i. Your friend has recently asked you to deliver an item of value to a relative.
Unfortunately this item was lost during the journey. You need to explain this in a letter to
your friend. Your letter must include the following points:
 When and how the item was lost
 Your attempt to find it
 An offer to replace or pay for the item
Cover all three points in detail. You should make your letter polite and apologetic. Start
your letter with “Dear (name)” and remember to give a proper ending.

ii. Your school has asked you to organise a project to help some people in your community.
You need to find as many people to join the cause. You decide to write a letter to your
elder brother who lives abroad to join this project with other volunteers from abroad.
Your letter should include the following:
 Details of people you are helping
 Details of the project you are organizing
 What other people can do to help

iii. You recently attended a wedding. Unfortunately, your aunt missed the occasion and

 Details of the most interesting moment of the ceremony
Make sure your letter is friendly and informative. You can add further

3. Read the abridged form of the novels “Oliver Twist” and “Great Expectations” by
Charles Dickens and write book reviews.
Your review must include:
 Title and author’s name
 List of the main characters
 Vocabulary with meanings (15-20 words)
 A summary of the story’s plot (180-200 words)
 Give your balanced opinion about the book, including some of its positives and
some of its negatives.

4. Watch this movie “Kung Fu Panda 2008” and write a review. Include following points in
your review.
