As you can see replicators played a huge part in creating life. How did replicators lead to the first cell
though? If replicators are meant to replicate and reproduce how did they end up making a living
organism? The first cell is presumed to have arisen by the enclosure of self replicating RNA in a
membrane composed of phospholipids which are the principal components of cell membranes. The
process of replication lead to the first cell which is called LUCA (Last Universal Common
Ancestor). Many scientist believe that all living things on earth originated from an ancient organism
called LUCA. The single celled being likely lived about 4 billion years ago and is thought to have
eventually spawned two distinct groups of unicell life, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A lot of the time when a virus come into contact with the host or as we may know it, the cell, it can
insert its genetic material into its host, literally taking over the host s functions. Some viruses may
remain dormant inside host cells for long periods, causing no obvious change in their host cells, but
once stimulated new viruses are formed, self assemble, and burst out of the host cell, killing the cell
and going on to infect other cells. All this is just a constant battle between the host and cell. Without
a host cell, viruses cannot carry out their life sustaining functions or reproduce. They cannot
synthesize proteins, because they lack ribosomes and must use the ribosomes of their host cells to
translate viral messenger RNA into viral proteins. Viruses cannot generate or store energy, but have
to derive their energy, and all other metabolic functions, from the host cell. Sometimes the virus will
not be in the cell but outside functioning as coat for the protein. Viruses cause a number of diseases
in humans most commonly heard of ones are, smallpox, the common cold, chickenpox, influenza,
shingles, herpes, polio, rabies, ebola, hanta fever, and AIDS are examples of the diseases caused
by viruses. Even some types of cancer but not all. As Sun Tzu wrote in The Art of War, All warfare
is based on deception . He could have easily been describing the ancient battle between virus and host
Traveling Through The Dark And Woodchucks Analysis
Exploring the interaction between animals and humans, the poems Traveling through the Dark and
Woodchucks both analyze this relationship with unique insightfulness. William Stafford, the author
of Traveling through the Dark, depicts an accidental encounter with a dead deer on the road, while
Maxine Kumin, the author of Woodchucks, invites the readers to witness a hateful holocaust against
woodchucks. Although focusing on similar topics with regard to human s reaction towards the death
of animals, Traveling through the Dark and Woodchucks display a solid contrast of their use of
syntax, distinguished by the complexity of their language, and the focus of their main themes,
which reveals the two author s different attitudes on men and the nature. To begin with, Stafford
applies relatively simple grammatical structures and sentence types, while in contrast Kumin uses
complex syntax as the major attribute of his poem. In Traveling through the Dark, Stafford depicts
a scenario involving a man encountering a dead animal in the darkness, as he writes that
Traveling through the dark I found a deer / dead on the edge of the Wilson River road, a simple
statement that directly contextualizes the scenario that the narrator discovered a dead deer on the
road (1 2). In specific, the sentences in the poem lack complicated layers of grammatical structure,
but instead their composition style is close to colloquial, evident by statements like I found a deer
and I dragged

100 Years of JROTC

Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) First came to exist in 1916 as part of the National
Defense act. The Mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to become better citizens and I
know ever since I started JROTC that s just what I have done.

Over the years JROTC has changed and evolved a lot over the years and i am proud to say that i can
be part of an organization like JROTC.

Before 1967 the amount of JROTC programs was limited to 1,200. The amount was increased to
1,600 programs and in 1967 again it was increased to 3,500 units in the year 1992 the limitation on
the number of programs was removed from the law in 2001. The amount of Cadets that are required
at minimum are three hundred in a Battalion.

Women have served the United States Army since 1775. They nursed the sick and wounded, cleaned
and fixed torn clothing, and cooked for the troops on military bases.Campaign services did not exist
in the Army until the 20th century. Women were an invaluable but an essential part of the Army
.Women continue to have a play an important role in ongoing operations and with the selfless
sacrifices they make for their country, we continue to break through gender barriers.

In 2013 the Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta signed a document that lifted the National Defense
Department s ban on women to take part in direct ground combat roles. This decision overturned

How Does Hippocrates Affect The World Today
Hippocrates affecting the world today Hippocrates is a very significant figure in the history of
medicine that is still helping our society today. Hippocrates is known for the oath which physicians
still use today. His ideas have also greatly improved and advanced medicine to help other. Also, his
research of the four humours in the classics period helped other physicians further explore the cures
for sickness/diseases. Hippocrateslived 460 377 BCE, during the Golden Age, (Lawerence,
Hippocratic Galenic Medicine). Everyone knows who Hippocrates is, but I believe there is not one
single thing he is known for because he has done so much. The Hippocratic Oath is extremely
important because doctors today still use it every day in hospitals
Fluoride And Sugar Causes Tooth
Maintaining a healthy smile means proper brushing, flossing, and using fluoride. Fluoride is a
natural mineral that helps to strengthen enamel, reducing the amount of bacteria that attack your
teeth and preventing cavities. Bridgeview Dental Group, located in Kodiak, specializes in family
dental care, including teethwhitening, root canals, and tooth implants. They ve highlighted a few of
the myths that surround fluoride use, debunking them to reveal the truth.

