Symptoms And Treatments Of Depression
Depression is a major issue affecting many in a person s everyday life. There are many ways to
combat depression, whether it be medication such as antidepressants or therapeutic treatments such
as psychotherapy, electroconvulsive therapy, light therapy or even herbal remedies. ( Diseases
and Disorders: Depression ). Antidepressants temporarily stop depression, but since the side
effects can be harmful or life threatening, alternative treatments are a much safer and efficient way
to combat depression. Depression is not an emotion, but a defense against emotions. Depression
or depressive disorders are mental illnesses characterized by a profound and persistent feeling of
sadness or despair and/or a loss of interest in things that were once pleasurable ( depressive
disorders ). depression. There are multiple different categories of antidepressants which each have
different side effects. MAOIs, drugs that inhibit monoamine oxidase, include Marplan, Parnate, and
Nardil (O Connor 199). Their main disadvantage is that they may cause a fatal stroke or dramatic
increase in blood pressure if certain foods containing the compound tyramine are consumed (cheese,
red wine, and pickles, among others) (O Connor 200). TCAs or Tricyclics include Tofranil, Elavil,
Anafranil , Pamelor, Norpramin, and Sinequan ( Diseases and Disorders: Depression ). Side effects
include urinary retention, sun sensitivity, dry mouth, weight gain, and constipation. Most important,

Science Fiction In Our Modern Society
In our modern society, science fiction is an important genre of fiction which can be used to
deconstruct, understand and at times even critique contemporary society. This essay aims to explore
ways in which science fiction accurately depicts current issues and trends in human behaviour, thus
showing why sciencefiction is pivotal in trying to understand society. This essay tries to relate events
which occur in the three selected science fiction texts to activities that are observed in our society by
critically analysing the similarities between events in texts and occurrences in our contemporary
society. Isaac Asimovs two short stories Liar and Sally will be used in conjunction with the three
episodes of the Animatrix, to fully argue that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that our society has become so reliant on models and maps that we lost all contact with the real

everywhere in modern society. Reality television shows like Keeping up with the Kardashians

and believes word for word everything that happens in the shows because they think that it is
really happening in reality even though a majority of them are scripted and edited to make the get

Roth IRA Research Paper
The, best known as IRAs for its acronym in English (Individual Retirement Accounts), individual
retirement accounts are a good option to consider when planning for retirement, since these are
savings accounts with attractive tax advantages. These accounts are recommended if your employer
does not offer any retirement plan like a 401 (k), or if you want to have an additional plan to save
more for your retirement.

IRAs can be opened at any bank or brokerage firm, either in person or online. The opening process
is very simple and only requires to have on hand your social security number and beneficiaries, as
well as your basic personal information.

There are several types of IRAs, but the most used are the traditional IRA and the Roth IRA. ... Show

You can also start making withdrawals after age 59½, they will be subject to the ordinary tax rate. If
you make withdrawals ahead of time, they will be subject to 10% penalty, plus applicable taxes apply.

Tax laws require the traditional IRA make a required minimum distribution to the beneficiary from
70½ years old.

Roth IRA
Unlike the traditional IRA, the contributions you make in the Roth IRA are not tax deductible, but
upon reaching retirement all your withdrawals will be tax free. In addition, for this type of account
no age restrictions.

Another difference is that with the Roth IRA, your eligibility depends on your level of adjusted
gross income. So for 2011, you may be eligible for a Roth IRA:

If you declare your taxes individually, and your adjusted gross income does not exceed $ 122,000; or
If you do your tax returns together, and your adjusted gross income does not exceed $ 179,000.

