INTRODUCTION
This study is developed to create an electronic and entrance / exit logging system using I.D barcode scanner.
School ID System is also a great way to secure the school inside and outside. It is also made to help the security of
the campus; this will also verify all of the students and teachers if they are attending their classes or not.
Today software is an essential way and innovative solution which most of the organizations both private
and public school use. This system processes to have an efficient and effective information management. Researches
know the fact that organizations whether commercial or educational need to maintain a proper entrance and exit
record for its better security and effective functioning of the campus.
In most academic institutions in developing countries, many academic institutions are beginning to update
their standard by using students identification card that are equiped with bar code or QR code.
Cavite State University - Cavite City Campus is not using this system. If the campus has this school ID
System that uses ID barcode scanner, the entry and exit of the students and teachers within the school premises will
be tracked.Bar code identification is one of the automatic identification technologies more in vorgue nowadays. A

barcode is an optical machine readable representation that contains data relating to the object in which it is attached.
Statement of the Problem
This study aims to develop a School ID System for Cavite State University, Cavite City Campus.
Specifically, this study seeks to answer the following question:
1.) How does this system improve the school?
2.) How does the system work?
3.) How would it serve as a form of protection for the students, teachers and staff?
Objectives of the Study
This study aims to develop a School ID System to improve the security of Cavite State University, Cavite
City Campus.
Specifically, this study aims to:
1.) turn the manual system into automated system.
2.) develop a system using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 as the programming language and Microsoft Access of
the database of the system;
3.) test and improve the system for evaluating the system using Visual Basic and Microsoft Access; and
4.) evaluate the system using ISO 9126.
Significance of the Study
This study will be beneficial to the following:

Students. Through the help of this research, students will be able to know the importance of having School ID.
School ID System technique can pave the way of producing better security, learnings and discipline.
Teachers. In this study, School ID will serve as their entry and exit pass for their attendance, through this reaserch
they may purposefully discover how School ID System is conductive to discipline.
Campus. Through the help of this system, Cavite State University – Cavite City Campus will have a safe and better
security. It also prevent the outsiders who are not students or not enrolled in the school who pass by
guards to make way of going inside the school.
Security Management. Through the help of this system, they can easily monitors the students who enter and exits
the school.
Time and Place of the Study
The study will be conducted at Cavite State University – Cavite City Campus located at Pullo II, Dalahican
Cavite City from August 2018 to December 2018.
Scope and Limitation of the Study
The study is about developing a School ID System to help the school to establish a secured security and
to monitor the arrival and departure of the students who are enrolled in the particular semester of the year and
teachers. It will also serve as an entry pass for the students and teachers.

It displays information of the students and teachers and the time / date of entrance and exit through tapping
of their ID into the barcode scanner machine. If the ID is lost, the ID can be easily blocked through system controls
and it cannot be used anymore.
In this system staffs personnel are not included, It does not serve as an attendance in every subjects and
cannot be used by another person.
Definition of Terms
The following words are operationally defined to enable the readers to a better understanding and more
comprehensive knowledge on this study.
School ID. It is used to prove students and teachers identity. It is typically printed, with a photo, name, student ID
number, address and other relevant information about the holder.
Automated. It means to run or operate by using machines, computers etc. instead of people to do work.
Manual. It means operated only with the hands and without electric power; it means being controlled by a person.
School ID System. It is a computer software solution containing the important information about the students. It is
capable for monitoring, storing information and producing reports of students and teachers daily entrance and exit
records.
Record. It is a thing constituting a piece of evidence about the past, especially an account of an act or occurrence
kept in writing or some other permanent form and it is a completion of all data gathered.

This study makes use of the system’s analysis of input, process, and output. The input block consists of
the knowledge requirements such as from Cavite State University – Cavite City Campus,manual system,
automated system, and system process.
It also includes software requirements,programming language or tool that the developers will use in creating
the system such as Visual Basic Studio 2010, and Microsoft Access.
The hardware requirements are the computer / laptop, bar code scanner, and printer to show output data.
Process block is composed of system analysis such as requirement analysis and definition.system
development is a program for flowchart and coding while testing and improving are the processes of checking the
system to store and debug an error.

Output block presents the final product that the study accomplished which is the School ID System of
Cavite State University – Cavite City Campus.
Lastly, the output phase, the School ID System of Cavite State University – Cavite City Campus will be
developed. It will be evaluated according to ISO 9126.