Sugar Causes Tooth Decay: While this myth is partially true, as sugar is a vehicle for bacteria, the
main cause of cavities is because the enamel breaks down and doesn t defend the tooth against
germs. Fluoride promotes stronger enamel, which protects the teeth from those oncoming

It seemed likely that this growth would be replicated by the entire auto industry. However, this
growth did not increase the market position of the auto industry, as the semiconductor industry was
growing faster than the automotive industry market component. Based on these observations, it
became clear that something had to change. The 1980 semiconductor supply situation was
intolerable. Of equal or greater concern, projected growth in electronics requirements appeared to be
unsupportable.

Forward Planning In 1980, the concept of forward planning, business planning, or strategic planning
was not commonly associated with the supply function. Supply management was most often thought
of as a reactive function organized to support manufacturing. Marketing, on the other hand, was more
often thought of as the proactive organization focused on the future of the firm. The failure of
management to recognize the strategic and futuristic implementation of supply management limited
innovative actions when dealing with a firm s supply world. The 1980 situation demanded new
thinking and a new approach to the acquisition of semiconductors. The supply managers involved
had little choice, given the circumstances. Supply had no experience with strategic planning. There
were no guidelines to follow. The responsible supply managers started with a clean piece of paper, a
mission, and a
Self Esteem And Body Image
Everyone has dealt with self image issues at some point in their life. Whether it be for a small
time or for a lifetime, everyone can understand the feeling of disliking their appearance.
Advertising has created the ideal body and one that is not like the average body in today s society.
With technology at people s fingertips every second of the day, advertisingis seen constantly. By
advertising representing only the thin bodies, men and women who don t look like that feel like
they are not acceptable. Self image is deeply rooted in our thoughts and feelings, but representing the
average human in advertising can create a bit of self acceptance. Self esteemis an issue that often
begins in early childhood. Many girls aged seven to twelve are at risk for developing low self
esteem and body image. This puts them at risk for other things, such as eating disorders,
drinking, and bullying (Hartocollis). The girls who are already developing low amounts of self
esteem are already getting plastic surgery and wearing Spanx to prevent being bullied even
further or have a chance of raising their own self esteem (Dockterman 1). The problem is that
young girls are looking for self love in all the wrong places from our parents, friends, and even
strangers (Krauthammer). The thing about self esteem is it contains a very important word: self.
However self esteem is so often influenced by what other people s validation that we forget to
appreciate ourselves. Childhood self esteem
Effects Of Kevin Rudd s Apology In Australia
On February 13th 2008, the Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd, finally apologised on behalf
of Australia, to the Stolen Generation for the terrible events that occurred in 1960 s and 1970 s
where many Aboriginal children had been forced away from their families. This report first shows a
deeper understanding of the event and its outcomes. Then, it looks at what effect it had on
Aboriginal communities. Then it looks at what it has done to help other Indigenous communities
around the globe. Finally, the report shows how the apology was, to a lesser extent, ineffective.
When Kevin Rudd was elected prime minister of Australia in 2007, he promised that he would
apologise to the Aboriginal Community for the events of the Stolen Generation [Australians ... Show

Norman Stewart, a son of a stolen generation member, stated that Actions speak louder than words
and the government can say sorry all they want, but it will never come to close to the pain that his
father went through. The apology had helped Indigenous people heal the scars, but never heal the
pain and hurt , as Stolen Generation member Mary Farrell Hooker said when asked about her

Ysleta Mission for Christianizing the Tigua Indians
Ysleta Mission
Ysleta, Texas
Mission Corpus Christi de la Ysleta, the first mission in Texas, was established by Antonio de
Otermín and Fray Francisco de Ayeta in 1682 and was maintained by Franciscans for christianizing
the Tigua Indians. The Tigua came as refugees and captives with the former Governor of New

The Tigua have faced many challenges in the past three hundred years since arriving in what is
now West Texas, and Mission Ysleta was become the place of meeting and mixing of cultures. The
original mission church at Ysleta del Sur is believed to have been built of mud chinked logs and
willow reeds. Later, Tigua labor built a permanent mission from adobe by 1682. Bishop Salpointe, of
