Video Design
Title: Using Moodle to enhance classroom instruction
Educational purpose: The purpose of this video is to inform teachers of the benefits of using
Moodle, familiarize them with the administrative functions within Moodle, and demonstrate
resources that are available to teachers wishing to create a Moodle for their course.
Learning objectives: Spring branch Teachers will be able to apply at least five administrative
features of Moodle and utilize a minimum of three educational resources by creating links while
developing an instructional Moodle for their courses.
Intended audience (be specific): Primary and Secondary teachers in Spring Branch Independent
School District. Spring Branch has a Fedora Linux server set up where teachers can add Moodle
courses.
Intended duration of the audio: Ten Minutes
What department and/or departments will be able to utilize the instruction?
All educational departments (district wide professional development), Human Resources,
Curriculum and Instruction, and the Technology Director
Detailed recommendation of how this audio should be utilized within an education
environment: It should be used during professional development workshops and teacher in-
service training sessions. It should be shown at the beginning of a workshop on creating
Moodles.
Script Approval: Human resources director, Technology director
Learning methodology: Constructivism and Connectivism. While this video is a direct
instructional unit, the purpose is to serve as an introduction video to a workshop session that will
be constructivist in nature. The purpose is to get teachers thinking about Moodle and the ways

that the learning management system can help them. Teachers will be responsible for
developing their own site this video just provides an introduction to getting around Moodle.
