Relationships In R K Narayan
Human Relationships in R.K.Narayan writing with reference to current scenario To be a good
writer anywhere, you must have roots both in religion and family. I have these things.
R.K.Narayan has depicted himself. Man is a social animal and a man living outside the society is
either a god or a beast . This proverb depicts the importance of society and relations for a human
being. That is why, since the Renaissance Humanism, and for that purpose the study of Humanities
has become a sine qua non for the literary artists. It was established long ago, what a piece of work
is man? and The proper study of mankind is man. All this accounts for an exploration of a connecting
link between two human beings, better expressed in the term, human relationship . In the arena of
Indo Anglian Fiction, R.K. Narayan s contribution is that he is every inch an Indian, and though...

However, as literature is the mirror of society, the term has acquired a literary dimension and
interpretation; in sociology of literature, such a relationship opens a wider panorama, displaying its
significance on domestic, social and cultural levels. Thus in the vicinity of home, there is studied
parents son relationship, brother sister relationship, husband wife relationship, and above all the
relationship between two women, with all its conflict and compromise. On social grounds, the
relationship outside the bonds of family is stressed, such as master labour relationship, teacher
taught relationship, employee employer relationship, buyer seller relationship etc. In Indian context
every type of human relationship is strengthened by addressing the other person in domestic
nomenclature just as Sakkutai Kanchamma Ismail Chacha ; every old woman is addressed as Dadi
by children as a sense of respect and regard. Such an emotional bondage is possible in India

The wording is unique, and not normally used in modern day english which will make people
stop and think about it for a second and make them wonder as to what the campaign means. This
is optimal, because if it gets a person to stop, that not means they are interested, but that they are
also taking the time to read the material provided. In the same sense, it will also create desire, as
the slogan is short enough to stay in a person s head, and simple location reminders will help to
spark desire. For example, after seeing the slogan, if the person sees a sign for Prince Edward
Island, farms, red sand, etc they will think of the slogan, creating a form situational desire. This will
then lead to sparking an interest in planning a vacation to Charlottetown and with enough push, may
create the actual action of booking a trip to visit Charlottetown.

to look abandoned but played music from a gramophone. The house was big with many portraits
and no electricity or light. While exploring the whereabouts of the unknown building Drai comes

knowing that he was taking something that belonged to someone that was very much alive. After
days of holding and admiring the gold pocket watch Drai decides to return it to the place where he
had found it. When coming back to return the watch Drai encounters Marina Blau. Marina... Show

Comparison of Masaccio s The Holy Trinity and Grunewald s The Isenheim Altarpiece

The Holy Trinity by Masaccio was a painting done in approximately 1428. It is a superb example
of Masaccio s use of space and perspective. It consists of two levels of unequal height. Christ is
represented on the top half, in a coffered, barrel vaulted chapel. On one side of him is the Virgin
Mary, and on the other, St. John. Christ himself is supported by God the Father, and the Dove of the
Holy Spirit rests on Christ s halo. In front of the pilasters that enframe the chapel kneel the donors
(husband and wife).
Underneath the altar (a masonry insert in the painted composition) is a tomb. Inside the tomb is a

All of the figures are fully clothed, except for that of Christ himself. He is, however, wearing a robe
around his waist. The figure is
real ; it is a good example of a human body. The rest of the figures, who are clothed, are wearing ro
bes. The drapery contains heavy folds and creases, which increases the effect of shadows. The
human form in its entirety is not seen under the drapery; only a vague representation of it is seen. It
is not at all like the wet drapery of Classica l antiquity.

Massacio places the forms symmetrically in the composition. Each has its own weight and mass,
unlike earlier Renaissance works. The fresco is calm, and creates a sad mood. The mood is
furthered by the darkness of the work, and the heavy sh adows cast.

Grunewald s The Isenheim Altarpiece is an oil painting on wood, completed in 1515. The altar is
composed of a carved wooden shrine with two pairs of movable panels, one directly in back of the
other. The outermost scene is the Crucifixion; on the inside there are two others. On the two sides,
two saints are represented (St. Sebastian on the left, and
St. Anthony on the right). Together, these saints established the theme of disease and healing that is
reinforced by the inner paintin gs. On the

