Essay on The Prince vs. the Republic
Machiavelli s criticism of Plato s The Republic states that a ruler who possesses an inherent
quality of that which is consistently good will never have the authority to rule his or her people
successfully. If a ruler always treats his subjects in a manner, which can be qualified as good, then
he will ultimately meet his demise, as his subjects will rise against him. Machiavelli claims that it is
unrealistic to assume that all the people of a kingdom will conduct themselves in a manner that will
be consistent with the ruling of a good leader. Such republics or principalities do not exist in reality
and are entirely hypothetical situations.
Plato treats his republic as a means of demonstrating that there is a certain way for all people ... Show

He believes that the knowledge and application of the good will lead to a perfect state. However,
this cannot be said to be realistic, as despite the education of the good, one s desires will
ultimately overcome the need to be good and the state will collapse. If the rulers are only thinking
of the overall good of the state, their own needs will not be met, which can lead to unhappiness on
the part of the rulers and ultimately to the downfall of the system. Machiavelli implies in his
criticism that the needs of the ruler must be met in order to maintain a stable state, he must trust his
instincts and base desires in order to remain true to himself. If he does not, as Plato states and does
as he ought to, not as he wishes to, then he will be living a lie within himself and not rule as he
should. Without being true to what human nature tells one to do, an uprising either within the ruler
or of the subjects will take place and the state cannot stay afloat.
As Plato states in the republic the desires of the less respectable majority are controlled by the
desires and the wisdom of the superior minority (Part 5, 431d), however one cannot suppress all of
the desires forever and the people will finally realize the oppression that they are experiencing and
rise against the superior minority . The minority will not possess the power needed to control the
less respectable

Lorenzo s Oil

The Lorenzo s Oil was very impressive with the way the set up was. Nick Nolte, Susan

Sarandon, Peter Ustinov, Noah Banks, Michael Haider, Billy Amman, Cristin Woodworth, and
Zack O Malley Greenburg being the best actors of the movie in the lead roles really indulges you
into the movie. Through out the movie it s multiple Lorenzo s and they all p,ay a terrific part in the
movie as actors. It was filmed primarily from September 1991 to February 1992 in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Lorenzo s Oil is a drama film that was dirtied by George Miller.!

parents all meet up and tell what has happen to there kid and try to support each other and tell what
they have tried to do and what work and what didn t work. Something else that they have did was
Express the way they feel about the situation that there children are facing. Also, in the movie a
paper clip theory is introduce to show how the fatty acid in the body is being faced and show the
good and the bad through the body that is causing the body to have to much fatty acid.! !

Through this film that we watch I feel that it opened my eyes to things that other people

are faced with in life and I never really realized what they where fighting. I feel that if things like
this is going on in the world maybe everyone should at least try and pitch in a little help and help
with what is going on Also, I feel that the family are really strong to be able to fight what is
happening in there lives and stay strong and not breakdown. Something else that should be said is
they should broadcast things like this so people wont be blind of what is happening. I recommend
this to a lot of people in the world to see how tough it was for families to face this and fight trough it
Inside Out Psychology
An Outside in Look of the Film Inside Out
Responsible for the film Inside Out, Pete Doctor focuses on the inner workings and psychology of
the human mind. The film focuses on a story of young eleven year old Riley and then creates a
deeper focus on the five common emotions: Joy, sadness, fear, disgust, and anger, through her. Joy,
the leader, is the first emotion to appear in a headquarters like office, in which case that office is
Riley s mind. As Riley grows up, she experiences these emotions and for every emotion, there is a
memory created and color coded by one of the five emotions. After each day, when Riley falls into
REM sleep, each moment created is sent to a place called long term memories. Unique and very
rare emotions create Riley s personality and is sent into a small cubicle that holds core memories.
As the story continues, Joy and Sadness are accidentally sucked out of the headquarters along with
all the core memories and is placed with the long term memories which results in Fear, Anger, and
Disgust controlling Riley s emotions while Joy and Sadness go on this obstacle filled adventure to
find their way back. With this rhetorical analysis, my intentions are to document how Pixar s film

Along the way, they meet another character in the film, Bing Bong. He was Riley s imaginary
friend and is part cat, part elephant, and part dolphin. He explains, you gotta remember, when
Riley was three, animals were all the rage. The cow goes moo the horse goes nae . It s all people
talked about back then. The author is implying that at that age of adolescence, children are likely
to have imaginary friends to play with, be creative with, and grow up with. Joy tells Bing Bong
that they are trying to get back to headquarters and he reply s by saying he will
Kkks In To Kill A Mockingbird
The KKK and its history are related to the book To Kill A Mockingbird because the KKK were a
bunch of white segregationists who didn t like black people, in To Kill A Mockingbird everyone
mostly everyone wasn t fond of mr robinson because he was accused of rape.

The KKK flourished in the southern united states in the late 1860 s and was a form of white southern
resistance against what they perceived as encroaching african american rights. A united states
senator named Robert c byrd was a main recruiter for the KKK when he was in his 20s 30s. After
leaving the group he became a United states senator.

