ASSIGNMENT-02

1. Using 741 Op-amp, design a square wave

generator for an oscillating frequency of 8 KHz.
Simulate the circuit and obtain the waveform across
the capacitor and output terminal. Mark time period
and peak - peak output voltage on the waveform.
Theory:The square wave generator is defined as an
oscillator that gives the output without any input.
Without any input in the sense, we should give
input within zero seconds that means it must be an
impulse input. This generator is used in digital
signal processing and electronic applications.
Design:
Given oscillating frequency:8Khz
R1=11.6k ohm
R2=1.16R1==10k ohm(std value)
f0=1/2RC
C=0.1 micro farad
Now feedback resistance=1/2*8khz*0.1
is 330 ohm

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM :
WAVEFORMS :

RESULTS:the value of capacitor assumed is 0.1 micro

farad
The value of 1/delta t is 1/8khz=0.12ms
Vout peak to peak value is 10.4v
CONCLUSIONS:
The square wave generator is defined as an oscillator
that gives the output without any input. Without any input
in the sense, we should give input within zero seconds
that means it must be an impulse input. This generator
is used in digital signal processing and electronic
applications.

2. Using 741 Op-amp, design a triangular wave

generator for an oscillating frequency of 8 KHz
and peak to peak output voltage of 7V. Simulate the
circuit and obtain the waveform across the output
terminal of op-amp1 and op-amp2. Mark time period and
peak - peak output voltage on the waveform.
Theory:
Triangular waves are periodic, non-sinusoidal waveform
with a triangular shape. A triangular wave Is that it has
equal rise and fall times while a sawtooth wave has
unequal rise and fall times. To generate a triangular
waveform, a square wave is passed through an
integrator.

DESIGN:
f0=8khz
C=feedback capacitor of op-amp=0.047 micro farad
R2/R3=Vo/2 Vsat
R2=10k ohm
R3=39k ohm
fo =R3/4R1* R2 *C1
R1=10k ohm

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM :

WAVEFORM :
RESULTS:the value of Vo peak to peak is 7V
The output peak to peak value is marked in the graph

CONCLUSIONS: triangular wave is that it has equal rise

and fall times while a sawtooth wave has unequal rise
and fall times. To generate a triangular waveform, a
square wave is passed through an integrator. Figure:
Generation of Triangular Waveform Hence the main part
of the circuit consist of: 1. A square wave generator 2.

2. Using 741 Op-amp, design a Wien Bridge Oscillator

for an oscillating frequency of 8 KHz. Simulate the
circuit and obtain the waveform across the circuit
output. Mark time period and peak - peak output
voltage on the waveform.
THEORY:The Wien Bridge Oscillator uses a
feedback circuit consisting of a series RC circuit
connected with a parallel RC of the same
component values producing a phase delay or
phase advance circuit depending upon the
frequency.
DESIGN:
fo= 8Khz R=oscillator resistance C= oscillator
capacitance
C1=0.1 micro farad
Fo=1/2pi*R*C
R=1.5k ohm
Rff=15k ohm
C2=0.1 micro farad

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM :
WAVEFORM :

RESULTS:the the value of Vo voltage peak to peak is

3.72V peak to peak
CONCLUSIONS:

In conclusion, the Wien Bridge oscillator is easy to

understand in theory, but the practicalities of the circuit
can cause the designer frustration. Insertion of a digipot
in the three critical areas of the circuit ensures much
more stable operation and factory/user adjustability
