Cheltenham Town climbed out of the relegation zone as Steve Cotterill remains undefeated in League Two with a 2-0 victory over now bottom Newport County.
A brace of outside the box volleys from midfielder Luke Young was difference between the two teams, who came into this afternoon 23rd and 24th in the league.
The first for Young came in the 20th minute, when Exiles goalkeeper Jordan Wright's poor clearance found the 32-two year old, and he was left to strike the ball into an empty net.
It would be another poor clearance, this time off the head of Joe Thomas, that would find Young's foot, with his shot flying into Wright's bottom corner to double Cheltenham's lead.
Despite Newport controlling the majority share of the possession, the best chances came to the visitors on the counter-attack.
County's best chance would come at the hour mark, when Kai Whitmore danced into the penalty area only to see his shot hit the post, and Bobby Kamwa's follow-up found the side netting.Match report to appear here.
