viewed movie genres in US cinemas in three years 1995,2000 and 2005 as a

percentage of the total earnings of the US film industry for each year.

10-year period, especially adventure and drama had changed the most.
Furthermore, adventure, comedy, animation made considerably a profit than the
others.
Looking at the graph most closely, one see that adventure movies made up
approximately 13 percent of the industry’s profits in 1995 and then fell slightly in
2000 with one-tenths of profits before rising heavily in 2005, nearly a quarter of the
total and became the second highest. In 2000, comedy movie became the most
profitable genres with 25 percent which above its figure in 1995 with one-fifths and
still stayed at the highest in 2005 with nearly 27 percent. The animation grew
steadily from 1995 to 2005 and still stayed at the smallest grossing genre except year
2005.
Moving to the remainder, drama movies were the most profitable movie
genre in 1995 before shrinking consistently and hit the low of 15 percent in 2005.An
upward trend was seen in thriller and musical films from 1995 to 2000 and had the
equal profit, then decreased slightly in 2005. Action films accounted for more than
15 percent in 1995 and then decreased gradually from 2000 to 2005,with 15 and 13
percent respectively.
