Option 2 Reflection Guide

Part 1: Basic Information

1. Date you began the collaboration project: December 12, 2024

2. Date you completed the collaboration project: December 14, 2024

3. In six to eight sentences, describe your collaboration project:

I made a simple presentation answering the questions outlined in the project instructions. I
used Google Slides to do this but downloaded it and turned it in as a .pptx file. The project
was mainly about computer science, and the things surrounding the field. Examples of
questions asked in the instructions were things like: ‘how is the job market?’ and ‘what skills
do you need to be a computer scientist?’ I had a lot of fun making the project (as you can
clearly see if you look at it), and made sure to include a joke here and there to make a
potential instructors viewing experience more enjoyable.

Part 2: Self-Evaluation
1. What are some of your strengths and how did they contribute to the work you completed
for this project?

I have no issues at all designing slide presentations, as I naturally understand how

technology works. I’m also a fairly organized person, so I was able to gather all the
information I needed in one place fairly easily.

2. What are some of your weaknesses and how might they have made this project more
challenging for you?

My biggest weakness in doing projects like this is that I am VERY good at

procrastinating big things like this. I see a project or something along the lines of that,
and I end up putting it off for as long as possible. Eventually I get it done, but usually all
in one sitting, with a little touch of not enough sleep to go with it.
3. Describe how well you feel you did on this project?

I think I created a good project with enough information provided to answer all of the
questions. I noticed a comment on the project that I did not include sources, which I’m
fairly certain I did (bottom left corner of each slide), but besides that, I think everything
went well. I had a lot of fun making it.

Part 3: Self-Reflection
Respond to the following questions with at least three sentences for each.

1. What did you enjoy most about working independently on this collaboration?

I was able to do the project in my own time and on my own schedule. I didn’t have to
worry about someone else’s opinion on my work, and could be confident in my own
work.

2. How do you think having a partner would have made this project easier?

I think that having a partner would have certainly lessened the workload on myself. For
example, a partner could have helped with the research, and taken on certain jobs like
helping with design. Another thing a partner is often helpful for, is that they can fix errors
that I missed and provide helpful constructive comments.

3. How do you think having a partner would have made this project more difficult?

I would have had to worry about someone else’s time schedule and life when working on
the project, and would have needed to coordinate with someone who potentially had a
different schedule than I did.
4. What will you do differently, if anything, in your next online collaboration opportunity?

I think that I would do everything the same, except maybe turn it in on time this time.

5. If you could choose to work with a partner on your next online collaboration opportunity,
would you? Why or why not?

I would not, as it’s not really an option. No one else at my school is taking this course,
and working with someone in a different time zone is really complicated, so I think I
would prefer to do it by myself again.