The Development of Religious Archetecture in New Kingdom...
The expansion of the political and economical power during the New kingdom, led to the devotion
of resources to the religious architecture; numerous new temples were constructed while the pre
existing temples were renovated. Individual Pharaohs endeavored to out do their ancestors, not only
in the construction of their own mortuary temples, but also in the establishment of worship temples
of their deities. Kings of this period abandoned the pyramid complexity of the earlier ages and
constructed their tombs in the Valley of the Kings well away from their mortuary temples due to the
increase of robbers; therefore a standardized plan became default for both the worship and mortuary
temples. Because of this movement, I believe that the divine... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The turning point of the New Kingdom s architecture was during the reign of Akhenaten, which took
place during the Amarna period. During this era, the sun god Aten became superior over all the
gods, thus leading to the abolition of the former gods that caused Egypt to have a polytheistic
religion. Traditional temples became neglected, whilst Aten temples of differing sharper construction
emerged. Although none of the temples of this period survived due to the ravages of later kings, yet
(image 7) portrays that the Amarna temples did not follow along the traditional footsteps of previous
architecture, instead they were smaller in size, with sanctuaries open to the sun for the direct
worship of Aten, with no doors and a large number of altars. During the reign that followed, of
Amehotep III and Ramses II, the monotheistic religion returned and many noted changes took place.
The tendency of huge royal statues and funerary temples were a common feature as well as the
gradual yielding to columns with plant motifs and Osiride pillars, completely transformed the
atmosphere of the temples interior. A complete alternation in the interiors of the great halls and
courtyards of the temples resulted from the change of supports, columns. Image 8 portrays the
evolution of papyrus columns, from the 5th dynasty all the way through the 20th. During the 18th

Transition of Mexican Identity

Identity is a peculiar thing. Identity as a person, place or even thing can be somewhat misconstrued
depending on the perspective at which the observation is taking place. The following piece has an
objective of helping formulate the identity of a nation in transition. A nation that has multiple creeds
and cultural diversity but still looking to find its purpose in the world in which it exists in.
Establishing the foundations for its existence through strong leadership, economic know how and
cultural influence Mexico reaches forward to gain confidence through this time of turmoil.

Born into poverty and orphaned at a young age, Juarez left his meager surroundings in search of a
new beginning. At the age of twelve, he left the Zapotec village and travelled by foot forty one
miles to the state capital. Encouraged by his sister and a generous Franciscan layman, Juarez sought
education in the form of seminary school where he found this not to be his calling but headed into
the field of law.

Juarez passionate side was seen in his efforts to advocate for the poor and needy. His intention to
bring about a form of social equality was his main objective. Not notably successful in his legal
campaign to make the lives of the poor easier, the self effacing attorney now realized that only
structural alteration of the system could affect the changes he envisioned, and his liberalism
strengthened. (330)

Juarez relationship with Santa Anna was strained from the beginning. Serving under Santa Anna
during the war with the states, Juarez contempt grew. After the war broke out, Juarez was recalled
to his home state to serve as provisional governor. The eventual defeat led to the exile of Santa
Anna who had sought refuge in Oaxaca where Juarez governed. Juarez refused his proposal and
established his leadership by attitude and example. His leadership may not have been revolutionary;
however it did lead to strong support in his ideals and accomplishments.

The Conflict Diamonds Of Sierra Leone
The conflict diamonds started to be present and problematic in Sierra Leone as soon as DeBeers
mining company took control of all diamond prospects throughout this region. Although DeBeers
was keeping a moderate watch on the trading and actions being taken through it, traders from
Lebanon (bordered by Syria and Israel to the south) were able to easily smuggle and mine diamonds
out through the company. Later towards the 1950s, countries, such as Sierra Leone, had to give up
the chance of regulating the illicit diamondindustry, thus having to warn owners of the mines to
provide their own security measures for the mines and land they owned. The issue wasn t justly
political or economic until Sierra Leone gained its independence in 1961, letting Siaka Stevens
enroll as Prime minister, therefore having a one party ruler. Stevens took control, and
monopolized the diamond mines, as well as encouraging them to gain power and fame
nationwide. Things were looking austere for diamond control rights and regulations, not only to
watch a civil war emerge, surging through the country as fire fought fire and brother fought
against brother. As the war extended from 1991 to 1999, it brought forth other problems as a
result of citizen on citizen warfare for the diamonds such as rape, murder, and sex slaves. Once
75,000 lives were claimed, the people of Sierra Leone finally realized that victims and executors of
these terrible crimes has emerged from the cash crop known as diamonds.

