Anthem Protests For Anthem
National Anthem Protests
Protesting of the national anthem, ignited in 2016 by then San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin
Kaepernick of the National Football League, began by him sitting down, and later kneeling, during
the playing of The Star Spangled Banner prior to the game s kickoff. The protest that started in the
National Football League has now led to protests across all sports in all levels of it from Major
League Baseball, to high school football, to the Women s National Basketball Association the list
goes on and on. The action that started as kneeling during the national anthem has now led to some
professional sports teams not even coming out of the locker room for The Star Spangled Banner.
Kneeling, sitting, locking arms, and raising fists have all been seen, by all races. Colin
Kaepernick, the man who started it all, was not aiming to disrespect the flag or all of the men and
women who have served in armed forces for this country. He wanted to protest in a respectful
manner, which is why he kneeled, rather than sit. I am not going to stand up to show pride in a
flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than
football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and
people getting paid leave and getting away with murder. He was protesting police brutality and
racial injustice, a very real but not always talked about problem in the United States. However, is
protesting
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Ids
INTRODUCTION
The enormous growth of computer networks usage and the huge increase in the number of
applications running on top of it, network security is becoming an important issue. Moreover, almost
all computer systems suffer from security vulnerabilities which are both technically difficult and
economically costly to be solved by the manufacturers. Therefore, the role of the Intrusion Detection
Systems (IDSs), as special purpose devices to detect anomalies and attacks in the network, is
becoming more important.
In general, IDSs are using two fundamental approaches. The first one is misuse detection, also
called signature based detection. In this type of IDSs, the search for evidence of attacks is based on
knowledge accumulated from known attacks. This knowledge is represented by attacks signatures
which are patterns or sets of rules that can uniquely identify an attack. Being designed based on the
knowledge of the past intrusions or known vulnerabilities, misuse based IDSs are also called
knowledge base detection. The advantages of knowledge based approaches are that they have a very
good accuracy and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This way, the system will achieve the advantage of misuse detection to have a high detection rate on
known attacks as well as the ability of anomaly detectors in detecting unknown attacks. Despite the
inherent potential of hybrid detection, there are still two important issues that highly affect the
performance of these hybrid systems. First, anomaly based methods cannot achieve an outstanding
performance without a comprehensive labeled and up to date training set with all different attack
types, which is very costly and time consuming to create if not impossible. Second, efficient and
effective fusion of several detection technologies becomes a big challenge for building an
operational hybrid intrusion detection
Examples Of Injustice In Oedipus The King
When reading a novel, what someone thinks is justice or injustice can start up a debate. The
character s belief that they are doing something correct might start up a problem in the story. A
great example would be Oedipus character in the story of Oedipus the King. His character
throughout the story gives his opinion and acts I what he believes is the best way of showing justice
to his actions.
First of all, in the story of Odious the King, Oedipus shows his understanding of the word justice.
Not everyone s believing what justice is being light or wrong. Everyone has different pinions.
When analyzing Oedipus belief in what is right the reader can notice how his thought of justice
comes from being a people person. What he does is for the
The Psychology Of The Field Of Psychology
What captivated my interest in working within the field of psychology was the joy and sense of
accomplishment after aiding another individual in need. Since high school I have been involved in
volunteer work assisting individuals by helping them acquire new skills, or becoming a friendly
mentor. Throughout the years I learned how to observe others, as in discovering how different a
person may react to a certain situation, to how they interact within their social groups. Since my
volunteer work in high school, I went forth in taking up clinical psychologycourses throughout my
collegecareer and also acquired a summer job that let me expand and learn more outside of the
classroom, which then proven to me again that I love the psychology filed in helping people.
