Case based study
1. Bone is a solid, hard tissue. It forms the natural skeleton and gives the body its basic structure.
It also provides support to the body. The matrix of the bone is composed in such a way that
provides hardness to it. The matrix also contains ossein protein. The matrix is arranged in
concentric rings which are called lamellae.
(I) The matrix of the bone is hard due to the presence of
(A) Carbon dioxide and water. (B) Carbon dioxide and oxygen
(C) Sulphates of hydrogen (D) Phosphate and calcium
(II) What are haversian canals and what is their function?

2. Mr. Ram was getting late for the office. So he was driving his scooter at full speed. Suddenly a
cow crossed the road and he lost control over his bike and due to over speed he met with an
accident. He was rushed to the nearby hospital to get first aid. Doctor examined him and
suggested for x-ray of his right leg immediately. On viewing the x-ray doctor said that he has
fractured his bone, and he has few minor injuries as well.
Doctor suggested him complete bed rest and plastered his leg.
(I) The bone is connected to muscle with the help of:
(A) Tendon (B) Ligament (C) Dendrite (D) Axon
(II) Bone is connected to bone with:
(A) Tendon (B) Ligament (C) Dendrite (D) Axon
