Golf Industry Competition
Case #3: COMPETITION IN THE GOLF EQUIPMENT INDUSTRY
From its earliest beginnings in the 1450 s, golf was a peculiar game that tested the individual skill
of each person who played. It is a game that takes a player on a journey through a number of greens.
The player must try to get the small, hard golf ball into the green or putting green which contains a
hole in the ground. The player can only hit the ball with a golf club. Golf equipment, such as golf
clubs, golf balls, and the like are the subject of this report.
There are five competitive forces: competitive pressures stemming from buyer bargaining power and
seller buyer collaboration; competitive pressures coming from companies in other industries to win

Interest rate swap basics
Swaps, being highly liquid derivatives, are not traded on stock exchange, but facilitated by over the
counter (OTC) trading. Interest rate swap is an arrangement between two parties whereby they
exchange one set of interest payment for another. The most widespread arrangement is when fixed
rate interest payments are exchange for floating rate interest payment on some notional amount over
the time. This notional amount is generally not exchanged between counterparties, but is used only
for calculation of the size of cash flows to be exchanged, and what is more, usually only resulting
cash flow (difference between fixed and floating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the requirements imposed for the calculator are met.
Before we value the plain vanilla swap, we need to input the following parameters:
Notional
Contract period (Since the majority of interest rate swaps have a contract period between 1 year
and 5 years, I decided to specify it within this interval.)
Fixed interest rate
Frequency of payments (1, 2 or 4 times a year)
After all the values of the required variables are entered, the button Calculate should be clicked to
obtain the swap present value and such intermediate values like PV of fixed CF and PV of floating
CF, the difference of which is actually the swap present value.
The table below represents the logic of the swap calculator.
Explanation of columns:
Column (1) represents maturity in parts of the year. The scale interval is set as 0.25, since maximum
possible payment frequency (for this calculator) is 4 times per annum.
Column (2): I set forward LIBOR rates as floating interest rates. Depending on payment frequency, 1
year, 6 month or 3 month LIBOR rates are set as

Question 1a. Write a one page concise or two pages double spaced summary explaining the Federal
Reserve.
Basically, the Federal Reserve System is a banking system of the United States. It was created in
1913, with the enactment of the Federal reserve Act (2014). There are many responsibilities the
Federal Reserves has which include, supervision and regulation, monetary policy, payment services
and finally the financial stability. President Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act, into a
law. There are also many events that led up to the signing of the Federal Reserve Act that stuck out
to me.
The money and banking systems weren t the same in Colonial America. Colonial banks were not
allowed to accept deposits from the public or make loans. Instead, they issued paper currency
backed by metals and goals. Colonists were also limited to using bartering, European coinage as their
primary means of exchange. The legislation created a uniform national currency and permitted only
nationally chartered banks to issue bank notes (2014).
There was a period of a free banking era. There was a huge need for a reliable banking system
during the civil war. Many banks did not keep enough money on hand to meet the normal demands.
People lost their confidence in the banks and then began to go take their money out. This triggered a
succession of bank failures. The Federal Reserve System had a severe financial crisis, in

Former Chief Justice and President of the United States from 1909 to 1913, William Howard Taft
once stated Presidents come and go, but the Supreme Court goes on forever. That statement currently
remains to hold true. The first Supreme Court was called to assemble on February 1, 1790, at which
time the powers and duties of the Supreme Court were established. The United States Supreme Court
currently has one Chief Justice and eight Associate Justices and is the highest judicial body in the
United States.

The definition of criminal liability is when one does not commit an act of crime intentionally, but
the actions he or she takes result in a crime. An instance of criminal liability would be if an
individual takes medication that makes him or her drowsy and that person operates large machinery
and hurts or kills someone. He or she did not plan to hurt anyone but were negligent on the actions
taken (Lippman, 2010).
Accomplice liability means that under criminal law, any individual may be held responsible for a
crime if he or she intentionally abets, encourages, solicits, advises or procures the commission of the
crime by physical conduct or psychological influence. Generally, a failure to prevent another from
committing a crime will not trigger accomplice liability. However, that omission could be a factor in
determining whether psychological influences such as actus reus (guilty act) and mens rea (guilty
mind) of accomplice liability existed in the commission of a crime. The requirement of actus reus
accomplice liability involves even the smallest amount of psychological assistance to the perpetrator
of a crime, whereas mens rea involves showing ones intent to assist in the commission of a crime
(Lippman, 2010).
Actus Reus, Mens Rea, and Concurrence
United States law states that elements of a crime are facts that must be proven for the successful
conviction of an individual charged with a
Essay on The Dualism of Joe Christmas
William Faulkner s protagonist, Joe Christmas trajectory and immoral decisions become the
Siren s song that tip him over the stern of the boat that is his life. Christmas path takes turns and
twists that create a taciturn man who has been brought into the world unwanted; then, he
ruthlessly moves forward looking back at his past in order to make decisions for his future. Light
In August parallels Robert Frost s The Road Not Taken , when Joe finds that he has reached a
fork in the road and has to plan for kind of life he wants to lead, contradicting factors jumble his
persona. This creates a dualism in Joe s soul, wherein two sides of a man challenge him to try to
make decisions for survival. Faulkner s novel sets up intriguing... Show more content on

