CHAPTER III
METHODOLOGY
Research Design
This study aimed to enhance the service quality by addressing inadequate training
programs at Days Hotel by Wyndham Iloilo’s, hence the descriptive method and survey was
employed.
According to Mills (2021), a descriptive case study is one that is focused and detailed, in
which propositions and questions about a phenomenon are carefully scrutinized and articulated at
the outset. This articulation of what is already known about the phenomenon is called a
descriptive theory. It helps to specify the boundaries of the case, and it contributes significantly
to the rigor of the finished case study. The power and promise of a descriptive case study lie in
its potential for mining for abstract interpretations of data and theory development.
Moreover, Williams (2022) stated that, descriptive survey design is a crucial method
within survey methodology, assumed to provide a detailed overview of a population's
characteristics, behaviors, and opinions. This approach primarily focuses on collecting
quantitative data to describe patterns and trends within a sample. The purpose of descriptive
surveys is not to manipulate variables or establish causation but to gain insights into specific
phenomena as they naturally occur.

Participants of the Study
The participants of this study encompass a diverse range of stakeholders in the
Housekeeping Department at Days Hotel by Wyndham, who can provide valuable insights into
the hotel’s operations and performance.
Data Gathering
The data for this study is collected through a survey questionnaire specifically designed
to address the inadequacies in the housekeeping department's training programs. This survey,
tailored to align with the study's objectives, enables respondents to provide candid insights and
opinions on the training deficiencies, which they might be reluctant to express in a public setting.
By incorporating a questionnaire, the survey effectively captures nuanced feedback, facilitating a
comprehensive understanding of the training challenges and informing strategic improvements.
