The ability-based model consists of four components:

control one's emotions.Then,
The five components of Goleman's mixed model are as follows:

d) 5 components of EI
Speech: Now, Daniel Goleman’s 5 pillars of Emotional Intelligence
The first pillar is Self-awareness. By developing self-awareness, we gain insight into our own
emotions, strengths, and weaknesses. This self-awareness enables us to make better decisions,
build healthier relationships, and navigate challenging situations.
The second one is self-regulation. This skill enables us to adapt to change, handle stress, and to
remain calm in high-pressure situations.
Next is Motivation. By cultivating motivation, organizations can create a positive and inspiring
work environment that increases growth and success.
The fourth pillar is empathy, This is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others.
Empathy builds strong relationships and effective communication among colleagues, promoting
teamwork. When leaders and team members understand the perspectives and emotions of
their colleagues, they can build a supportive workplace culture where everyone feels valued and
appreciated.
Finally, the fifth pillar is social skills. Employees who possess emotional intelligence can
communicate effectively, inspire and influence others, and build strong professional networks.

productivity and overall success in the workplace.

5) Conclusions and Recommendation
Speech: Among the 3 models, the mixed model is considered the most applicable to Emotional
Intelligence (EI) in the workplace. The mixed model combines elements from both trait and
ability-based models, incorporating personality traits and measurable skills to assess and
develop emotional intelligence.
Mixed Model: The mixed model integrates both traits and abilities to assess emotional
intelligence. It incorporates self-report measures of personality traits related to emotional
intelligence as well as performance-based tests to evaluate the individual's ability to perceive,
use, understand, and manage emotions making it more applicable to the workplace context.
Conclusion:
Emotional intelligence plays a crucial role in the workplace, impacting various aspects such as
teamwork, leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and overall employee well-being.
