Supervisor /Project Guide : Mrs. S.ESTHER JENIFA AP/ECE

Objective
• The main goal of this project is to develop a smart IoT-based Battery
Management System (BMS) for electric vehicles (EVs).
• Ensures efficient battery performance.
• Provides real-time charge monitoring for better battery control.
• Includes advanced fire detection and protection mechanisms for safety.
• Aims to optimize battery health and extend its lifespan.
• Provides early warnings for potential hazards.
• Ensures a safer and more reliable experience for EV users.
Abstract
• The system is designed using an Arduino Uno microcontroller.
• Tracks key battery parameters continuously: Temperature, Voltage, Current
• Uses a motor driver (LN298D) to control the vehicle’s movement.
• Movement can be directed using an Android app connected via a Bluetooth
HC-05 module.
• Safety features include:
A fire sensor that disconnects the battery during fire hazards.
A 5V relay module that cuts off power during overheating.
• Displays real-time battery status on an LCD screen.
• Buzzer alerts notify users about critical conditions.
Existing Method
• Alerts are local, using LEDs or buzzers only.

• No real-time remote monitoring or IoT integration.

• EV BMS solutions use separate modules with:

Sensors & Microcontrollers like the Arduino Uno for monitoring and control.

• Common issues in traditional systems:

Delayed response time
Integration problems
Limited communication capability.

• Lack of advanced features like, No fire detection & automatic power

disconnection.
Drawbackof Existing Method
• Lack of Real-Time Monitoring & No Remote Control

• Wired Connectivity Limitations

• Absence of Fire Detection

• Limited Overheating Protection

• No Automated Safety Response

• Basic Alerts Only

• Low System Efficiency

Proposed Method
• Introduces an IoT-based Battery Management System (BMS) for Evs.

• Monitors voltage, current, and temperature in real-time.

• Includes safety features:

A fire sensor for automatic battery disconnection.
A 5V relay to cut off power during overheating.

• Enables vehicle control via an Android app using Bluetooth HC-05.

• Real-time alerts are provided through an LCD display and buzzer.

• Ensures : Efficient battery management, Enhanced safety and Improved overall

performance
Advantages of Proposed Method
