“Count Me In Too”
PESC Numeracy Program SY 2021-2022
By: LUIS V. SALENGA
School Math coordinator/Master Teacher II
I. Name of Project: Count Me In Too
II. Rationale:
PESC numeracy program has been implemented and existing in our school SY 2019-2020. This program aims to cater the needs of every learner
to learn the basic operations in Mathematics. The project program Count Me In Too will be launched this school year 2021-2022. The primary goal of this
program is to help learners improve their numeracy skills.
It has become a matter of concern of all Mathematics teachers on how to develop and improve learner’s numeracy skills since then. The pandemic
has brought challenges not only to teachers but most especially to learners but with the birth of the Count Me In Too program, this will help learners develop their
Mathematical skills. The Count Me In Too program will have facilitators, the Mathematics teachers, who will be called Count Me In Too facilitators and the
struggling learners in Mathematics. Count Me In Too facilitators, should focus a deeper and shared understanding of the learning framework among the learners.
They must be consistent and focus on the improvement of the learners’ numeracy skills. This program will commence after giving assessment to all learners from
grade 1 to grade 6. All learners will be given a 20-item test which have 5 items for each basic operation, whether in google form, printed material, google meet
and the like. The level of difficulty of the test must within the grade level’s required skills. The Count Me In Too program will cater learners who will get 25%
of the test which is equal to 5-item correct answer. After determining the target learners of the program, the Count Me In Too Facilitators will allot thirty (30)
minutes to one (1) hour reaching these learners and implement the planned learning framework. Facilitators may provide interesting activities, online games and
exercises that will enhance their numeracy skills. These activities may provide the correct avenues in learning basic operations in Math without forcing the learners
because they are learning while having fun.
Why Count Me In Too? Because at the end of the program implementation, all catered learners of the said program will be given post test to
determine their numeracy skills. All learners who get 75 % of the test will then be included in the list as passers of Count Me In Too program, thus will mean
they already have the required skills in the grade level where they belong. For those who get a score lower than 75% will be automatically included as the priority
list in the next implementation of the program.
In the absence of face-to-face teaching and learning instructions, Paranaque Elementary School Central still believes that online platforms and the
use of printed learning materials are the necessity weapons to achieve goals in education.
This Count Me In Too program in coordination with Brigada Eskwela 2021 will strengthen its partnership with the learners’ parents and other
stakeholders who could extend donations for the recipients of the Count Me In Too program and to the success of its implementation.
III. Objectives:
Terminal Objectives:
Develop learners’ numeracy skills by acquiring necessary skills and concept gearing towards mastery of solving numbers involving the four
fundamental operations through Count Me In Too program.
Enabling Objectives:
At the end of the implementation of the program, learners should be able to:
1. get 75% of the given posttest.
2. improve their numeracy skills, the basic operations in Math.
3. gain self-confidence in answering Mathematical problems involving the four fundamental operations in Math.
