ABSTRACT
The objectives of AICTE student activity is to expose students to real-time life challenges,
to provide the opportunity to gather data, analyze data, propose solutions and implement
solutions. Also, it paves the way for personal development and creative engineers who are
proud volunteers with a sense of achievement and ready to take up projects having a social
impact and creating digital awareness. Besides, it helps the students to strengthen their soft
skills, leadership qualities and team spirit. Moreover, these activities inculcate
entrepreneurial mindset and societal commitment.
This report gives a brief overview of the various activities we carried out, including the
National pulse polio program, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, raising awareness about the plastic
ban, raising awareness about the sanitary napkins , pipe composting, Water management,
teaching and guidance, waste aggregation and management, and other awareness
programmes.
This activity has broadened our knowledge base, which was made possible by mine and
my colleagues' participation in the numerous duties allotted to us. It's been a fantastic
experience in Upaleshwara (Uttara Kannada), Rajanukunte (Bengaluru), and it will be
extremely beneficial to us if we continue to build such platforms and immerse ourselves in
such social initiatives.

Activity Name: National pulse polio program.
Objectives:
1. Achieving Polio Eradication.
2. Maintaining High Vaccination Coverage.
3. Social Mobilization and Awareness.
The NPPP conducts regular immunization campaigns, known as pulse polio rounds,
where polio vaccines are administered to children across the country, regardless of their socio-
economic status or geographic location. These campaigns aim to reach out to remote and
underserved areas to ensure that every child receives the polio vaccine.
The success of the National Pulse Polio Program relies heavily on the participation and
support of various stakeholders, including healthcare workers, frontline workers, community
leaders, and parents. Social mobilization and awareness campaigns are conducted to create
awareness about the importance of polio immunization and to encourage participation in the
vaccination campaigns.

Theme/Activity Type: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
Objectives:
1. To promote cleanliness and hygiene in a wholistic manner.
2. To bring improvement in the quality of life in rural areas.
3. To encourage the concept of sustainable sanitation practices.
4. To create awareness about health and hygiene.
5. To Promote awareness about plastic ban.
6. To collect e-waste and give it for reuse.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the
Government of India that aimed to achieve an "open-defecation free" (ODF) India by 2 October
2019, the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi through construction of toilets.
An estimated 89.9 million toilets were built in the period.
The objectives of the first phase of the mission also included eradication of manual
scavenging, generating awareness and bringing about a behavior change regarding sanitation
practices, and augmentation of capacity at the local level. The second phase of the mission aims
to sustain the open defecation free status and improve the management of solid and liquid
waste, while also working to improve the lives of sanitation workers. The mission is aimed at
progressing towards target 6.2 of the Sustainable Development Goals Number 6 established by
the United Nations in 2015.

The campaign's official name is in Hindi i.e. Swachh Bharat. In English, it translates to
"Clean India Mission".

3. Encouraging Use of Sanitary Products.
4. Facilitating Safe and Hygienic Disposal.
This initiative aims to break the stigma associated with menstruation, promote hygienic
practices, and empower women with knowledge and access to menstrual hygiene products.
Community outreach programs often include interactive sessions, demonstrations, and

Activity Name: Spreading awareness about Plastic Ban.
Objectives:
1. To educate the public about the environmental, health, and economic impacts of plastic
pollution and the reasons behind the implementation of a plastic ban.
2. o raise awareness about the detrimental effects of single-use plastics on marine life,
ecosystems, and human health.
3. o showcase and promote eco-friendly alternatives to plastic products, such as reusable
bags, biodegradable packaging, and sustainable materials.
4. To inspire individuals to reduce their reliance on plastic products, minimize plastic
waste, and embrace a more sustainable lifestyle.
This event aims to educate and inform the community about the harmful effects of
plastic pollution on the environment and promote the adoption of eco-friendly alternatives.
This initiative is organized to raise awareness about the importance of reducing single-use
plastics and supporting policies and regulations that restrict the production, sale, and use of
plastic products.
In this initiative, we visit households and shops to educate residents and business
owners about the detrimental effects of plastic on the environment, wildlife, and human health.
We emphasize the urgent need to reduce plastic usage and encourage the adoption of eco-
friendly alternatives.
By engaging with residents and stakeholders at the grassroots level, this event
15
seeks to foster a culture of environmental responsibility and collective action towards
eliminating plastic waste and creating a cleaner, healthier community for everyone.

Activity Name: Wet and dry waste management and pipe compost
Objectives:
1. To educate participants about the importance of segregating and managing wet and
dry waste separately to reduce environmental pollution and promote recycling.
2. Promote Sustainable Practices
3. To demonstrate the process and benefits of pipe composting as an efficient and space-
saving method for composting kitchen waste at home.
4. To foster community engagement and participation in waste management initiatives,
empowering individuals to take responsibility for their waste and contribute to a
cleaner environment.
Our team's main goal was to collect and separate the dry and wet wastes and construct
as many pipe composts as possible in Upaleshwara residences. We described the pipe
composition to the residents detailing how it was built up imaginatively to transform trash into
manure. We learned a lot about how to reduce waste by turning it into manure in this activity.
It was incredible to see how people reacted and how amazed they were that we could
18
accomplish such a thing to reduce waste. We were blown away by the enthusiasm for
completing this activity. This was a fantastic opportunity for both myself and my team.

Event Name: Milk collecting and packing in milk dairy
Objectives:
1. Collecting milk efficiently and promptly helps maintain its freshness and quality.
2. Strict procedures during collection and packing minimize contamination and ensure
the safety of the milk for consumers.
Milk collecting and packing in a milk dairy involves several key steps to ensure the
quality and safety of the milk before it reaches consumers. Dairy farmers bring their raw milk
to the dairy facility where it undergoes initial testing for quality, including temperature and
visual checks for any abnormalities. The collected milk is then tested for various parameters
such as fat content, protein content, and bacterial count to ensure it meets the required
standards.

Activity Name: Blood donation
Objectives:
1. The primary objective of blood donation is to save lives by providing a constant and
adequate supply of blood and blood products to patients in need.
Upon arrival at the event, potential donors are greeted at a registration desk where they
provide their basic information and complete a donor registration form. Donors undergo a brief
medical screening process to check their eligibility for donation, which includes measuring
their hemoglobin levels, blood pressure, and body temperature. Donors are required to
complete a confidential health history questionnaire to assess their risk factors for transmissible
diseases.
Before donation, donors receive counseling to address any concerns or questions they
may have about the donation process. Trained phlebotomists or nurses collect approximately
450-500 ml of blood from each donor using sterile, single-use equipment. After donation,
31
donors are provided with refreshments and snacks to help them recover and replenish their

CONCLUSION
We emerged with the intention of providing assistance to the people from the start. And we
were pleased that our objectives remained consistent until the end, and that the residents of the
village could notice a difference as a result of our efforts. The Gram Panchayat was really
helpful to us, and they were overjoyed to see us achieve our goal. Perhaps as result of the
aforementioned issues, we set out to enhance the village for the betterment of the inhabitants.
Finally, we hope to continue providing services to the people of Upaleshwara.
