1. Introduction
This document provides step-by-step instructions for setting up a merged client,
performing a client copy, and activating SAP Best Practices in an SAP system.

2. Prerequisites

2.1 Check Table /FTI/T_NOCLN000


- Use transaction SE16N.

- Enter table /FTI/T_NOCLN000.

- Ensure that the client 100 does not exist in the table.

2.2 Verify Conversion Factors (TCURF Table)


- Use transaction SE16N to open table TCURF.

- Review type 'M' entries (Standard translation at average rate).

- If necessary, adjust currency translation ratios with a validity date later than 01.01.1800.

3. Client Creation

3.1 Create a New Client in SCC4


1. Open transaction SCC4.

2. Click New Entries and configure as follows:

3. Save and activate the client.

4. User Setup

4.1 Verify User Authorizations


- Open transaction SU01.

- Check that Tester1 has the following roles:

- SAP_ALL

- SAP_NEW
- Any additional roles required for Best Practices activation.

- If needed, assign missing roles using PFCG.

5. Client Copy from 000 to 100

5.1 Perform the Client Copy


1. Log in to Client 000 as Tester1.

2. Run transaction SCCLN.

3. Select Client 100 as the target.

4. Choose a copy profile:

- SAP_UCUS (User-defined Customizing and Users)

- SAP_CUST (Customizing only)

- SAP_CUSV (Customizing including variants)

- SAP_UCSV (User-defined Customizing including variants)

5. Start the client copy as a background job.

6. Monitor progress using SCC3.

6. Best Practices Activation

6.1 Activate Best Practices Content


1. Log in to Client 100 using Tester1.

2. Open transaction /n/SMB/BBI.

3. Select the required Best Practices Solution.

4. Start the activation process.

5. Monitor activation and troubleshoot errors if necessary.

- After activation, consider locking or restricting Tester1 to prevent unauthorized access.