Programmers Perform Miracles
Programmer an organism that turns coffee into software. This quote by an unknown author
adequately sums up the life of professional programmers according to many literary sources. But,
they can t do it alone, programmers use tools to aid the development and debugging of their works.
This is where Integrated development environments(IDEs) and software development kits(SDKs)
come in, they help the programmerto write consistent code that can be debugged easily. But the
recent trend is away from traditional development environments and towards environments that can
easily transfer work from one platform to another. Newer software for programmers is helping them
get the job done.
First, of the nontraditional IDEs is Adobe PhoneGap. Modified from the open source Apache
Cordova, PhoneGap uses the HyperText Markup Language(HTML) code written by the
programmer to produce an app for multiple platforms including Android and Apple s iOS. PhoneGap
actually produces the application for six different platforms, a feature that minimizes the amount of
work programmers have to do to distribute their work to many systems. Although it breaks down the
barriers of inter OS separation, PhoneGap makes it more difficult to digitally sign a program.
Adding a digital signature adds validity and in some countries, legal weight to the program. A digital
signature is generally a three algorithms system that involves a key generator, a signing algorithm,
and a signature verification algorithm.
The Future Of The Human Race
The future of the human race is terrifying to ponder about; not only does it raise many questions as
to how the constant population growth will be handled, but it also causes natural resources to
become more limited by the day. As human beings progress towards the future they will undoubtedly
accomplish a myriad of feats. It is essential that one of such feats can solve the issues brought forth
by the ever growing population of the humanrace. Furthermore, engineers must either generate
new ways to sustain the increasing population, or they must develop systems to restrict the
growth of population in general. It may even be possible for engineers to apply their work
towards developing certain systems or technologies which can do such things as producing more
clean drinking water, disposing of waste more efficiently, being more efficient with energy (such
as oil and fossil fuels), etc. If present day engineers do not work quickly toward solving these
problems, it could be catastrophic. The human race is running out of the required resources to
sustain the current population, let alone the future population of the Earth at this rate. The
population of people on the Earth is expected to reach 8 billion by 2024 and is projected to be 10
billion by 2056. (Worldometers, 2016). As the population will increase by billions in the next few
decades, the human race will not be able to sustain such essential resources as oil, coal, and many
other essential resources for human survival.
Theories Of Psychology
The first theories talked about within chapter 4 are the inferiority and superiority complex
theories developed by Alfred. The infinity feelings are the source of all human striving, and is
normal among us all. It is brought about as soon as we are born, as we must compensate for our
lack of size or independence. The greatest example I can give of the inferiority feeling happened
two days ago with the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. Abdellatif Baka of Algeria won the T13
1500m final on Monday night in a stunning performance that not only set a new Paralympic world
record, but stands as the fastest 1500m time recorded by an able bodied or disabled athlete in Rio
over both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Among him was three other runners that finished...

A female patient from New York City is obviously going to be much different than a female farm
wife from Oklahoma. Personality doesn t depend wholly on biological forces, but depends much
more on the environment we was raised in. Horney believed that childhood was dominated by the
safety need, which is a higher level need for security and freedom from fear. She placed great
emphasis on the infant s helplessness. The more helpless children feel, the less they dare to rebel
against their parents. She also dwelled on anxiety which she called basic anxiety. Basic anxiety is a
pervasive feeling of loneliness and helplessness, that becomes the foundation for neurosis. In
childhood we try to protect ourselves against basic anxiety by securing affection, being submissive,
attaining power, and by withdrawing. These self protective mechanisms serve the one goal of
defending basic anxiety. Karen also developed a list of ten neurotic needs. A neurotic need is an
irrational defense against anxiety that becomes a permanent part of personality and affects behavior.
Then ten neurotic needs are: affection and approval, a dominant partner, power, exploitation,
prestige, admiration, achievement and ambition, self sufficiency, perfection, narrow limits to life.
Developing these needs will not make us feel safe and secure but help us escape the discomfort

Button Button Analysis
In, Button, Button, the author, Richard Matheson introduces Norma and Arthur Lewis. The button
causes temptations that lead to conflicts between the two characters. In the narrative, Mr. Steward
arrives at the house and tells them about the button. If one of them pushes the button, someone will
die, and they will receive a grand total of $50,000. This causes a dramatic conflictbetween the two. It
brings the worst out of the two of them, causing jealousy, selfishness, and acquisitiveness. Norma has
to make a decision whether to press the button or not. She contemplates and then eventually to press
the button. Matheson uses dialogue, inner thinking, description, and symbolism to develop the
central conflicts in the story and to accentuate how relationships break off even in the best
circumstances. Richard Mathesonuses dialogue to develop conflict in the story. The use of dialogue
is utilized to represent situational irony. In Button, Button the text states:
You said I wouldn t know the one that died.
My dear lady... Do you really think you knew your husband? (Matheson 111).
Additionally, this conversation indicates the situational irony revealed by between the two
characters: Norma and Mr. Steward. Mrs. Lewis didn t believe her husband would be the one that
dies. She didn t realize that she was so self absorbed and never truly knew her husband. This
conversation between two characters leaves the readers on a cliffhanger. Readers were also not
aware that Mr. Lewis would
