Classifying Angles
Objectives
IDENTIFY THE PARTS OF ANGLES.
CLASSIFY ANGLES AS ACUTE, RIGHT, OBTUSE, OR
STRAIGHT.
Angles
formed by two rays.
has a common endpoints called vertex.
designate the measure of a rotation.
Rays – one end point
Vertex – union of the rays
3 parts of Angles
Vertex – the union of the
rays
Initial side – rotation started
Terminal side – side of the
angle that rotated
There are 4 basic types of angles:
Acute – has measurement between 0°-90°
Right – exact measurement of 90°
Obtuse – has measurement between 90°-180°
Straight – exact measurement of exactly 180°
Acute angles
measures less than 90°