During my college experience as an undergraduate majoring in clinical psychology and minoring
in sociology, I pushed myself to excel the best in my academics along with outside circular
activities. I manage to maintain an overall B average in all my classes, while also assisting a
professor in their research, being the President of the Kutztown Psychology Club, choreographer at
the Kutztown Dance team, and working a part time job. Due to all of these events I learned how to
properly manage my time wisely, while still maintaining standard grade scores. However, I also
learned that I tend to put too much pressure on myself by filling up a busy schedule thinking I can
accomplish anything and everything, when in
The Effects Of Poverty On Indigenous People
Without land and control of their assets, Indigenous Peoples are destined to remain the world s
poorest communities with the worst health, highest mortality rate and shortest life span ( The
Indigenous Movement ). The Indigenous Peoples Movement works to acquire legal protection and
works to raise awareness towards the indigenous peoplescauses globally. Indigenous peoples are
generally defined as individuals who belong to a highly conservative, culturally and linguistically
different non dominant social group, distinct from the modernly dominant society hoping to
maintain that separation with the superior culture. In addition, their cultures and traditional practices
have been harmed over the centuries complications arising from the European... Show more content

These three factors, chronologically, are catalyzed in a domino effect commonly experienced by
indigenous peoples, thus being responsible for the high suicide rates. Statistical evidence for Latin
America indicates more than 80 percent of the region s indigenous peoples are still living in abject
poverty, a trend that has changed little since the early 1990s ( Latin America ). Because of the rising
poverty states, among the indigenous communities, a portion of the indigenous have resorted to
violent crimes. Opponents against helping indigenous peoples believe that the activities of the
indigenous risk the safety of the dominant societies, and thus should not be helped provoking
thoughts derived from observing the rising number of aboriginal peoples incarcerated in Australia
over the years: an exponential growth rate for indigenous incarceration has flooded the prisons with
a numerable quantity of indigenous peoples . It is understandable that one would conclude such an
alleged claim only by seeing the statistical facts, but without further investigation of the causes for
incarceration, many crucial details are absent that turn the tides of the argument towards an
advocacy for legislative and judicial systems to intrude and elicit repairs for legal complexities
associated with indigenous peoples. Procuring legislative support could decrease the numbers of
poverty struck indigenous communities and effect an ameliorable change in their social standing,
thus projecting a more respectful and less hostile view by the dominant
Hearing Aids In Preschool Essay
When I was a child in preschool, I was diagnosed with hearing loss. Everyone knows that a child
develops a language and communicate by mimicking their parents and people surrounding them
from what they hear and see. If hearing loss isn t treated, the child could later on develop speech
problems, academic difficulties, or even social issues. As for myself, many of those things have
come to pass. I acquired a hearingproblem early in my preschool days. I am not sure what was the
cause of my hearing loss but my mother sought out help and I received Behind the Earhearing aids.
In elementary school, I was quite excited that I was able to leave my class and visit the school s
nurse to retrieve my hearing aid, where I was supposed to leave them, ... Show more content on

When I started a new school in the sixth grade, little did I know that my mother allowed the
school administrators to make the arrangements for me to be placed in special classes so I can
keep up with my peers. At this age, I didn t see being different as a good thing and wanted to be
normal like the other kids. However, it was obvious that I wasn t like other kids. The school day
would start out with my regular class then when it was time to change class and go to the next
period, I would go to a different class then most. Usually, after the home period, the students
would be split up into four parts, one would go to gym, another to lunch, another to arts or music
and the last to a different subject. For me instead of going to another subject with ¼ of the class, I
would end up in a smaller classroom for math with about five other students while a regular
classroom would contain about 20 30 students. I was upset because I was doing so well in my
math class and I found out the regular math class is doing the exact same work. Every week, my
math teacher would give the student prizes for good work, so I would go home with certification
for best students, most achievements, great work, high scores. With that realization, I worked even
hard to not be placed in separate classroom. I honestly believed
Yeoman Jobs Research Paper
Medieval Jobs The Role of a Yeoman A yeoman owned his own land and often farmed it himself.
