My Difficulties Situation
My first difficulties happened when I was still in high school. Because I was not from high class family, I
was to wake up so early and cover around six miles to reach to my school. One day you can wake up you
find yourself behind time, but you don’t want to miss school and at the same time you must walk or
cycle.
At school I could find hard to concentrate in class and failing to complete my homework assignments
because by the time I get home, am find myself so tired. Then I will tell myself, “You will do tomorrow
morning before you go to school.” The following day that morning, you realized to you overslept then
that’s it. The good thing with me was that I could not give up easily so, I kept on going with the rest of
the student. Like in the book “College Success” the writer said that, at the beginning of the school year,
there usually a big number but at the end during graduation you find a small number of students are the
one that are graduating.
Another difficulty was where am currently working. I’m working as a teacher. I really enjoy teaching
because it teaches small kids of ages 10 – 15 years.
So, it happened just recently when I lost the person that I loved most. So regaining wasn’t so easy to me
because it was the only valuable person that I had. Because I’m the leader and I was to continue with my
duties, I had to adapt the situation as fast as I could. Though it was not an easy journey, because I did
not have any knowledge on who to control myself, but I believed in me and because I was leading
people so I could allow them to be affected because of me.
Strategies
Self-Regulation
I used this strategy to cool myself down and control my feeling towards to was happening in my life. I
trusted myself and remained optimistic. I believed that I could do it and with time I started doing well in
everything that I did. I accepted the situation, and I believed it was the way of life.
Self-Awareness
I began to be more confident with myself. I called myself in a meeting and recalled it. That is when I
started waking up so early and I began to complete my homework assignments on time. Managing time
resulted to great impact. I used to believe that I was limited. This course has given me more and more
strategies on how to get to know myself better and to keep going.
Self-motivation
I started ganging myself and setting my goals. I remember setting my final marks with my class teacher
back at high school. Doing that was the best decision I made during that time. Know I had a reason as to
wake up early in the morning.
Social Skills
I gained my social skills when I began working as a teacher. I find myself talking to everyone that was
around me. At that point I was able to make many friends as never before. I also leaned leadership skills.
From leading as a class teacher of a class to the head of academics in school and now the head of
departments in school. This strategy also helped in managing my skills during the time I lost my beloved
one. I use to talk to my friends, charting and having a walk together and having fun.
