite these positive changes by Stevens and his team, the
running of Steinway and Sons was once again constrained by limited financial resources. The
company was again sold on April 18, 1995 to Dana Messina and Kyle Kirkland for $100 million
(Gourville). Messina and Kirkland had already acquired the Selmer

ABC Inc. is a small Midwest company priding themselves on their timely service and high quality
products. ABC Inc. is planning to expand in the summer. Boosting their production lines to output
more merchandise can only be done with a larger workforce. For the company to expand ABC turns
to their Operations Supervisor Monica Carrols to help with this change. Monica is a veteran with
ABC and is the most qualified for the task at hand. With Monica heading the operations and Carl
Robins under her management, they should achieve extraordinary things.

Sending two to three trainees a day to the clinic should do the trick. When Carl contacts the trainees,
he personally can receive their application and see to it that the trainees transcripts are on file. With
Joe from technology services scheduling the training room for the whole month of June; Carl could
simply move the Orientation to a different room on the grounds or move the orientation to a
different location all together. CASE STUDY

As for Monica, Carl can contact her with his little problem if he feels it is a little too much for
him to handle. Monica could be a great tool for Carl to use because she is his boss she should
know how to help him with his little dilemma. Also she is his boss she should be kept in the loop.

Conclusion
With Carl acting out some of these solutions. Carl could pull himself out of the trouble he has
stumbled into. With a little more Leadership and guidance from Monica, Carl could be a key player
in the expansion of ABC Inc. Teamwork should take ABC Inc. to new
Symptoms And Treatment Of Acute Pharyngitis
Introduction
According to American Family Physician (2009), acute pharyngitis is a common upper respiratory
tract infection seen in the pediatric population, with most children averaging five sore throats within
a year in the United States. Pharyngitis is the inflammation of the mucosa lining the structure of the
throat including the tonsils, pharynx, uvula, soft palate, and nasopharynx (Burns, Dunn, Brady,
Starr, Blosser, p. 715, 2013). Acute pharyngitis can be caused by both virus and bacteria
microorganisms. About 40 to 60% of acute pharyngitis is of a viral origin (Burns et al., 2013).
Adenovirus is the most common virus associated with acute pharyngitis. Although, there are other
associated viruses, which includes Epstein Barr virus (EBV), cytomegalovirus, influenza virus,
parainfluenza, herpes simplex virus, enterovirus, and human immunodeficiency virus (Burns et al.,
2013). There are some common bacterial organisms that are associated with pharyngitis which
includes Streptococcus pyogens (group A streptococcus), Corynbacterium diphtheria,
Arcanobacterium haemolyticum, Neisseria gonorrhoeare, group C and group G streptocococci, and
Mycoplasma pneumonia (Burns et al., 2013). Streptococcus pyogens accounts for 15 to 30 percent
of pharyngitis in children, with group A beta hemolytic streptococcus being the most common cause
in children (Burns et. al., 2013). The bacteria is mostly transmitted through the respiratory route with
a 2 5day incubation period, which has

HW 1 (1) Draw an indifference curve map with the quantity of pennies are on the horizontal axis
and the quantity of nickels are on the vertical axis. Given the shape of your indifference curve,
how would you describe the typical relationship between these two products ? The two goods are
perfect substitutes for each other. 5pennies are equivalent to a nickel. (2) You and I are in
consumer equilibrium. CDs cost 10 dollars each and cassette tapes only 2 dollars each. I consume
CDs and cassettes. You consume only cassettes. What can you infer about my MRS (marginal rate
of substitution) of CDs and tapes? What about your MRS. Since both individuals are in consumer
equilibrium, for you, the MRS should equal the price ratio since you consume... Show more content

