Theories Of Finding Nemo
Personality Theories Essay over the movie Finding Nemo
The purpose of this essay is to watch the movie and try to view the main character from three
personality theorists perspectives. In the movie Finding Nemo, Marlin was a clown fish who lost
his son, Nemo, in the vast ocean. Along his journey to find his son, he ran into Dory, a blue tang fish
who suffered from short term memory loss. Dory provided moral support and comfort in this
search that Marlin has been missing for years. This essay will analyze Dory in the movie Finding
Nemo through Carl Rogers self actualization theory, Maslow s Hierarchy of needs, and Friedman
and Rosenman s personality behavior type.

Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs
Maslow s hierarchy of needs is a systematic arrangement of needs according to priority in which
basic needs must be met before less basic needs are aroused. At the point in the movie where Dory
meets Marlin, Dory was stuck on the second level of Maslow s pyramid because she lacked in
needs of love and belongingness that is necessary to climb up higher on the hierarchy of needs.
When she is introduced in the movie, she had no love, no family, no self esteem, and was only
concerned about the basic needs in life like safety and security. At the point in the movie where
Marin pulls her out of the jellyfish, Dory progressed to the third level of the pyramid because in
her dedicated pursue to aid and assist Marlin, they had developed a relationship. Marlin then
accepted Dory and she felt a sense of affiliation and acceptance. Dory was then able to progress
through the rest of Maslow s hierarchy of needs.
Friedman and Rosenman Behavior Type pattern
In Finding Nemo, Dory had a type B personality because she was normally very easy going and
relaxed. A type B personality is defined as a child ego state characterized by a form of behavior
associated by Friedman and Rosenman with people who appear free of hostility and aggression
and who lack a compulsion to meet deadlines, are not highly competitive at work and play, and
have a lower risk of heart attack (Farlex, 2012). In many parts of the movie, you could see
Essay on Defining Voluntarism
1. (652) In the reading of The Sources of Normativity, Christine Korsgaard discusses four basic
theories for the justification of morality: Voluntarism, Realism, Reflective Endorsement, and the
Appeal to Autonomy. For the purpose of this essay, I will be defining Voluntarism, outlining the
argument that Korsgaard presents for Voluntarism, and explain her criticism for why it fails. First
of all, let me start off by defining the meaning of Voluntarism. Voluntarism is the theory that God or
the ultimate nature of reality is to be conceived as some form of will (or conation). This theory is
contrasted to intellectualism, which gives primacy to God s reason. (Internet Encyclopedia of
Philosophy) The will, as referred to in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christine Korsgaard s criticism for the reason why the theory of Voluntarism fails reflects upon
the fact that the authority or divine power making the laws can make anything right or wrong.
Korsgaard goes on to explain a situation in which you are a student in her department and are
thereby required to take a particular course, in this case, a logic course in order to receive your
degree. If you are in her department and she, having authority over you, requires you to take the
course and you fail to do so, then you are at risk of not receiving your degree. On the other hand,
if you are not a student in her department, she can give several reasons as to why the logic course
is needed but you are not required to take the course and can hereby make a decision as to
whether or not you wish to take the course, which Korsgaard goes on to explain, is why authority
is needed in order to enforce the laws. You can take the course because you realize the
importance, out of fear of not receiving your degree, or just for the simple fact that it is a
required course. Even if the obligation was removed, the question lies among whether or not the
moral agent will continue to perform the duty. It is Korsgaard s theory that a governing body is
needed to enforce the obligation in order for the action to take place and that governing body is, in
what she believes, our own self. We command ourselves to do what is morally right, good, and just.

Hardin Lifeboat Ethics Essay
Although Hardin states reasonable facts against helping the poor in his essay, Lifeboat Ethics , he
overlooks key factors which would contradict with his point of view. Hardin is against the sharing
of resources because in his opinion the population growth rates of the poorer countries are much
higher as opposed to the wealthier. He claims that if resources are shared equally amongst refugees
in LEDCs, in 21 years, each American would have to share the available resources with more than
eight people. What Hardin overlooks when making this statement is that the mean wealthis tied in
with the mean birthrate. Reports today show that as the wealth of one rises, they have less children.
This is proof that as the wealth of a country rises, the birthrate would then decrease. If this not be the
case, for which there is a slight possibility, Hardin s argument may be valid.

