MK Dons made it four wins in a row in League Two after a 3-1 victory over Crewe.

Will Collar put MK Dons ahead before Alex Gilbey scored two goals either side of half-time. Louis Moult scored a late consolation for the visitors.

Success continues the Dons' positive form, while Crewe missed out on the chance to jump above their hosts in the table after suffering a second consecutive defeat.

The hosts had won their previous three and they took the lead in the 23rd minute. Crewe failed to clear Callum Paterson's cross, and Marvin Ekpiteta teed up Collar, whose snapshot found the back of the net.

Gilbey made it 2-0 in the 40th minute as he controlled Nathaniel Mendez-Laing's deflected cross and guided the ball past Tom Booth.

The MK Dons captain grabbed his second in the 57th minute after he received Aaron Nemane's pass and fired home.

Crewe grabbed a late consolation as Moult bundled in from a corner during the 10th minute of added time, but it was not enough to prevent a home victory.