With the income effect you consume less of both goods (since real income has decreased).
Therefore at the new equilibrium, you consume less of X and the amount of consumption of Y
depends on the relative strength of the two effects. (5) Think of a commercial establishment
(department store, coffee shop, gas station, store from which you make common purchases that
is spending your hard earned money) and think through the questions in the previous exercise (4)
as they would apply yourself and to the goods offered by this establishment. That is, take any two
goods or groups of goods from the store you have chosen and re do the questions in (4) as they
would really apply to you and your tastes. Now you are thinking economics and thinking
creatively as well! Consider choice made between having fruit beer(X) or having ice cream(Y)
after dinnerassuming that both are good goods. At the equilibrium, the MRS=price ratio = PX
/PY. At the equilibrium, the indifference curve is tangential to the budget line. MRS =MUX
/MUY =PX/PY, i.e. MUX/PX = MUY/PY Now it is given that X(fruit beer) is craved much more
for relative to Y(ice cream). Hence the indifference curves becomes steeper. That is now you are
willing to give up more amount of Y to have a unit more of X. Alternatively, it can be said that you
need more of Y to leave you indifferent for the same decrease in X. Hence the slope of the
indifference curve, i.e. the marginal rate of substitution increases, i.e. MUx/MUY increases.

Alex theatre is mid sized theatre characterized by Greek and Egyptian touches to its internal
decoration. I was sitting on the middle left side of the theatre, seat Orch T11. The theatre was
completely filled. The event was formal and the audience consisted mostly of old middle to old
aged people. The arrangement of the instruments on the stage was as follows: violins on left side
and in the middle, violas, bass and cellos on the right side, timpani on the far right side, bassoons,
horns, and oboes at the very far middle of the stage and, lastly, trumpets, flutes, and clarinets in the
middle between violins and bassoons, horns, and oboes.
The event started with a unique announcement made by the general manager, Andrea Laguni, where

Its estimated duration was around 22 minutes. The idea for the soloists performance comes from the
chamber concerto form. The solo players performed periodically through the symphony. The piece
included three movements: fast slow fast. In the first movement, the soloists are supported by
background harmonies. In the second movement, the soloists are playing together by taking turns
with the background orchestra playing quietly like whispers. The final movement is more lively and
spirited.
The third piece is Musica Celestis, composed by Aaron Jay Kernis in 1990. Its orchestration
includes strings only. Its duration was 13 minutes. It is filled with warm harmonies. The
beginning is very soft and deep (piano). As it goes along, the pitch and the dynamics become
deeper, louder and more passionate. Scales keep ascending quickly, as if it is reaching a climax,
until a full sudden stop is reached. After that, the music returns slowly and becomes deeper towards
the end. This was my favorite piece in this whole performance. The listener can plunge into deep
affectionate feelings. It was easy to imagine a scenario or a story by listening to its soft well
connected harmonies.
The final piece named Symphony No. 1 in C major, Op.21 composed by Beethoven in 1800. Its
orchestration includes 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, timpani and
strings. Its duration was 25 minutes approximately. The introduction is slow and
Planning For Non Traditional Families
Worldview Position Paper Planning for non traditional families is becoming more of an issue as
the homosexual rights agenda spreads across America. This issue comes from redefining the
family. The legal chaos and moral chaos as well that comes from redefining the family, is also
referred to as the homosexual agenda and has far reaching impacts. Rodney Chrisman, Legal
Chaos: Relating to Redefining the Family (2011). The homosexual agenda has unique concerns
when creating an estate plan. From Christian worldview estate planning for these non traditional
families become a tough issue at first glance but when treated by using instruction from the bible
can become just as easy as estate planning for traditional families by acting with respect and love
as well as to plan accordingly and take note of the state s guidelines for non traditional families.
Estate planning is for everyone not just the wealthy and traditional, and if one does not plan and
have their wishes written down then the state will plan and disburse assets according to each
states laws and statutes. When a client first walks into the office the paralegal must treat him as a
client. For a Christian estate planner this step can become difficult with non traditional families,
however, the bible is very clear on how to treat others. Paralegals should treat non traditional
families with the same love and grace that God has shown to all. All of us are sinners. Honor as a
person made in the image of God. Rodney
Mother Teres A Perfect Example Of A Modern Day Saint
Often people with influential positions misuse their strengths and use it for their own personal
benefit. Many Powerful leaders in our world learn from countless acts of mercy, and dedication to
gain respect. Mother Teresa is a perfect example of a modern day saint. Through her love and
guidance of Jesus, Mother Teresaproves to be real life savior. Mother Teresa is very different from
your typical wealthy world influencer, she doesn t have a lot of money, and works purely to benefit
people in need. Mother Teresa did all her work out of love ,and trying to help and one s life without
having money on the mind. Mother Teresa was a powerful woman with her difficult, time

