Summer Task
Grade 1
Dear students,
Get ready for an amazing summer break assignment! Just because
school's out doesn't mean your creativity has to take a break. We
have some exciting and creative tasks that will keep your
imagination going and your skills developing. Choose 3 tasks
from the list below and get ready for a fun and challenging
adventure!
Have a wonderful summer break 🌞
Task: 1
Be a cold kitchen chef
Choose a recipe of your own choice (a Sandwich, Banana
Shake, Strawberry Juice etc.)
Take pictures of each step and paste them in a scrapbook.
Write the recipe and ingredients too.
Task:2
DIY Bird Feeder
Make simple bird feeders using recycled materials like milk
cartons or toilet paper rolls.
It's a great way to teach children about caring for wild life and
recycling.
Take pictures of the birds eating from your bird feeders and paste
them in a booklet.
Task: 3
Creating outdoors literacy:
Organize a picnic in the backyard or Local Park where children
can bring their favourite books to read aloud.
It encourages literacy while enjoying the outdoors.
Take pictures of the picnic and make a booklet.
Children can write the names of books they read.
Task:4
Let’s play with dough:
Use colourful play dough to make different fruits and
vegetables.
You can use shape cutters or modelling tools to add details to
your fruits and vegetables such as a stem for an apple or a pear.

Kitchen Gardening:
Grow some vegetables like tomato, coriander, mint etc.
Take pictures of every step of growing vegetables.
Paste them in a scrapbook.
Task: 6
Art and Crafts:
Let your creativity flow! Choose your favourite arts and crafts
project (e.g.) Take four paper plates and convert them into wild
animal masks).
Take photos as you work on each project and proudly display
the finished products in a booklet.

Use fruits and veggies to make stamps:
Cut fruits (Apple, Pear and Peach) and vegetables (Capsicum,
Potato, Okra) into halves.
Dip them in paint on a flat plate.
Create patterns in a scrapbook using your fruits and veggies’
stamps.

Let’s reuse the shoe box
Use a shoe box to make different objects like a doll house,
treasure box etc.
You can paint and decorate them with different colours.
Task: 9
Let’s be a little artist
Make a beautiful pencil holder.
Cut a plastic bottle in half.
Decorate it with beads, paper shapes or stickers etc.

Picture dictionary
Choose a subject.
Put the words in alphabetical order.
Paste the pictures along the words.
Decorate the title page of your dictionary.
Get it bound.
It can be used at school and at home.

Meet and greet pets
Select a vet clinic in Lahore.
Take an appointment for your visit. Prepare a short
questionnaire for the interview of the veterinarian like: -
What kind of animals do you care for?
What tools do you use to check the animals?
How do you help keep pets healthy and happy?
During your visit take pictures and short videos.
Make a booklet using coloured sheets and paste the pictures of
your visit and write your views in neat handwriting.

Interview a baker
Select a popular bakery in Lahore.
Prepare a short questionnaire for the interview of the baker like:-
What ingredients do you use to make bread and pastries?
Can you describe the different steps in the making of a cake?
During your visit take pictures and short videos.
Make a booklet by pasting the pictures.

Create your own story book
Write your favourite story on different coloured sheets.
Paste or draw pictures to make your storybook colourful.
Make a beautiful title page and get it bound.

Let’s be a little engineer
Make models of land transport vehicles by using empty boxes.
You can use bottle caps for wheels.
Paint your vehicles to make them colourful.

handbags, a dress, a basket, etc.
Decorate them with paints, paper flowers or beads.

Finger Puppets
Cut the fingers of your old gloves.
Make finger puppets of your favourite story characters.
Prepare a story to tell your classmates in the class after
summer vacation.

Jewelry making
Make paper beads by rolling the paper strips on a pencil.
Cut the roll into small beads.
Create your own jewelry by putting beads in the strings.

Junior Nutritionist
Collect pictures of both healthy and junk food.
You can use wrappers of chips, chocolates, and candies for
junk food.
Make a portfolio and label them.

Summer journal
Take pictures and gather information about the places you visited.
Create a page for each place you visited during summer vacation.
You can add pictures and drawings of the location.
Write a sentence or two about what you liked the most.
Decorate a folder and arrange all the pages about your summer
adventure.

Be a little explorer
Visit a garden to view different plants.
Collect some leaves and flowers.
Dry them and paste them in a scrapbook. Afterwards, label
them.

2D Shapes
Make some creative shapes (Square, Triangle, Circle, Star
etc.) with the help of colorful cutouts of glazed or coloured
paper.
Paste them in a booklet and write their names.

Make a first aid box
Use an old shoe box to make a first aid box.
Put some first aid items(instant cold compress, hand
sanitizer, gauze pads, etc.)
It can be helpful and is fun to make.

Enhance your vocabulary
Read a book of your own choice.
Find five new words daily and write them on coloured paper.
At the end compile your vocabulary pages into a booklet.

Origami
Origami is the art of paper folding.
Make interesting pieces of origami like flowers, fish, party
caps, rabbits, boat, airplane, etc.
You can search for help online to find out how to make them.
Task: 25
Let’s keep a pet
Buy a chick, parrot, or any other pet with the consent of your
parents.
Give it a name.
Take good care of it and visit a vet for further guidance.
Take pictures and make an album of your new pet.
