Abel Makkonen Tesfaye (Toronto, Ontario; February 16, 1990), known as The
Weeknd is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer of Ethiopian descent.
known for hits like "Blinding Lights", "Call Out My Name", "Starboy", "The
Hills, Can't Feel My Face and I Feel It Coming.
In 2013, he released his debut album titled 'Kiss Land', with the help of the singles
"Kiss Land" and "Live For". Their second recording, "Beauty Behind The Madness" is
returned in his first album to reach number one on the US chart
Billboard 200, and included the single that managed to enter the 'top three' in different
lists "Earned It" and produced the number one singles "The Hills" and "Can't Feel My
Face”. The latter arrived together at the top three positions on the list
Billboard Hot R&B Songs, becoming the only artist in 2015 to do so.
The Weeknd has won three Grammy Awards and has been nominated for an Award of the
Academy, 4 and nine Juno Awards. In September 2016, the release was announced
from their third studio album whose title would be 'Starboy', which later reached the
number one on the Billboard Hot 100.6

1990-2009: Primeros años de vida
Abel Makkonen Tesfaye1 nació el 16 de febrero de 1990, en Scarborough, Ontario,

On March 21, 2011, Tesfaye released for free through his website,
a mixtape of nine tracks titled "House of Balloons". With the production of
Illangelo and Doc McKinney, although he did not credit Rose for his cues.16 'House
of Balloons» was critically acclaimed for its sample of Happy House by Siouxsie
and the Banshees, and was named as one of the ten pre-candidates-
selected for the Polaris Music Prize 2011.23
In July, Tesfaye embarked on a tour and performed his first performance at the Mod Club
from Toronto. The hour and a half performance generated expectations about him. 24 His

He collaborated extensively with the rapper Drake, lending his voice to several tracks.

from The Weeknd's website, and it was well received by critics.27On the 2nd of
November 2011, The Weeknd releases a remix with DJ Illangelo Remix of the
song Marry the Night by Lady Gaga. In that same month, the third mixtape of The
Weeknd, titled 'Echoes of Silence', was released on December 21, 2011.
Since this release, the three mixtapes were collectively known as
"Balloons Trilogy", each received critical acclaim and growing support
of the fans of Tesfaye.
