Behavior-Based Safety (BBS)

Behavior-based safety (BBS) is a proactive approach to safety and injury prevention that focuses on at-risk behaviors that can lead to injury and safe behaviors that can prevent injury. BBS defines behaviors, observes behaviors, intervenes when unsafe behaviors are observed, and tests interventions to improve safety. The goal of BBS is to develop a strong safety culture within an organization and encourage individual participation in safety to ultimately achieve an accident-free workplace.
