Classifying Angles: Identify The Parts of Angles. Classify Angles As Acute, Right, Obtuse, or Straight. Objectives

The document defines and classifies different types of angles. An angle is formed by two rays that share a common endpoint called a vertex. There are four basic types of angles: acute angles measure between 0 and 90 degrees; right angles measure exactly 90 degrees; obtuse angles measure between 90 and 180 degrees; and straight angles measure exactly 180 degrees. The document provides examples to identify each angle type.

Classifying Angles

Objectives
 IDENTIFY THE PARTS OF ANGLES.
 CLASSIFY ANGLES AS ACUTE, RIGHT, OBTUSE, OR
STRAIGHT.
Angles
 formed by two rays.
 has a common endpoints called vertex.
 designate the measure of a rotation.

Rays – one end point

Vertex – union of the rays
3 parts of Angles

Vertex – the union of the

rays
Initial side – rotation started
Terminal side – side of the
angle that rotated
There are 4 basic types of angles:

 Acute – has measurement between 0°-90°

 Right – exact measurement of 90°
 Obtuse – has measurement between 90°-180°
 Straight – exact measurement of exactly 180°
