Louisiana Sexual Harassment
Was It Academic Freedom, Sexual Harassment, or Lawful Termination?
That is the question surrounding the case involving former Louisianan State University professor
Teresa Buchannan. The now unemployed professor was terminated on June 19, 2015, from her duty
as a professor of elementary education at LSU after an investigation into student s complaints found
her guilty of making inappropriate, disturbing comments during class lectures; comments which
consisted of, Saying F*** no repeatedly in the presence of students...and telling a joke that the
quality of sex gets worse the longer a relationship lasts, according to Charles Lussier, author of the

In a statement released by Louisiana State University in regard to Teresa Buchannan s termination,
the university states, the former professor has a history of inappropriate behavior. Additionally, she
was asked not to return to more than one elementary school in the Baton Rouge area within the last
three years because of her inappropriate behavior (Kingkade).
Buchannan s termination is lawful because her history is a liability to the school. Let s try to forget
for a second that it was the professor s former students who took issue with her jokes that prompted
the investigation, which led to her termination from the school. Instead, imagine what could
potentially happen to the university if a future student is personably disturbed by Buchannan s
inappropriate jokes, and, thus, sues the school for allowing the former professor to teach despite
knowing the professor s

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards Essay
As new technologies develop and become mainstream over time, there needs to be specific
regulations in place. It is best if these sets of regulations are developed and maintained independently
from battery manufacturers, automobile manufacturers, and/or suppliers. Currently today there are
many bodies that maintain these standards. A few of them include UL (Underwriters Laboratories),
IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers
Association), SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), UN (United Nations), IEEE (Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers), JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards or Japanese Standards
Association), GB (Guo Biao or National Standard for the People s Republic of China), US DOT
FMVSS ( Federal Motor VehicleSafety Standards and Regulations), and BATSO (Battery Safety
Organization). These organizations set the standards to help minimize safety risks which include
but are not limited to fire, explosion, and shock. These standards are in place to try and assess the
safety risk associated with these new technologies and to help engineer them to be safer. This
research paper will focus on the UN ECE 100 standards, FMVSS 305, and UN 38.3.

Why Is Social Media Good Or Bad
Have you ever had a good or bad experience with social media? Have you ever been a part of a
protest that was started on social media? I think that social media is a good thing because you can
have so much fun on it and even make friends on in. Without that you would be limited to the kids
in your neighborhood and in some places there are not a lot of kids that you can make friends
with or they do not live close so you have to drive there. That is all fixed with social media. Like
recently I have found some friends on social media that I play games with. They are super nice
and without social media I would have never had that experience I would have to play be myself
all the time and have no one to talk to. But now I have the chance to make friends and have fun
with them even tho they live far away. Also colleges and most jobs look at your social media
account to see what kind of person you are and if you are able to work so not only can you have
fun but you can also potentially make money from it and you can make friends. Things like
Facebook are so convenient to talk with friends or family without that we would need to call them
and that is just so much harder to do then... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But you can aways friend you child on Facebook to protect them. Even tho they know what to do to
be safe online and what to do if something bad hapens but the odds of that happening is very small.
Also people think that social media is a waste of time but that is not true becuse you can learn so
much online and find so many cool and interesting things about things you did not even know
existed. Also you can buy things online so you do not have to go look for it in a store and have it
not be there which is a big waste of time. With the web you can buy things that you know they have
and it comes right to you. Al you have to do is wait for it to come to your house and that is
India s Largest Data Security Breach
3.2 million debit cards issued by some of India s largest banks were exposed to a malware induced
security breakdown around Mid 2016 making it one of India s largest data security breach. Malware
that could damage ATM system was injected into the ATM payment service machine, which
permitted unauthorized persons to access credentials of users. The NPCI (National Payments
Council of India), an umbrella organization facilitating retail payments warned banks that
unauthorized transactions were being generated from China and USA. SISA, a securityauditing firm
reported that a sophisticated injection of malware (a piece of malicious software code) in the
Hitachi Payments Services Systems led to the compromise of the details of these debit cards.... Show

SISA completed its final assessment report on the breach of security protocols, which led to the
potential compromise of debit cards between May 21 and July 11, 2016. SISA s report pointed out
a sophisticated malware injected (a piece of malicious software code) in the Hitachi Payments
Services systems, which could compromise the details of these debit cards. The code was written in
such a manner that it concealed its traces during the compromise period. While behavior of the
malware and the penetration into the network has been deciphered, the amount of data exfiltrated
during the above compromise period is unascertainable due to secure deletion by the malware said

The Reserve Bank of India has been asking banks to enhance their digital security and the Hitachi

committee on cyber security to review threats, study security standards and suggest appropriate
policy interventions. (Source: Press Trust of India, 09 Feb 2017)

Ancient Greece Compared To Modern Society
The ancient Greeks were a very well established society, and lots of their inventions and creations
are still used today, but some of their equality aspects and a few other things in society were very
biased and unfair. Firstly, the Ancient Greeks had a very complex and specific law and government
system. Due to the large population of Greece, in 507 BC, the Athenian leader at the time
(Cleisthenes) created a system of democracy, and a social hierarchy. This was a very complex
system states that all people or citizens have the right to have a say in who is their leader, and is
still used today in many parts of the world. Although this sounds equal and fair, only eligible
citizens could vote. Then came the social hierarchy. Gods at the top, then kings and priests, wealthy
merchants, and so on, with women and children, slaves and servants sitting at the bottom. Only men
who were wealthy, owned land, and were born in a city state were allowed to vote, excluding all
women. This is very different today, where, in Australia, the only voting restrictions are age and
citizenship. Much of the society in ancient Greecewas male dominated and followed the social
hierarchy. This affected who attended assemblies and political meetings, who was allowed to
compete/watch the Olympics and other sports, etc. the Olympics were avery big part of their ives
and it has kept its tradition still today. The sporting element in ancient Greece was mostly made up
of the Olympics and training for
Band Performance Review
It was the night that I went to see and support my friend s middle school band performance. I
remember watching and hearing the sounds of certain instruments and being instantly drawn to
them. At the very moment I knew that music was something I wanted to learn and study all through
life. There was something beautiful about the way each individual instrument sounded, and the
abilities that each musician had to make their instruments sound a certain way. The next year I
signed up for my school s band classes and began to learn and study about musicand music theory.
The one thing about music though that really captures my interest is the fact that it can provoke and
produce so many emotions in someone. As someone who has a rather hard time expressing
themselves, music was something I could turn to in order to understand and better... Show more

When I began studying Jazz, one orchestra that I particular had a liking towards was Lincoln
Center Orchestra. Listening to them play and knowing that I wanted to one day create music like
they did. Since I was learning jazz for trumpet many times I would also listen for Wynton
Marsalis, someone who I could only dream of playing like. My favorite and most inspiring
performance had to be Take Five , each section sounded amazing and were able to tell a story. Or
how in other performances sometimes two musicians would solo together, and it would appear as
if they were having a conversation without any words. I would often watch how relaxed and
poised they were and try to copy that demeanor when having to give solos in front of the class.
Also by watching professionals perform, I could see the true difference between me and them, and
how much work I needed to put into my playing to maybe one day move my fingers and rearrange
my embouchure in order to play like them with such
