ACTIVITY DESIGN
I. TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY: Math Month Celebration 2025
RATIONALE:
The 2025 Math Month Celebration will be centered around the
theme, “Numeracy Quest: Olympics Challenges for Future
Innovation” to help students see how vital math is in our daily lives. This
exciting theme uses the globally recognized context of the Olympics to
show students that numbers aren't just for textbooks; they are essential
for everything from sports analytics and technology to strategic thinking.
By encouraging schools to create their own math-based Olympic activities,
we hope to inspire a new generation to view mathematics not as a boring
subject, but as a powerful tool for solving real-world challenges and
driving future innovation.
OBJECTIVES
This activity design aims to:
a. to foster a deeper appreciation for mathematics as a fundamental
tool for problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovation.
b. to connect mathematical concepts to real-world applications,
particularly in the context of sports, technology, and future-oriented
fields.
c. to enhance students' numeracy skills through engaging,
challenging, and collaborative activities.
