The Adoption Of Islamic Business Practices
The adoption of Islamic business practices by organizations: Why, How and what are the
performance outcomes

Organizations in most industries face increased competitive pressures from other organizations that
aim to satisfy customer demands. One of the most significant issues that face organizations today is
International competition in rapidly changing environment (Porter, 1986). Competition creates
diverse, new capabilities into an industry and more dynamic and uncertain competitive environment.
In industry the speed of technological developments might have changes due to increased
competition (Wiersema and Bowen, 2008). In most global industry the fast development of products
and process innovations has become very important in order to achieve competitive advantage (Bettis
and Hitt, 1995). The expectations of customers are increasing, and to meet the needs of the customer,
organizations are competing with each other. They are looking for ways they can get more profits
and market share. There are many factors to this increased competition, as technology and
globalization have shortened distances and consumers are now aware of more products and
services (Frésard and Valta, 2012). The world is changing rapidly and ways of doing business have
also changed. Globalization and technology have changed the way corporations do work and how
they treat their customers and employees. Globalization has also increased competition. Now
standards have changed, and organizations are

Did you know that woman can t check or have any physical contact in olympic hockey! Hi I will be
showing you guys some similarities and differences between NHL hockey and Olympic hockey.
Here is some history about the sport of hockey, hockey is the oldest ball and stick game, it dates

is a crooked stick used to hit a ball, ice hockey was introduced into the olympics in 1920, the first
all women s team played in the 1998 olympics. Man that was some interesting background history
now we will move on to some events that are different between the two. In the NHL there is no
1st, 2nd, or 3rd there can only be 1 winner unlike the olympic hockey you can win 1st, 2nd, and
3rd. The awards are different too like in the NHL you win MVP(Most valuable player), Stanley
Cup, and the Conn Smythe Trophy, the player awarded for the conn smythe trophy is the most
valuable player for the season. There are 21 total trophies players can get awarded arranging from
MVP to the National cup. Did you know that Canada has won 8 gold medals and is the current

Also both ice rinks are different, the NHL rinks are 200 feet long and 85 feet wide, but olympic
rinks are 210 feet long and 98 feet wide. In the NHL teams can dress 18 players and 1 goalie on the
ice, but in the Olympics you can have 2 goalies on ice and dress 20 players, another weird rules
are goalies can t play the puck behind the net, if they do they will get a 2 minute minor for
goaltender infraction, but in the olympics goalies can play the puck behind the net. Now we will
move on to some famous olympic
Informative Essay On Chernobyl
There are currently over 435 commercial nuclear power reactors operable in 31 countries, and about
70 more reactors are under construction. According to World Nuclear Organization, fourteen of them
have been classified as accidents where the public has been exposed to large amounts of radiation.
The most devastating of these incidents was the core meltdown of reactor 4 at Chernobyl, better
known as the Chernobyl disaster. Today, I am going to tell three things about the Chernobyl. First, I
am going to tell you what the Chernobyl disaster was. Second, why the explosion happened. Lastly,
what the Chernobyl was after the explosion.
On April 26th 1986, the world s worst nuclear accident happened in the Chernobyl nuclear power
plant in Ukraine. While Pripyat was peacefully sleeping, the floor of the ... Show more content on

This exclusion zone is one of the most radioactively contaminated areas in the world and draws
significant scientific interest due to the high levels of radiation exposure in the environment, as
well as an increasing interest from tourists. The area is essentially an abandoned ghost town, and
visitors are prohibited from entering. However, roughly 200 elderly residents who have refused to
leave still live near the radioactive site, along with a number of illegal squatters. An interesting side
effect of the ban on people is that the exclusionary zone has become one of the world s largest
wildlife preserves.
In the decades since the accident, the damage to both the environment and people s health has been
incalculable, and cleanup efforts are still in progress today. However, much of what we know about
dealing with nuclear disasters comes from Chernobyl. The knowledge has saved countless lives in
terms of improved safety precautions, and responding to other disasters like Fukushima in 2011.
Nuclear energy has its dangers, but Nuclear weapons are far more

reasons behind its decreasing appeal to newer generations. He discusses multiple perspectives on the
decline of Buddhism that argue that Buddhism is declining in popularity among young Japanese
people due to various historical and socio cultural reasons such as increasingly prevalent atheism,
increasing sectarianism, loss of official state support, and its continued basis in agrarian society
despite increasing urbanisation. Fumihiko, Sueki. Chinese Buddhism
Classify Abnormal Behavior
Usually when we think of a person with a mental disorder, we think of someone with a severe
intellectual disability or psychotic killers like Charles Manson. However, psychological
disorders are not always that dramatic or clear cut. Some of the people with these disorders may
even be your co worker, your dentist, your teacher, or even someone in your family. The question
of what classifies as a mental disorder is often difficult to answer. What I think is normal, you may
not. Abnormal Behavior can be defined as behavior that causes people to experience distress and
prevents them from functioning in their daily lives (Feldman, 2015, p. 450). Psychologists use
many criteria to evaluate and diagnose people with abnormal behavior. They use a detailed system
called the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM 5), devised by
the American Psychiatric Association, to define and classify abnormal... Show more content on

Psychologists consider behavior to be abnormal if it is distressing to the individual or others
around them or if it is dysfunctional, or impaired (McGraw Hill, 2015). A behavior is thought to
be dysfunctional if it causes harm or interferes with the person s ability to function in everyday
life (McGraw Hill, 2015). For example, someone who does not eat for religious reasons is
considered normal whereas someone who refuses to eat in order to watch their weight is
considered dysfunctional. Also, a behavior is abnormal if it deviates from accepted sociocultural
norms or is highly unusual (McGraw Hill, 2015). For example, a woman who prays to a higher
being is normal. However, someone who hears and responds to voices when they are alone is
considered abnormal. Normal and abnormal behavior fall at two ends of a continuum, so it is hard
to clearly decide whether a certain behavior is completely normal or

