5 MCSS Event Log Operation
Events are logged whenever the MCSS detects an error in the system. Events are first
stored in the MCSS RAM, and then transferred to the MCSS EEPROM whenever a
Power Failure is detected.

The Events are stored in two ways,

1. The MCSS Event Counter - M-2-2-3

2. The MCSS Event Log - M-2-2-4

5.1 MCSS Event Counter

The Event counter is used to display information about when, and how many Events
have occurred since the last reset of the counter.

To access the Event Counter stored in RAM,

Press M-2-2-3-1

To access the Event Counter stored in EEPROM,

Press M-2-2-3-2

The Event Counter stores four categories of Events,

1. COMM - Communications events between MCSS and other subsystems

2. SFTY - Safety related events monitored by the MCSS
3. DBSS - Events related to the Drive and Brake Subsystem
4. MOTN - Motion related events monitored by the MCSS

(see section 4.5 above for a description of each Event)

5.2 MCSS Event Log
The Event Log will store 25 separate Events. The 5 most recent Log Entries
(01 - 05) will also include a 'snapshot' of system at the time of the Event. Entry 01 in
the Log is the most recent Event, entry 25 is the oldest.

To access the MCSS Event Log,

Press M-2-2-4
To access the RAM Log,

Press M-2-2-4-1
To access the EEPROM Log,

Press M-2-2-4-2

The 'snapshot', is a list of system parameters that are stored with each Event when a
fault occurs. Use these parameters to determine what the elevator was doing at the
time of the fault. The parameters are grouped under 5 headings;

1. Motion
2. Position
3. Discrete Outputs
4. Safety
5. Discrete Inputs