Hardin s observation of the comparatively higher birthrate of the poor compared to the lower
birthrate of the rich is in fact correct but only to some extent. Pre industrialization in the so called,
first world countries, there were values of high birthrates. The industrialization in these MEDCs
cause a drastic decrease in fertility in the countries affected. This started in Europe, ... Show more

What Hardin oversees is that an international depository of food reserves would give the poor a
chance to develop, which would in turn spark an increase in wealth, hence, there would be a
decrease in birthrate. He also overlooks that practitioners may have ideas of using technology to
solve some of these problems. Hardin claims that farming crops for the poor would occupy America
s land, which turns to be an insignificant claim as due to the advancement in technology, we could
easily use vertical and rooftop gardening as a more compact and reasonable
The Ripper Killings
Prior to the Ripper killings, the Metro Police force was created. Even before the killings Women,
especially Prostitutes and women who had jobs of that nature were being discriminated against. In
1888, Jack started to take his stand. He took the lives of prostitutes to show how he was against it
and how he disliked the rise women were trying to take. He mutilated the women and then dumped
their bodies in the area of Whitechapel. These killings taunted the policebecause of how public they
all were and the letters that were left behind. The police had many, many suspects as to who The
Ripper was, but all of them were deemed innocent. The Ripper made the police look like fools and
did it with elegance.

Jack started with Mary Ann Nichols on August 31st, 1888. He cut her throat and dumped her in
the area of Whitechapel. She was the first of the canonical five victims of the Ripper s murders
(Richard Jones). Next came Annie Chapman on September 8th, 1888. The Ripper brutally
mutilated her and took off with a part of her womb. She was found in the backyard of John Davis,
an elderly man who lived at number 29 Hanbury Street. The third victim was Elizabeth Stride on
September 30th, 1888. She was also left with a cut throat, but the rest of her wasn t touched. This
lead to speculation that her killer or The Ripper had been interrupted. The fourth victim was
Catherine Eddowes who was also killed on September 30th, 1888. This killing was much more
violent than the other that had happened that day. Her face had been mutilated and the killer had
run off with her left kidney and her uterus. The fifth victim of these five that were heavily
speculated to be The Ripper was Mary Kelly. She was murdered on November 9th, 1888. The
Ripper had skinned her almost to the bone and left her in Miller s
Estates-General Research Paper
Once upon a time, there was a horrible debt in France, so Louis XVI called for the Estates
General. The Estates General was all about France being split into three different groups . The first
group was made up of the Roman Catholic priests. The second group was for nobility. And finally,
the third group represented everybody else in the French kingdom. Though the Estates General didn
t turn out so well due to voting complications. Due to the fact that the things didn t go so well with
the Estates General, and the members of the third estate were locked out of the events happening,
they met in a court yard at the Palace of Versailles. Which is known as the Tennis Court. The Tennis
Court Oath states that people of the third estate would
The Theory Of Social Enterprise
When I first start on this module, I feel really odd about what exactly a social enterprise is. In our
daily life, there are tens of thousands businesses among us, but I have never thought about what
makes those business exits, what aims they are trying to achieve and what kind of business they are.
When thinking of social enterprise, I feel interested in how they run the businessin a long term if it is
not profit driven, and how they maintain the daily operation with perhaps very little social capital
investment. My understanding of this module built upon everyday readings, seminar preparations
and workshops, as well as group discussions, Gregson Centre s visit and learning packs of various
social concepts from different groups day by day.

