26. A horse is tied to a peg at one corner of a square shaped grass field of side 15 m by
means of 5 m long rope. Find

(i) The area of that part of the field in which the horse can graze.
(ii) Find the increase in grazing area if the length of the rope increased to 10m.

27. If a quadrilateral ABCD is drawn to circumscribing a circle. Prove that AB + CD = AD +


BC.
28. Evaluate: 5cos2 600 + 4 sec2 300 -tan2450

the mass of the pole,given that 1cm3 of iron has approximatly 8gm mass.(use π
=3.14)

33. In a circle of radius 21cm,an arc subtends an angle of 600 at the centre.Find

(i)the length of the arc

(ii)area of the sector formed by the arc

(iii) the areas of the segment formed by the corresponding chord.(use π=22/7)

of the tower with a uniform speed. 6 seconds later, the angle of depresion of the car
is found to be 600. Find the time taken by the car to reach the foot of the tower
fromm this point.

OR

The angle of elevation of an aero plane from a point on the ground is 600.After a
flight of 15 seconds, the angle of elevation changes to 300.If the aero plane is flying at a
constant height of 1500√3meters, find the speed of the aero plane.

36. It is common that government revise travel fares from time to time based on various
factors such as inflation (a general increase in prices and fall in the purchasing value
of money )on different type of vehicals like auto rickshaws, taxis, radiocab etc.The
auto charges in a city comprise of a fixed charge together with the charge for the

distance covered.

Study the following situation and answer the question.

(i) If the fixed charges of auto rickshaw be x and the running charges be y
per km,find the pair of equations representing the situation?
(ii) A person travels a distance of 50km.How much amount he has to pay?
Refer Situation 2:

(iii) What will a person have to pay for travelling a distance of 30km.

37. A and B represents points on the bank of the river on opposite sides,so that AB is the
width of the river.P is a point on the bridge.
(i). What should be the length of AP,if the height of the bridge is 15m?(ɵ=300 )
(ii). Degree measure of angle APB?
(iii).What should be the width of the river,if the height of bridge is 15m?

38. If parallel lines cut off congrent segments on one transversal,then they cut off

the tree is 15m,and the length of her shadow is 3m,how tall is the tree?
