The Competing Values Framework For High Performance...
The Competing Values Framework in Relation to High Performance Management
The purpose of the Competing Values Framework (CVF) is to facilitate the process of understanding
the various management roles and how they can be applied more effectively in an environment of
competing tensions. Each role is distinct and seemingly contradictory, but intertwining them is
essential in order to achieve optimal efficiency; ultimately becoming a high performance manager.
This behavioral complexity the ability to deal with the competing demands through the mastery of
seemingly contradictory or paradoxical roles differentiates the high performing managers from their
counterparts (Hart Quinn, 1993). In the process of becoming a high performance manager, ... Show

Tragedies and traumas, depending on how you frame them, can either result in post traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD) or post traumatic growth (PTG). In my case, I had consciously chosen to embrace
the experience resulting in PTG, which starts by recognizing the uncertainties in life and embracing
them as fundamental tenets of human existence (George, 2015). This particular crucible has taught
me that in life there may be instances that you cannot control similarly to business and leadership.
Self Awareness
Psychologist Daniel Goleman, author of Emotional Intelligence outlines five areas essential to
achieving a high level of emotional intelligence (EQ): self awareness, self regulation, social skill,
empathy, and motivation (George, 2015). Possessing a high EQ is invaluable as it allows
individuals to connect with others on an interpersonal and emotional level rather than in a strictly
intellectual matter. However, EQ and IQ are not mutually exclusive, instead, it is essential for both
to be joined together to achieve an optimal level of leadership. Leaders who lack EQ and lead only
with their intellect tend to dismiss the opinions of others and dominate decision making (George,
2015). Such leaders have the tendency to surround themselves with subordinates who are complacent
and submissive. As a result,

Coffee that is not consumed in a short period of time is thrown out due to it tasting burned.
Coffee pot is not cleaned before a fresh pot of coffee is made. The price paid for a cup of coffee
is the same no matter what size of cup used. People do not consistently pay their coffee dues.
Pouring coffee from the pot to the cup creates a messy area. People do not clean their mess. A new
pot of coffee is not always started after the last cup has been poured. Coffee that has been started too
late in the day is usually thrown out.
It is possible to solve all of these issues while maintaining the same coffee maker. But the problems
will recur. Addressing these recurring issues in the same manner is not the solution. The solution is
to change the method of coffee preparation.
Method Used
Two coffee makers are examined in this report, the current coffee maker used in the office and the
proposed replacement model. The current coffee maker is the Mr. Coffee model FTX43, black
and chrome 12 cup programmable coffee maker, originally priced at $70.00 ( Drugstore.com,
n.d.). The proposed replacement coffee maker is the Keurig OfficePro Commercial Coffee
Brewer, average price $130.00 ( Staples.com, n.d.). The coffee used in this report is the same brand
for both models. This will enable as fair a comparison as possible. The type of coffee used in the
comparison is Folgers Gourmet Selections Black

Research Paper On Beads Of Courage
Being diagnosed with a terminal disease will shock any person, but when you have to tell a child,
it really changes your perspective. Little kids bounce back from a lot of things, but it is their
support system that gets them there. Beads of Courage is a free organization that helps support
children, newborns to eighteen, through life threatening diseases. They design and distribute beads
and each one has a different meaning. It is meant to be a coping method for those who have a
serious illness, for each procedure they must endure, they get a bead. This means every port
(replacing and cleaning), x ray, MRI, PET scan, blood draw, infusion, and many other operations are
captured in the beads (structure). Jean Baruch developed the program in
Symbols In Wise Blood, By Flannery O Connor
Throughout Wise Blood, written by Flannery O Connor, it is often of the predominant character,
Hazel Motes, that one of his most distinguishing features is his eyes and how they connect to who
he is and how he defines himself. For example, the readers first encounter with Haze is from the
perspective of the many train passengers. Each noticing that ... he didn t look, to her, much over
twenty, but he had a stiff black broad brimmed hat on his lap, a hat that an elderly country
preacher would wear (O Connor 4). To them, he was a soldier, just relieved of duty and on his way
home. However, he was not going home. He had no home and was in search of a new purpose in
life. The preachers hat that Hazel always wears is just one of the symbols O Connor uses to reveal
the theme of her work. Symbols in literature are often used to portray a bigger picture, express a
deeper meaning or foreshadow an event, however in Wise Blood, O Connor uses symbols such as a
car, eyes and colors to portray the main characters; inner conflict about religiosity. As a young boy
Hazel, also referred to as Haze, aspired to become a preacher. He grew up watching his grandfather
preach on top of a car. Yet, each time his grandfather... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If something is described as being hazel, it is often defined as mixture between blue and green. It is
hazy and a blur to depict the color. This correlates with Haze s struggle in believing in a God or
believing in nothing. Eyesight is also referenced when analyzing a certain characters look on faith. If
a character truly believed in there being a Jesus Christ, their vision literally and metaphorically was
clear. Asa Hawks was portrayed as being blind however, he could see perfectly well. Towards the
end of the novel, when the Essex was pushed over the edge, the officer s eyes were noted as clear .
However, in Haze s case it took him to be blind before he could fully
Benefits Of Electronic Medical Record
Introduction
There are many benefits of using electronic medical record (EMR). This paper will discuss the
benefits of electronic medical record for the physicians, patients, and the healthcare organizations.
Benefits of EMR for Physicians There are so many benefits for physicians to use electronic medical
record, for example, they can eliminate a tremendous amount of paperwork since most of their
charting is done on the computer. Another advantage of using electronic medical record is the fact
that it allows for easy transfer of data or information to other departments or medical providers.
This ability of the electronic medical record helps to eliminate errors, it also less time consuming
and it prevents physicians and patients from repeating the same test. It also helps to prevent patients
from over exposing their body to unnecessary radiation. It is also important to note that healthcare
insurance is also enjoying this feature of the electronic medical record since they are saving money
whereby they will not have to pay for duplicate testing. The electronic medical record being able to
transfer patients data and information from one provider to the next is important since it allows
collaborations among various departments and healthcare facilities, also, physicians do not have to
worry about paperwork being misplaced or misfiled. Most patients find themselves at some time or
another gone to another healthcare facility that is not affiliated with their current