She also had two siblings what went by the name of Aga Bojaxhiu, Lazar Bojaxhiu. Mother Teresa
won 18 awards for being an amazing humanitarian that many aspired to me, and act like. Being a
humanitarian means she did actions to help out other people before thinking about herself. Most
of her life was fully devoted to helping the poor, the sick, the needy, and the helpless. She grew up
in the Roman Catholic Church and decided to devote her life to God at a very early age. When
she was 18 she joined the Sisters of Loreto to become a missionary in India even though she
needed work hard before hand since she needed to learn English, and the local language where
she would be moving. She taught at schools for many years in India and ended up becoming the
headmistress at a school in eastern Calcutta. She is best known for sticking up for the rights of
the sick and helpless. When She left home for india she never saw her mother, or sister again. Her
father died when she was really young, leaving her mother to take care of her and her two
siblings all by herself. Despite the challenges her family faced, her mother was one of the greatest
people to look up to as she was growing up because she had to sacrifice everything to care for her
family after a tragic incident happened and she still managed to care for others as well. Mother

They hire farmers who grow the ingredients naturally. They promote safety ,quality and diversity.
Then they enhance the products by nutrition and variety.

They have an amazing value chain going on,

While viewing the website, I seen things that wore emotional appeals. They show starving children
getting fed their food. That makes us react because starving children are a big thing right now.
They also show a beautiful farm. They want to let us know that the food they provide is 100% safe
and natural. They even show a beautiful Caucasian family at a dinner table eating dinner. They show
the family laughing. They want to let us know that their food provides smiles and love.

They show logical appeal by saying things on the website like We are family . Logically , the
whole America is one big family. But we are not related. They say this because they want us to
know that they are on our side. They also say We serve the world and We grow together . They
give us a power to the reason. Because they know there are a lot of phony companies selling bad

Evolution of Species
In a world of mass diversity, we are surrounded by endless forms of life, most beautiful, most
wonderful. In the words of Charles Darwin, It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor
the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change . From all the ends of the Earth, there is
a wide spectrum of beings from all the six kingdoms of all living things (Plantae, Animalia, Fungi,
Protista, Eubacteria, Archaebacteria) that are the product of millions of years of evolutionthe greatest
show on earth (David Attenborough). The icon of the Arctic, the polar bearis a tribute to the theories
of evolution by natural selection that have been created by many scientists, specifically; Charles
Darwin, Jean Baptiste Lamarck, Alfred Russel Wallace, Ernst Haekel and Theodosius Dobzhansky.
This report will elaborate on the evolution of the polar bear or Ursus Maritimus over hundreds of
thousands of years.

The analysis of the DNA of a distinct population of brown bears inhabiting Alaska s ABC Islands
(Admiralty, Baranof and Chichagof) approximately 1,450km south of the nearby polar bear
habitat, revealed that the ABC bears were even more closely linked to polar bears genetically
than they were to other brown bears. Polar bears are believed to have diverged from a population of
brown bears that became isolated during a period of glaciation in the Pleistocene. (DeMaster,
Douglas P.; Stirling, Ian (8 May 1981). Ursus Maritimus . Mammalian Species 145 (145): 1 7).