By 1870, the Ku Klux Klan had branched out to nearly every state. The group frightened many
people living in the U.S, most of which were
Specialties within Radiology
Modern medicine is capable of treating a tremendous range of human disease and injuries, but the
usefulness of all medical specialties depends on accurate diagnosis. Virtually every conceivable
medical specialty relies on radiological technologies to provide formal diagnoses, making radiology
one of the most important of all medical specialties. Radiologists enjoy some of the best working
conditions in modern medicineand typically experience very positive employment conditions.
Consequently, their services are generally in very high demand, with many starting out with six
figure annual incomes immediately after completion of their professional training. Within the field
of radiology, there are: (1) radiologists who are physicians... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the words of my Radiology professor, Warren Hejny, Radiology can take you anywhere; it can be
used as a starting block or stepping stone. Because of its tremendously wide applications within
modern medicine, radiology offers more than a dozen distinct areas of even greater specialization
within the field. Some of those specialty areas involve direct medical intervention, such as in the
case of radiation oncology and interventional radiology. Others focus more on diagnostics rather than
on direct medical treatment.
In that regard, breast imaging involves diagnosing diseases of the breast through mammography,
ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and tissue biopsies. Cardiovascular radiology is
the radiology specialty that uses X rays, computer axial tomography (CAT scans), MRIs, and
ultrasound to diagnose problems with the heart and circulatory system. Chest radiology employs
many of the same technologies and tools to diagnose and treat medical conditions of the heart and
lungs. Other radiology specialty practice areas include: gastrointestinal radiology, emergency
radiology, head and neck radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, and reproductive radiology. Finally,
radiology specialties can also intersect directly with other specialty areas of interest such as

Water Bottles And Water Bottle Controversy
There are over a billion people on this planet who do not have access to clean drinking water.
Michael Moore (Brainy Quotes). This quote alone says a great deal about the tap water versus
water bottle controversy. Bottled water, although convenient and may seem like the healthiest
choice, is not the case. People look at water bottles and automatically assume it is perfectly clean
because it looks crystal clear or it may even say it, but everyone should look deeper. People do not
seem to see how truly blessed we are as a country to have such wonderment. There are people who
have no clean drinking water at all. More than $100 billion dollars every year is spent on water
bottles, according to National
Geographic. If the world is spending this amount of money on something just because everyone
assumes it is the cleanest kind of water, and it is convenient, think of how many other ways we
could use that money. According to Water.org, there are 358 million people without any access to
water in
Africa. If we spent as much money as we do on water bottles to help send fresh, clean water over
to those in need of it, think of all the good we could do. People in third world countries are dying of
thirst, when we in America are not drinking all the water out of our water bottles and cups. A 2008
investigation by the nonprofit Environmental Working Group found some bottled water is sullied
with untested industrial chemicals and
My Professional Theory
Throughout the semester, I have learned many different theories and approaches when helping
clients. After taking these theories and approaches into consideration, I have developed my own
personal and professional theory to help my future clients. When building my unique theory to
helping I analyzed my own values and beliefs and found a way that I believe will work best for me
and my future clients. Before determining my approach to helping I had to analyze the beliefs and
values I hold. As a person, I have a specific set of values I base my life upon; I have found that many
of these values are like certain theories learned in class. In my personal life, I strive to be a warm
and honest person who takes responsibility for her actions. I value... Show more content on

Constructivism is the only cognitive behavioral theory I have used to influence my personal theory;
this is because it, focuses on the interdependence of thinking, feeling, and behavior... (Okun
Kantrowitz, 2015, p. 152). Constructivism is also phenomenological being that, it focuses on one
s subjective view of self, of others, and of the world (Okun Kantrowitz, 2015, p. 152). Like the
other theories and my own theory, Constructivism values a warm helping relationship, believes
people have free will, and evokes responsibility within the client. Without this theory, my personal
theory would be very affective, and as much as love the affective strategy, I need to address
behaviors and thoughts as well. The constructivism approach values all three of these equally,
which is why I like it so much and believe it is so effective. By incorporating this theory, I am also
considering but not focusing on the client s past, which impacts their present and future. In this
approach, the helper is empowering the client to make a positive change, which is the over goal
for me in this profession. If I can make a positive change in at least one clients life, I have done my
Gender Conformity And Gender
Throughout generations, both genders contain specific expectations and qualifications on how to
be an official male or female. Nowadays, there are many advertisements, commercials, and music
videos that display gender conformity just to make a profit. Gender conformity would be defined
as a set standard for both males and females on how they should appear and behave like. This is a
negative thing because many people believe that they have to fit a certain role to be accepted by
society. For example, in modern society it is very common for women to be attracted to a man that
is taller than them, good looking, and manly. In comparison, for men, we tend to be attracted to a
woman with lady like manners, big breasts, and a firm behind. These advertisements, commercials,
and music videos that display genderconformity are what brainwashes the children of younger
generations into believing that a maleor femaleshould look and act a certain way. This
advertisement reflects sex in their ad which is pornographic because it dehumanizes people of
both genders; and gender conformity is occurring here because it portrays men as a sex object. In
today s society, sexual visualization in commercials, advertisements, and music videos have been a
trending issue for quite some time now. This Calvin Klein advertisement shows Justin Bieber
laying down on the floor with no shirt on and wearing a pair of jeans with Lara Stone on top of him
partially wearing a jacket and a pair of jeans as
