My worldview is formed by my relationships, challenges and choices I have made, environmental

surroundings and my family influence, all which have impressed on me my views of the world.

In that sense my worldview is very Christian. The Secular Humanist comes in when it comes to the
idea of organized religion. I dislike the pressure organized religion puts on people to attend church
and tithe to the Church to keep it alive . I merely see it as someone playing the middle man to
gain wealth by way of God. I speak to God in my own way I thank him daily each time I walk

As i strolled down my neighborhood coming from the gym, I observed my environment and was
able to notice things i never commonly do, the more i walked the more i was able to smell the
spices and scents that made home smell like home. Some scents smelled so familiar like my own
home and mother s cooking and others unique, as a matter of fact i was able to feel the warmth
from each house like a cozy blanket welcoming me in. I listened and was able to hear the laughter
and joy of family dinners, movie nights, their own unique ways of bonding which embraced the fact
that my community had a diversity of people who had their own way of carrying their roots. Yes,
indeed they had their own ways of bonding which are different yet so similar. I concluded that many
teens who grew up in their community are introduced to their culturebut accumulate the traits of
their environment which makes them question who or what they really are. In addition it is what
shapes up our lives as we grow. How different our cultures are but yet so alike in the community.We

the mind of a socially awkward women named Eleanor, who was ultimately victimized by her mother

Eleanor seeks to fulfill herself by obtaining that motherly bond or that cup of stars which makes
her human an individual identity with a sense of belonging in the world. Hill House then targets
Eleanor s vulnerability, her desperate need for maternal acceptance, and presents itself as a
tempting illusion a mother, someone who loves her, a place where she can belong to her.
Roberta Rubenstein strongly explicates the idea of Hill House representing a parental figure,
which according to her, poses as both an enticing yet devouring mother with a preoedipal love
interest (Rubenstein). Yet, there is a situational irony taking place; Jackson presents the text to us
in a way in which we can see Hill House s evil attributes, while in turn, Eleanor decides to
foolishly ignore them, and the house begins to consume her as a result. And just as Eleanor is
