Circuit Description
The engine oil rifle pressure 1 sensor is used by the ECM to monitor the lubricating oil pressure.
The ECM monitors the voltage on the signal pin and converts this to a pressure value.

The QSK50 engine oil rifle pressure 1 sensor is located on either side of the engine block,
depending on oil filter head option. The QSK60 engine oil rifle pressure 1 sensor is located on the
rear right side of the engine block behind the flywheel housing. The QSK38 marine engine oil rifle
pressure 1 sensor is located in the lubricating oil filter head which is located on the left bank of
the engine. On the QSK38 industrial engines, the oil rifle pressure 1 sensor is located in the
lubricating oil filter head, which can be mounted on the left or right bank of the engine. Refer to
Procedure 100-002 in Section E for a detailed component view location.

There are multiple ECMs for the engine models included in this manual. Each ECM has an
individual source address that displays when INSITE™ electronic service tool is connected.
When troubleshooting a fault code, use the source address displayed in INSITE™ electronic
service tool to determine which ECM and circuit is affected.
The engine oil rifle pressure 1 sensor shares supply and return wires in the engine harness with
other sensors. Open and shorts in the engine harness can cause multiple fault codes to be
active. Before troubleshooting Fault Code 141, check for multiple faults.
Possible causes of this fault include:
Signal circuit open or shorted to ground in the engine harness or sensor
Supply line open or shorted to ground.