His land would be equivalent to 30 120 acres. A Medieval yeoman was required to be armed and
trained with a bow. Wealthy yeoman would be expected to also be trained and armed with a
sword, dagger and the longbow. Yeoman were therefore often employed to guard and protector
the nobility. Other Medieval Jobs Although many people were employed on the Manors and in
farming there were also many different jobs and occupations in the towns and also in the
Medieval castles. These jobs are explained and defined in the following list of Medieval Jobs:
Armorer The typical medieval armorer was a high end blacksmith. Since being an armorer was a
skilled trade that required a lot of custom work, the prices fetched for armor enabled a much better
lifestyle than that of a typical blacksmith, if the work was good enough. Armorers would receive
orders from nobility or knights, and custom make a suit of armor to fit that exact person. If the
armor was damaged, the armorer would also repair it. Nobles and knights weren t the only people
with armor, however, and the armorer would serve the lower classes as well, especially in times of
war. Apothecary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The forerunner of today s pharmacist, the apothecary procured, mixed, and evaluated medications.
The role of the apothecary pharmacist has undergone many changes over the centuries. Once
associated with the supernatural and alchemy, the apothecary became a leading health care
practitioner whose field of expertise was based on science and who often treated patients directly.
Eventually, the traditional apothecary was replaced by pharmacists, as we know them from the local
drug store. Today, the pharmacist is primarily a dispenser of drugs already formulated and
manufactured by pharmaceutical
Yayoi Kusama
From Japanese pop art to the black shapes of toxic clouds, Brisbane s Gallery of Modern Art and
the Queensland Art Gallery situated in Southbank, have it all. Even though, perhaps, there are some
distinctly interesting art pieces which are currently displayed in these two galleries. These galleries
exhibit a wide display of different genre of art ranging from film to installations and back to
sculptures which show the concept of Identity the Human Condition, but none quite so than the
Contemporary Asian Art Exhibition and the Creative Generation Exhibition. When Yayoi Kusama
first started creating her art works as a young ten year old child with depersonalization syndrome,
she would have never have thought that six decades down the track her pieces would be all over
the world being displayed on nearly every continent. Even through Kusama was diagnosed with
rijinsho or as it is known in English depersonalization syndrome , she has still managed quite
successfully to create thought provoking images and installations which leave us wondering: Why
does she always incorporate that into her art work? And that s such a strange concept. What brings
her to paint and create things in that way? Kusama s obscene obsession with dots may appear a little
crazy to those viewing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All artworks in some sense represent the human condition either in a physical or psychological
way. These two pieces represent it in both ways. Soul Under the Moon by Yayoi Kusama represents
this concept in a psychological way which represents Kusama s disorder called rijinsho which is a
depersonalization syndrome, causing the bearer to feel disconnected from everyday life whereas
Animal vs Human by Rebecca Hardy shows it through the physical characteristics of the animal and

John R. Bisland Research Paper
John and Fannie are still property owners and presumably still at Aragon. John R. Bisland is
listed as a Manufacturer of Sugar in the US IRS Tax Assessment List for Division 21, dated
January 1867. William Alexander Bisland left Hope Farm and was at Mount Repose in Natchez.
The 1870 Census of Natchez, Adams County, Mississippi shows William A., age 43, and family
living with his mother, Mary L.L. Bisland; his sister, Lenora, and several other family members.
The next entry on this census is another sister, Jane Lambdin and her family. The 1870 Census of
Terrebonne lists Thomas, age 35; Margaret, age 30; children: Mary (known as Mollie), age 11;
Lydia (Elizabeth perhaps reported as Lizzy), age 9; Thomas, age 6; Lensin (Lenox), age 2; and
Margaret, age 1. Thomas is listed as a Farmer. Note that Guy is not reported in this listing. There is
no further mention of Guy other than the above referenced letters, and it is presumed that he died
as an infant between 1862 and 1864.24, 32 Thomas and family have obviously left Fairfax
Plantation in St. Mary and are now living at Hope Farm.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is plausible that both are correct. In addition to this census documentation, evidence that Hope
Farm was still home for this branch of the Bisland family is found in the passport application of
youngest daughter, Margaret Watts Bisland on May 20, 1920. I solemnly swear that I was born at
Hope Farm Bayou Terrebonne, in the State of Louisiana, on or about 24th day of April, 1870, that
my father, Thomas S. Bisland was born in the United States of America and is now