Milly maintained that she would be able to free herself and her child from her father, yet her son
s story begins with his struggle even with his first breath. When Joe was born he was pure; a light
from the heavens, but the transposition of his persona becomes apparent as his life is abridged
by the decisions he makes. Joe hung a chair, his murder weapon, over his head. At that moment he
lost all innocence, The course destiny chooses is in a sense superfluous, for we are not dealing
with the kind of fatality which manifests itself in a dramatic progression of events, from which we
cannot add or subtract a single one without changing its entire passage, for to do so would be like
saying that someone has not fulfilled his destiny. Pouillon tells of the belief that a man finds
himself on a path and makes a decision not in order to achieve his destiny or in a pre determined
path, but instead Joe bases his choices when they appear in front of him. He kills McEachern and
after has to think about his next move. Running away with bobby was no longer an option after she
rejected his marriage proposal. He moves towards the road much like in Frost s poem: Then took the

Complicated Grief By Hannah Gibbons And Lawanda Trull Essay

Complicated Grief
By Hannah Gibbons and LaWanda Trull
What is Complicated Grief?
Complicated Grief is an intense and long lasting form of grief that takes over a person s life.
Experiencing grief is natural, but complicated grief is a form of grief that takes hold of a person s
mind and will not let go. For most people, grief never completely goes, but over time, healing
diminishes the pain of a loss.
Thoughts and memories of a loved one are deeply interwoven into a person s mind, defining their
history. Missing deceased loved ones may be an ongoing part of the lives of bereaved people, but it
should not interrupt life activities. However, this is exactly what happens when someone is suffering
from complicated grief.
The term complicated refers to factors that interfere with the natural healing process. These factors
might be related to characteristics of the bereaved person and to the nature of the relationship with
the deceased person, the circumstances of the death, or to things that occurred after the death.
People with complicated grief know their loved one is gone, but they just cannot believe it. They
say they feel that time is moving on but they are not. They often have strong feelings of longing for
the person that died that do not seem to lessen as time goes on. Thoughts, images, or memories of
the deceased person frequently fill their mind, capturing their attention. They may have strong
feelings of bitterness or anger related to

with key business processes to achieve improved business performance. It involves business

The Characteristics Of The Jazz Style Of Ella Fitzgerald
Learning a great deal about musicality, the business side of music and how to take care of herself,
the next few years brought a great deal of success to Chick Webb and herself.
With the raise of the new jazz style, bebop, jazz music moved from the diatonic conventions of the
swing era to more chromatic harmonies, complex rhythms and more notes and chord options. This
style caught Ella s attention and during her time with the Chick Webb band, she got her start
improvising in the bop style.
Ella is said to have described the early days of the bop revolution as something of a nightmare. I
felt that I was being left behind, and I was, she says. A few years later Ella found herself as the
guest touring with Gillespie s band. She was thrilled to listen to this new music day in and day out
on the road and quickly found she had enough musicianship and ears or ability to hear the intricacies
of this hipper jazz. Ella Fitzgerald became an expert with the new modern rhythms and harmonies
and her improvisation and musicianship as a singer improved drastically. Her inspirations during
this era were Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie and she was able to imitate their playing style and
the timbre of the saxophone and trumpet. Not only was she able to copy their playing style but
also could sound just like Parker and Gillespie. This is made apparent in her solo from the live
recording of How High the Moon . This song is a great song for any beginning scat singer to
Criticism Of Snow White
If the mirror is interpreted as the symbol of a husband, it might explain the literal absence of the
King in the story (Barzilai, 1990). It is possible that the Queen is fighting for the attention of her
husband. The growth of Snow White to become a more beautiful female than her mother means the
end of an era for the Queen. She is no longer a youthful lady, but a mother of a grown up daughter.
It is very common in patriarchal societies to view womanas mothers after a certain age. Giving birth
resonates with a distorted body image. Mothers carry the marks of birth giving and breastfeeding on
their bodies. They transform from a state of seductiveness to a mother. Their role is reduced to a
domestic caretaker for the children. It represents... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we apply this view to the story of Snow White, we can see how Queen is made to be an evil
female character. Before Snow White was born, the Queen did not have diabolic characteristics in
the text. She was a woman peacefully dreaming about having a beautiful daughter. She did not gain
the evil features attributed to her until after Snow White came to a certain age. At that point, Snow
White was declared as the new beauty by the mirror. In other words, patriarchal forces placed her
crown on her daughter. On the other hand, Gilbert and Gubar s view that the monster and the angel
might be in the same body, mean that the Queen and Snow White are one and the same personality.
It might be interpreted that the patriarchal system breaks them apart instead of letting them live in
harmony in the same house. When the whole breaks apart, one of them takes the monstrous side and
the other one takes the angelic side forming a binary