What gave me the deep impressions at first is the three system of economy model proposed by
Pearce (2003). The diagram is totally new to me but it is not that hard to understand. The diagram
divides the economy into three systems and each of which can be seen to be based on deferent
principles and values. Each system is about a different way of managing the economy. The first
system can be referred to as the private sector, it is profit driven and their principle is to maximize
returns for private shareholders. The first system operates through the free marketplace, meeting
needs through the production of goods and the provision of services by companies. The second
system can be conventionally referred to as the public sector. It is
Overview of Decision Making Models
Decision Making According to Robert Harris, (2009) decision making is the process or the study
of identifying and choosing the best alternatives and best fits the goals, values and the desired
outcome. He further adds that it s a process of sufficiently reducing uncertainty and doubt about
alternatives to allow a reasonable choice to be made from among them. There are various decision
making models that have been researched upon and fronted in the academic field. These include
but are not restricted to decision matrix, multivariable decision making model, Myers Briggs Type
Indicator (MBTI) model, Vroom Jago decision model, seven step decision making model, intuitive
decision making model, recognition primed decision making model, the ultimate decision making
model, Kepner Tregoe decision making model (decision making confidence, 2010) and many more
models. However for the purpose and focus of this paper in particular, the Advance directives
decision making model will form the basis. It is however very necessary to note that the models do
not operate in mutual exclusivity. They instead interlace to augment each other depending on the
peculiarity of the situation that and individual or organization finds itself in. Advance directive
decision making Across the health care profession, there appears to be a consensus on the respect
that should be accorded the decisions that are made by the patients on how they should be taken care

The JVC/ Smithsonian Folkways Video Anthology of Music and Dance of the Americas Volume 4:
Music and Dance of the Caribbean

In this video review, I am going to discuss the musical background and components observed in the
video about the Music and Dance of the Caribbean from Latin America.

On the background of Caribbean music: the Amerindians are the first people that have settled in the
Caribbean and thus are the pioneers of Caribbean music. Moreover, one can trace the original roots
of Caribbean music back to common roots in Africa since during the slave trade from Africa, many
rhythms were geographically transferred to the Western Hemisphere. As a result, the rhythms of
inhabitants in the indigenous island are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Caribbean music is performed for occasions of hunting, for working in the
agricultural fields. Their music can function as love songs, lullabies or tributes to the dead too.
Some Caribbean music are also found in large scale public celebrations such as carnivals, festivals
and competitions, such as track 4 1 (Tuk Band) and track 4 32 (Carnival Montage) in the video
where the performance occurs in an inter Caribbean cultural festival.

Besides, certain Caribbean music is considered to be of a more divine nature, which possesses
supernatural virtues that are not meant to be comprehended nor translated by the regular human.
Such Caribbean music are performed in the belief of communicating with the gods, or in order to
cure the sick and protect the inhabitants on the islands from evil spirits as well as earthly enemies,
or to show ritualistic devotion. This is seen for example in track 4 2 (Fiesta de Guiro) as well as in
track 4 28 which showcases a spiritual Baptist Rite.

