 Need for escape or change-they are seeking for a


change in their life and familiarity
 Travel for health-thinking that by doing so they will be
able to regain one’s energy and interest at the same time
enthusiasm for the job.
 Sports-people demand activity and excitement during
their leisure hours to relieve them from the boredom of
their work
 Social contact-human beings are social animals. they
need contact and communication with others.

 Status and prestige-travel provides the means of mingling


with the wealthy and social elite, at the same time this gives
the traveler the feeling of superiority.

 Psychocentrics- people centered on self,
unadventuresome. Have the strong desire
for consistency and the familiar, they look for
experiences that will not result in personal
stress or involve in unusual situation
 Allocentrics- the people having interest and
attention on other persons, are highly curios
and thrive on stimulation and change

 The cost of the trip is shouldered by the
company. hence, travel is not
influenced by personal income.

 It is given by firms to employees as a
reward for some accomplishments or to

 Are also called non business travelers, their demand
for business travel is elastic, meaning they are
concern with the cost of travel, since it is the traveler
himself who shoulder it. They travel for purposes.

 Resort travelers are better educated,
have higher house hold income and are
more likely to have professional
managerial positions.

children, making it possible to do
something different that will bring the
family closer together

 They are the active “affluent’s”, and
have the desire to travel extensively at
the same time they search for Learning
Experience, Cultural Enrichment,
Socialization and etc..
Travel Constraints
 1.) Lack of Money- this is the major travel
constraints, lack of money means less travel
 2.) Lack of Time- the desire to travel and the
financial ability to travel are insufficient if one does
not have the time to travel, you may have plenty of
money but less time available.
 3.) Lack of Safety and Security- people won’t go to a
dangerous place they would prefer to remain in the
security of their neighborhood and home.

 4.) Physical Disability- people experiencing
bad health or physical handicap would prefer
to stay at their home than to travel.
 5.) Family Commitments- family commitment
inhibit travel. Parents with young children find
it inconvenient and expensive to go on holiday
 6.) Lack of Interest to Travel- an individual
would prefer to stay at home if he dislike to
travel, shy of meeting other people and dislike
changing daily routine etc.

 7.) Fears-some people don’t want to travel because
of fears to travel. Fears of the unknown holds people
from traveling