The maximum contribution limit for 2011 is $ 5,000, you can do it to date within tax return, ie
until 15 April 2012. However, if you are over 50 years before the end of 2011, you can make a
compensatory contribution of $ 1,000
Augustus Caesar Bad Leader
Many people would not hear the words good leader and Adolf Hitler in the same sentence. Nor
would anyone usually say that Mahatma Gandhi was an aggressive leader. Both past leaders
show many similar leadership qualities, but the way they broadcasted their ideologies diverges
severely. Many world leaders possess the qualities of authority, but none can quite be a perfect
commander. In fact, there is no such thing as a perfect leader. No commander can perfectly lead a
division into battle, and no chief can perfectly manage his tribe. For every strength of a good
leader, a flaw exists. There is no impeccable image of a leader. Everyone knows of AugustusCaesar,
the first Roman emperor. There is a whole month named after him. Augustus was a great leader
favored by the people and by neighboring countries. But most people don t know that he also
banished his daughter and granddaughter, that his potential heirs kept mysteriously dying, and that
he was extremely egotistical. Even though he expanded his empire more than any other leader had
before and reformed the entire government of Rome, he still had many pitfalls that kept him from
being a perfect leader. In the book Lord of the Flies, Ralph is an example of an optimal leader. He

Hunger of Friends
Allissandra Allix, as her friends and relatives lovingly called her used to be a humble and
diligent, ordinary girl. She lived with her mother on a comfortable home, had funny friends, went
to school and did some part time jobs for extra cash. However, that was before her mother fell ill
and the merciless Noza Empire ravaged the cities along the coastline with bombs and plunged it
into war. She learned the hard way that, not only do grownups believe in magic and all sorts of
invisible things, but that a lot of them were eager to kill and start wars because of these beliefs.
Like the war that reached her city obliging her to plunder abandoned houses, looking for food and
valuables to trade for her mother medicine in the black market. Every night, Allix would go to
bed early, before the sun even began to set. It was necessary for survival. She was able to get up
at night, to scavenge in the empty houses, trying to find whatever food she could. One night She
woke up almost at daybreak, with her stomach remembering that she was starving, and her body
began to trembling with hunger. The last month was terrible. She d eaten only her mother´s
leftovers in the hope of hiding the truth about the situation they were in. Each day she became
weaker and dizzier. It was too late to search in abandoned houses, but two blocks away was the
Orange Street where wealthy people still lived. Maybe she could find something in their garbage. It
would not be the first time. Allix took a little
Neo Liberalism And Its Impact On Society
Introduction
There is a heated debate on this concept during the past 20 years and is somewhat named as
exhortation. Many authors have tried to describe this concept and related it with the spread of
capitalism and along with a proactive welfare state. The concept of neo liberalism basically revived
from liberalism. By this it can be suggested that liberalism was absent from politics in order to
emerge in a new form. Neo liberalism is not basically a distinct ideology and a not proper form of
liberalism. It shares only some of the historic views with liberalism which would be general. Another
concept which is introduced is economic liberalism. It is defined as that the states do not intervene
in the matters related to economy rather on the individuals. Economic liberalism and neoliberalism
are separate entities from liberalism. In oxford English dictionary describes economic liberalism as,
Favorable to constitutional changes and legal or administrative reforms tending in the direction of
freedom or democracy.
It also describes neo liberalism as, A modified and revived form of traditional liberalism one based
on the belief in free market capitalism and the rights of the individuals.
Liberalism
Liberalism was an important concept but it also lost some of its importance in order to emerge as
a new form. In the today s world hardly any one speaks for the freedom and democracy
The Dramatic Effectiveness and Significance of Act 3,...
The Dramatic Effectiveness and Significance of Act 3, Scene 1 in Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare
s second tragedy Romeo and Juliet was written between 1594 and 1596. The play is set in Verona
a city in the north of Italy. In the play it is portrayed as a small independent country. The prince of
Verona rules the city like a king and everyone obeys him. It is set over a period of four day.
Shakespeare got the idea from a poem by Arthur Brooke called the tragical history of Romeus and
Juliet which had been written in 1562. Shakespeare s version of the story is very similar, but
differs in the following ways. He added characters such as Romeos friend Mercutio; he also made

