Lab Report
Introduction:
Objective:
The objective of this experiment is to construct and analyse a wooden piece with specific design
features, including an inclined surface, a cut-out slot, and a dimensional makings, in order to
understand woodworking techniques, material properties, and the precision required in shaping
and machining processes.
Materials:
A wooden piece
Tenon saw
Pencil or marking instruments
A measuring Tape
A combination squares
A sand papers
A Clamp
Drill machine

Procedure:
Measure and mark:
Using a measuring tape, determine the desired length and angle of the wedge. For this
experiment we will create a wedge with the length of 150mm(15cm) and angle of 45
degrees.
Mark the desired length on the wood using a pencil.
Use a combination square to draw a line at the desired angle from one end of the marked
length.
Take a wood of 150x90 mm(15x9cm) wood and on one side cut the one side b y 45o
angle.
Cut the shape:
Secure the wood to a workbench or saw horses.
Use a Tennon saw to cut along the marked line.
Make sure to cut slowly to cut it more precisely.
Then take the drill machine and jig-saw and make a slot of 35mm(35cm).
Sand the Edges:
Sand in the directional of wood grain to avoid scratching.
Desired product:
After sanding our desired product is ready.