Lastly, on the musical form, in the video Caribbean music includes a variety of

Vasco Da Gama Summary
The author of this traveler account is Vasco da Gama himself. He was born about 1460 in
Portugal and was a famous navigator for the King of Portugal. Da Gama starts off his journal by
describing his voyage to the Bay of St. Helena in 1497, also describing himself as the Captain
Major in third person. Da Gama had anchored in the bay for eight days to clean their ships and
took captive on of the natives, feeding him and dressing him well, he was returned to land and
that helped da Gama gain entry with the other natives to their land. He describes the inhabitants as
...tawny colored. Their food is confined to the flesh of seals, whales and gazelles, and the roots of
herbs. They are dressed in skins, and wear sheaths over their virile members. They are armed with
poles of olive wood to which a horn, browned in the fire, is attached. Their numerous dogs resemble
those of Portugal, and bark like them. Da Gama notices the similarity of dogs in St. Helena to
those of his home country of Portugal, which I don t think he expected to see. Vasco goes on to
explain how he showed them merchandise that he brought from Portugal and all the natives were
amazed by it. The following night, da Gama is at supper and then says that he hears shouting and
sees one of his crew being chased by the natives across the beach and quickly they depart from this
bay, due to some miscommunication where the natives started to attack them.
Many things interested da Gama and had led him to navigate all the
Compare And Contrast Haritan And Japanese Feudalism
Japanese and the west European region has two different cultures, including how they rule their land.
However, Japanese feudalism in 1185 1333 and west European feudalism in the 8th century to the
12th century, they both had similar societies built on class hierarchy, with different philosophies and
morals, and different religions influencing the way they rule. Hence, showing that the two regions in
two different periods have many similarities with some differences that make them their own.
First, the two regions have similar class hierarchy societies. These class systems were heredity so
you were born into what you would be. With the constant warfare, is made the warrior class the most
important, these warriors worked for local lords. In Japan, these warriors are known as samurais
and were lowest class of aristocratic nobility. In Japan, women were allowed to become a samurai
and fight alongside the men. In Western Europe, however, their warriors were called knights and
were the third in their class system. Contrasting the Japanese samurais, women were not allowed to
become knights. Both warrior classes were bound by codes, the samurais had the Bushido code and
the knights had the Code of Justinian.
The samurais philosophy included the Bushido code while the knights philosophy contained the
Code of Justinian. The Bushido code includes many rules on how chivalrous men should act in
their personal and professional lives. The Bushido code gives eight different virtues of the samurai.
They include: (1) Rectitude or Justice, (2) Courage, (3) Benevolence or Mercy, (4) Politeness, (5)
Honesty and Sincerity, (6) Honor, (7) Loyalty, and (8) Character and Self Control. Some of these
rules include the first, rectitude or justice the Bushido states, Rectitude is one s power to decide
upon a course of conduct in accordance with reason, without wavering; to die when to die is right, to
strike when to strike is right. . It also says, Rectitude is the bone that gives firmness and stature.
Without the bones, the head cannot sit on top of the spine and hands nor feet can stand. In addition,
without rectitude nothing like talent and learning cannot make the human frame into a samurai. To
preserve their own honor,
Courage In The Time Of The Butterflies
Courage essay
In The Time of The Butterflies there were three sisters that would gain courage to fight for their
rights and to get rid of Trujillo. They knew what they what they were up against and what some of
the consequences could be but they had enough courage to fight for their rights. The three sisters
from the story were Mate, Minerva, and Dede. Dede did not have as much courage as her sisters but
throughout the book she builds some.
Patria is one character that also shows courage throughout book. At the beginning of the book
Patria doesn t show a lot of courage. Patria was really questioning about if she should join or not.
She didn t show a lot courage because her husband was really in control of her and he didn t want
her to join the revolution. One day Patria saw a young boy get shot who was around the same age
as her son. After she saw a boy get shot she gained courage and started to fight for her rights and
she tried to make stuff better for her and her family.
Minerva was a character that showed a lot of courage in the book. At the beginning she really
didn t know that much about Trujillo. Soon Minerva found out more about Trujillo and saw what

modes Eight cases from Sweden

1. Abstract
The firm internationalization literature is extensive, but dominated by studies of technical, often
large, firms. The service firm internationalization literature is slowly growing. Few international
contributions are found investigating the advertising industry and no such studies focus on the
Swedish market. The PR industry has been internationally neglected. This study investigates four
advertising agencies and four PR agencies in the Swedish market. The eight case agencies confirm
traditional internationalization motives, but also new motives are found, such as the foreign ... Show

Lastly, these authors used quantitative research method, which generally limits the freedom of the
respondents in answering questions. The Public Relations, PR, industry has been internationally
neglected. A possible explanation to this neglect is that this industry has been assumed to be the
same as the advertising industry. The gap in research should by now be evident! Despite a growing
body of service literature, the internationalization of the advertising industry and the Public Relations
industry in Sweden has remained unchartered territories for research. The internationalization
motives and the entry modes for the advertising industry in USA are somewhat known, but the PR
industry is neglected internationally. The link between motives and entry modes in the advertising
industry is blurry even from an international perspective and the latest contribution was released in
year 1990. Furthermore, it is unclear what importance the concept of psychic distance (Johanson and
Vahlne 1977; Johanson and Wiedersheim Paul 1975) has for the international expansion in these
industries and if and how business contacts

enables these industries to internationalize (Johanson and Mattsson 1988). Additionally, there is no
recent research focusing on these industries after the globalization of services and the enhanced
importance of services in the World and in Sweden. Finally, a case study approach has not been
conducted yet in this matter. The Dissertation
