INDUCTION

What is an induction ceremony?

An induction ceremony is a time marker, a beginning; it is a ceremony where Ambassadors

are admitted in to the local Ambassador clubs and in to the fellowship of the world wide
Ambassador clubs. Ambassadors and staff have the opportunity to publicly show their
commitment to the principles and objectives of Ambassador Club. Promises are made and
principles are recited, at the end we all – Ambassador, staff and church members, leave
with a sense of commitment and purpose.
NB: Due to the more relaxed informal format of the Ambassador Club when compared to Pathfinder Clubs, Induction
Ceremonies are not required however; local clubs desiring to have them are most welcome to adopt a simple, but inspiring
format. This document just works as a guideline.

AMBASSADOR
Induction

Ambassador Director - ____________________________________________

I hereby declare the induction ceremony of the Ambassador Club now in order.

For the light of our program we turn to the Spirit of Ambassador. The candle which I now light represents this spirit. It is
the Spirit of Adventure, Fun, Learning, Camaraderie, Awareness, and Awakening, and above all, a Spirit of Reverence and a
Spirit of Service to God and man. This candle represents the light that Ambassadors shed on this dark world. It stands for
shining Ambassador examples, showing how the Christian life is happy, healthful and filled with service to others.

This light is, of itself, NOT complete or sufficient. To introduce the complementary lights we call on our Ambassador Staff to
assist in the ceremony.

Deputy Director - ____________________________________________

The Special AY Class is a course of study for youth joining Ambassador who have never had the opportunity to
participate in a Pathfinder Club nor had the AY/Pathfinder Classes available at the age-appropriate times.

Deputy Director - ____________________________________________

The Master Guide Level is a course of study that will help one to lead young people, to a greater knowledge and
relationship to our Lord Jesus, our Savior. Jesus, through Isaiah said, “I will lead the blind in a way they know not, in paths
they have not known, I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light and the rough places into level
ground.” A Master Guide is an experienced leader of Christian Youth, training them for service to God. A Master Guide is to
exemplify the Fruits of the Spirit, and the Character of our Heavenly Father, and the Characteristics of Jesus Christ, our
personal Master Guide.

Deputy Director - ____________________________________________

The Youth Leadership Award is designed to train those persons who have a burden for the senior youth of the
Seventh-day Adventist Church. They may have been asked to lead out in local church AY Societies or Ambassador Club, they
are simply persons who relish the challenge of leadership training and are happy to contribute to the spiritual welfare of
the youth in general in their churches.

Ambassador Director - ___________________________________

The Spirit of Ambassador candle represents the good things in the Ambassador program. It represents the high ideals for
which the club stands and the growth that each Ambassador will make as a club member.
We will now light the Adventist Youth Aim candle.

Person 1- __________________________
Sir/Madam, I represent the candidates whose Aim is, “The Advent message to all the world in my generation”.
My relationship to Jesus Christ is of such a nature that it compels me to share the gospel with any who will receive it—the
good news of salvation and Jesus’ soon return.

Deputy Director - __________________________________________

On behalf of the _________________________ Ambassadors, I accept the candidate’s vow to live by the AY Aim.

AY Leader - ____________________________________________

Let us proceed with the ceremony of lighting the AY Motto candle.

Person 2- __________________________
Sir/Madam, I represent the candidates, whose Motto is, “The love of Christ compels me.”

I am drawn to Him by His exemplary life, the symbolic act of His crucifixion, His conquering resurrection, and His promise
of an earth made new in the pattern of the original creation. The closer I get to Him, the closer I find myself identifying with
the needs of my fellow human beings.

AY Associate Leader - __________________________________________

On behalf of the _________________________ Ambassadors, I accept the candidate’s vow to live by the AY Motto.

AY Leader - ____________________________________________

Let us proceed with the ceremony of lighting the Ambassador Foundation/ Modules candles.

Person - 1 __________________________
Sir/Madam, on behalf of the candidates, I will explain the Discipleship Module.
This module deals with how to help youth become disciples and stay committed to that way of life. Extensive presentation
on the psychological aspect of youth leadership is given. Growth and nurture group leaders specializing in the spiritual
well-being of their members will find resources in this module to accomplish all that might be desired whether in youth or
family situations. The ultimate objective is discipling others to the Lord and equipping them to share in this experience.
Person - 2 __________________________
Sir/Madam, on behalf of the candidates, I will explain the Leadership Module.
This module incorporates aspects of training and actual practice of those activities required for senior leadership, and
includes both philosophical base and practical practices. Emphasis is placed on qualities of idea leadership, the psychology
of leadership, leadership styles and functions, and practical matters such as how to chair a committee or business
meeting.

Person - 3 __________________________
Sir/Madam, on behalf of the candidates, I will explain the Outreach (Personal, small group and public evangelism)
Module.
This module teaches Ambassadors today on how to grow into a lifestyle of evangelism, it challenges the Ambassador on
how they should make disciples of others. It seeks to orient building a lifestyle that includes various efforts: personal
ministry, developing your testimony, small group life, and public evangelism. All these elements are connected to the work
of evangelism Christ commanded His disciples to do in Matthew 28:19, 20.

Person - 4 __________________________
Sir/Madam, on behalf of the candidates, I will explain the Outdoor (Personality, character, and outdoor adventure)
Module.
This module covers the basics of human personality, the most important traits of good character, the relationship of
personality and character to Christian growth and maturity, and the opportunities for character growth in outdoor
adventure pursuits.

Person - 5 __________________________
Sir/Madam, on behalf of the candidates, I will explain the Vocation (Lifestyle and vocational training) Module.
This module begins with foundational insights about planning and preparing for success, followed by practical challenges to
listen for and learn how to plan in order to be effective in work and life in general. It teaches through biblical examples how
our relationships with others, and our aptitude can be ways that God guides in our character, calling, and vocational
considerations. Throughout this module you will discover that God is calling for a generation to know the difference
between temporary and eternal things.

Person - 6 __________________________
Sir/Madam, on behalf of the candidates, I will explain the Relationship (Friendship and relationship skill development)
Module.
This module challenges the followers of Christ to participate in the reconciling work of humanity to God. This ultimately
begins with God modeling this work then incorporating His followers to cooperate with Him to restore what is broken. This
module covers a wide range of applications to one concept—the value of relationships. God demonstrates His relationship
to humanity. Humanity seeks to mirror God’s relationship to us through forgiveness and openness. There are human
relationships that need to grow on a biblical foundation.

Person - 7 __________________________
Sir/Madam, on behalf of the candidates, I will explain the Community (Community outreach development) Module.
This module provides strategies for reaching out to our neighbors and communities from a ministry philosophy known as
Christian Community Development (CCD). This module teaches a holistic approach to ministry which engages the spiritual,
social, economic, political, cultural, emotional, physical, moral, judicial, educational, and familiar dynamics of an individual
and community in order to bring about Kingdom transformation. The ministry philosophy of Christian Community
Development works holistically to transform both the individual and the community in which they live so that there is no
need to move from the neighborhood.