The scene then moves to a tragic where the audience feels foreboding, sympathetic and worried
for the future of Romeo and Juliet. This scene is also important because the audience learns a lot
about the characters. When Romeo first enters he is happy, peace keeping type of person. He
changes a lot during the scene it starts once Tybalt has killed Mercutio he changes from peace
keeping to an angry feisty person and wants revenge. He says Again, in triumph, and Mercutio
slain? Away to heaven, respective lenity, and fire ey d fury be my conduct now! He then run
across the town and finds Tybalt down a back street where he fights in revenge and anger with
Tybalt and for revenge of the killing of Mercutio. After this Romeo has a feel of guilt and feels
worried about what he has done. He feels like the whole world is against him. Saying O, I am
fortunes fool Tybalts character adds a lot of dramatic force in the scene. He enters the scene ready
to fight and asks Mercutio where Romeo is. Mercutio, thou consortest with Romeo. Tybalt wants to
know, as he is so keen to fight with Romeo, as he is annoyed with him after appearing at the party
and Romeo having been with Juliet. Mercutio then persists to be sarcastic and Tybalt still acts
matcho and big but challenges Mercutio to a fight. I an for you Tybalt doesn t change at all in this

The World And Expanse Of Time
Throughout the semester, evaluating different eras and event across the world and expanse of time,
we have studied how individual players and their actions contribute to our understanding of history
itself. Many of our readings were historical accounts centralized on the lives of single players, and
these players roles in greater historical events.
The outbreak and entirety of WWI, serves as an example of how many individual players, and their
actions, contributed to the overall outcome of an all out war. In class, we discussed how there were
a number of major players whom helped contribute to the outbreak and subsequent events of WW1.
One of the key actors we examined, was the Emperor to Russia at the time, Nicholas II, and the
qualities attributed to him as an individual. These are the qualities which may have not only led to
Russia s involvement in WWI, but also can be attributed to Russia s loss in Russo Japanese War,
further destabilization of Russia s central government under Nicholas II, and ultimately the collapse
of the Russian Monarchy, all culminating in the 1917 Russian Revolution.
Nicholas II was the first born child of Emperor Alexander III of Russia, and being so, his upbringing
was a rather quite and isolated, though he maintained a close relationship with both his father and
mother. In 1881, Alexander II, Nicholas grandfather (and Emperor at the time) was assassinated by
revolutionaries, quickly making Nicholas heir apparent at the age of thirteen. Though
George W. Bush s The War On Terror
On the 9th November 2001, George W. Bush declared the War on Terror a response to the terrorist
act on 11 September 2001. However, the response was not only based on the breach of national
security that endangered the lives of Americans. If it had been, his response would have been purely
targeted at terrorists and not the abstract concept of terror that engages with a wider pool of people
(that we will later see to be affiliated with the Orient/Other). Orientalism, according to Said, is the
corporate institution for dealing with the Orient dealing with it by making statements about it,
authorizing views of it, describing it, by teaching it, settling it, ruling over it: in short, orientalism as
a Western style for dominating,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, this essay will argue that fundamentally the justifications for the policy in the War On
Terror is to a large extent a reflection of Orientalism and US domination, intertwined with aspects
reflecting national security and economic interest. To a large extent Bush s declaration of the War
on Terror followed by the establishment of Guantanamo Bay is by far the largest reflection of
Orientalism since it defines the terrorist . Bush s speech on the War on Terror, not only defined the
terrorist but directly associated it with the East, creating the other as the enemy. Orientalism can be
seen by the Bush s administration to define, and arguably create the terrorist since he characterizes
them through an orientalist perspective. It can be argued that the War on Terror was an orientalist
instrument used to create the image for knowing the Terrorist. This is crucial as knowing the
terrorist, legitimizes any policy of action to eradicate the perceived terrorist. This can be seen most
prominently in Bush s speech on the War of Terror where he tactically separates the West from the
East. Said s book would support this argument as it can be perceived that the created an imaginative
geography in which the Occident and Orient are separated . Therefore, Bush divides the US and the
others by labelling them as evil and uncivilized beings that hate western values of freedom