The effectiveness of banana stem juice as a natural coagulant for treatment of turbid water was
investigated. The main parameter studied was Turbidity. Coagulation experiments using jar test was
performed with a flocculation system where the effects of Turbid Water pH, Retention time as
well as Dosage of Banana Stem Juice on coagulation was examined. A Three Level Factorial
Design in Response Surface Methodology (RSM) using Design Expert software was applied in
the model analysis. Consequently, most of the actual and predicted values closely agreed with
various regression coefficients. The characteristics of the Turbid water was determined with TSS
at 222 mg/L, turbidity at 143 NTU and COD at 89.36 mg/L, BOD at 44.68 mg/L, DO1 at 11.7 mg
/L, DO5 at 6.93 mg/L, pH at 7, Temperature at 27.3°C. Turbidity reduction using Banana Stem Juice
was achieved at pH 6.5 with percentage

II.Presentation topic and length.
The topic of Sheryl Sandberg s Ted Talk was Why we have too few women leaders. This
TEDWomen talk is 14 minutes and 58 seconds in length.

III.How does this presentation fit into the class? Why is it important? (250 words strongly suggested)
This presentation fits into the class because we discussed in great depths about the wage gap that
our society has between men and women in the workplace. Sandberg makes more than the
average male her net worth in 2016 was 1.39 billion dollars. It is important that men and women
start being treated equally. Sandberg discusses the issue of why there are only a few women
leaders and how to keep women in the workforce to create more leaders. She also talks about how
women should act and how society should be treating them. It is important that she addresses
these issues because the wage gap not just in America but also all over the world is a huge issue.
Right now women working full time earn 81 percent of what full time workingmen make. There
is a 19 percent wage gap between men and women. It s 2016 we need to live in a society where
both men and women have equal chances in the workplace and we should more commonly see
women in positions of power in all different sectors of the work field. Women who are just as
qualified, and work the same hours, as men shouldn t be paid 4 dollars less than men to do the
same job. The wage gap needs to be getting
Case Study Pneumonia
INTRODUCTION Pneumonia is an inflammation of the lungs caused by an infection. It is also
called Pneumonitis or Bronchopneumonia. Pneumonia can be a serious threat to our health.
Although pneumonia is a special concern for older adults and those with chronic illnesses, it can also
strike young, healthy people as well. It is a common illness that affects thousands of people each
year in the Philippines, thus, it remains an important cause of morbidity and mortality in the country.
There are many kinds of pneumonia that range in seriousness from mild to life threatening. In
infectious pneumonia, bacteria, viruses, fungi or other organisms attack your lungs, leading to
inflammation that makes it hard to breathe. Pneumonia can affect one or... Show more content on

Among other agents are higher bacteria including Nocardia and Actinomyces sp; mycobacteria,
including Mycobacterium tuberculosis and atypical strains; fungi, including Histoplasma
capsulatum, Coccidioides immitis, Blastomyces dermatitidis, Cryptococcus neoformans, Aspergillus
fumigatus, and Pneumocystis carinii; and rickettsiae, primarily Coxiella burnetii (Q fever). The
usual mechanisms of spread are inhaling droplets small enough to reach the alveoli and aspirating
secretions from the upper airways. Other means include hematogenous or lymphatic dissemination
and direct spread from contiguous infections. Predisposing factors include upper respiratory viral
infections, alcoholism, institutionalization, cigarette smoking, heart failure, chronic obstructive
airway disease, age extremes, debility, immunocompromise (as in diabetes mellitus and chronic renal
failure), compromised consciousness, dysphagia, and exposure to transmissible agents. Typical
symptoms include cough, fever, and sputum production, usually developing over days and
sometimes accompanied by pleurisy. Physical examination may detect tachypnea and signs of
consolidation, such as crackles with bronchial breath sounds. This syndrome is commonly caused
by bacteria, such as S. pneumoniae and H. influenzae. NURSING PROFILE a. Patient s Profile

Literary Analysis Of To Homer By John Keats
Homer had a way of illustrating the natural world in exquisite detail. To him, the irregular shapes
and bold colors that surrounded him told stories only he could fathom. No one could have guessed
that Homer was blind. Every reader makes a choice to either read the top layer of his work and
visualize what their brain desires, or absorb the creativity and stand in the middle of his flamboyant
visions, not realizing that they have been changed forever. John Keatsexpresses how Homer s
writing had a way of healing his own ignorance, and changing his life from the moment he read it.
Keats writes about how he was most definitely not the same person he was before his exposure to
Homer. The poem, To Homer by John Keats explicates the idea that although Homer was physically
blind, he enabled a man blind with ignorance (Keats), to see the world through his literature.
The first part of the poem explains Keats ignorance before reading, as well as the greek gods
revealing elements of sky, sea, and land to Homer and then Keats. The first few lines express how
Keats was ignorant because of him not understanding Homer s writing. Later he explains how he
has heard of Homer, and how Homer wants to see, dolphin coral in deep seas. The importance of
mentioning coral here is that coral is known for its bright colors and funky shapes, something one
can only witness with their eyes, which Homer wishes he was able to. Then, Keats blatantly
mentions how Homer is blind, but then says, the
