In order to complete this correctly, you need to add stage directions for
your actors

Wrong Car
A short film by Joseph Ruffell
Based on the work of Joseph Ruffell

INT. CAR – GOLF

A family of four are in the car the children are looking out
the window sad and the mum is looking forward and the dad is
driving everyone is silent and the car is filled with
awkwardness. The silence is broken by the satnav.

SATNAV
Take a left in the next three hundred yards on the road to the
middle of nowhere.

INT. SCHOOL – CLASSROOM


Before the scene flashes back to the class room, there is an
l-cut, so the classroom sounds can be heard beforehand. Then
class room is loud, and Luke goes to sit down and is called
just before.

TEACHER
Luke could come to my office please.

The class goes silent and Luke slowly moves toward the door
INT. SCHOOL – TEACHER’S OFFICE
They both sit down, and it is silent before they talk
the scene fades away and goes back to the car.

INT. CAR – GOLF


The car is still silent the camera then zooms in on the April
and then fades to the next scene.

EXT. outside collage - path


April is walking along the path with her headphones after a
while Luke is seen running to catch up with her he taps her on

The shoulder and she turns around looking angry, she stops and
starts to speak.
APRIL
What?!
April sees that it is her brother and her face is lifted to a
more expressionless smile.
LUKE
We could run away.
April laughs and replies laughing.
APRIL
There’s no running away.
INT. CAR – GOLF
The car is still silent the camera then zooms in on the dad
and then fades to the next scene.

INT. HOUSE – LIVIVNG ROOM


The dad is pacing back and forth he is the only one in the
room and you can tell that he is on edge by his body language.
After a while the phone rings he immediately picks up the
phone and hangs up. It then rings again, and he hangs up. This
happens multiple times until it l-cuts back to the car
still hearing the ring until it goes to voice mail.

INT. CAR – GOLF


The car is still silent, but it is broken again but
this time the mums phone, the dad looks over, she shows the
dad her phone and then he looks at it before he says anything
the mum speaks.

MUM
Should I answer it?

DAD
No what are you crazy?

The dad grabs the phone and throws it out the window. April
watches and smiles, the camera then pans to the mum and fades
to another scene but before is fully fades the car stopes the
camera shakes.

EXT. FORREST – JUST BY THE CAR


It is dark and dingy, and the ground is muddy. Music starts
playing and the get out of the car and walk off it fades to
black with the music still going and the credits role.
