The Movie, Miracle, is about the 1980 s U.S. Olympic...
Miracle is a biographical sports film that was made in 2004, the movie tells the story about the
1980 United States men s hockey team which was coached by Herb Brooks and won the gold
medal in the 1980 olympic games. One of the wins was against the powerhouse, Soviet Union in
the medal round. The Soviets had won the past 6 winter Olympics in hockey which is why the
victory is called The miracle on ice.

Herb Brooks at the time was the head coach at the University of Minnesota. He is interviewed by the
United States Olympic committee in Colorado Springs. He is chosen for the job and holds tryouts
for the roster. There is 26 spots on the roster but Herb Brooks only takes 20 and after only one day
of tryouts. Most of the players are from the University of Minnesota and Boston University, a
college hockey rivalry. The first day of practice, a couple of players get in a fist fight about the
rivalry. Coach Brooks asked the players to tell their name, hometown and who they play for. The
team travels to Norway for a game which ended in a 3 3 draw, Brooks heard his players talking
about a blonde girl in the stands. He then made his players skate across the ice many times and for
hours after the game. The players were exhausted and all curled up, all of them vomiting, Mike
Eruzione screamed as he was out of breath Mike Eruzione, Winthrop, Massachusetts he was running

Chimps Over Imitation
We human beings have been dominating the earth s surface for fifteen thousand years, which leads
us to the conclusion that human is the smartest species so far. However the recent research about
genes shows that humans share most of their DNA with chimpanzees that is about 99%. So what
makes the difference, humans dominated the world on the other hand chimps just stayed in their
cages? The latest research has revealed three main points which are unique to humanbeings, over
imitation, mental rehearsal and virtual imagination.
One major difference we can find between humans and other species is over imitation.
In one experiment, young wild born chimpanzees and Children aged 3 4 years were shown how
to get a little reward out of a puzzle box. In the first condition of the experiment the puzzle box
was transparent, whereas in the second condition the puzzle box was opaque. If the box was
opaque chimps and children were unable to look at the internal workings of the puzzle box and
were unable to inquire which steps were necessary and which were not. In this condition, both,
children and chimps, copied all the actions shown by the demonstrator. However, if the puzzle box
was transparent, and children and chimps were able to distinguish which steps were necessary and
which were not, chimps only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We can imagine what we want, even if it seems to be impossible to happen. For example, we can
imagine A flying elephant or Talking rhinoceros . However, it is impossible for other animals to
think in that way. They can only think about their daily life, the reality. And this, the power to
imagine what one s can t see, is the core part of our scientific thinking. If it were not for this power,
Newton couldn t find the gravitation from just watching apple falling. It goes without saying that the
imagination is so special to human
Two Kidneys And How They Work
Most people have two kidneys, both of which are located on the right and left sides in the upper
abdominal, near the back (National Kidney Disease Education Program (NKDEP), 2012). The
kidneys play a major role of homeostasis within the body. A brief overview of the kidney include:
the cortex which is the outer most layer and the medulla which is the inner most layer of the kidney.
Inside of the medulla are renal pyramids, which consist of a network of millions of nephrons, sub
units that filter blood and form urine(Stanfield, 2013, p.506 507). The nephrons consist of two parts:
the glomerulus, which is a cluster of blood vessels that help to filter waste products and fluid from
the blood; once the blood is filtered through the glomerulus it then travels to the renal tubules where
the filtered material is filtered even more and then turned into urine (Canadian Cancer Society, 2015).

sodium, phosphate, potassium, calcium, etc.. More specifically the hormones made in the kidneys
help to control the production of red blood cells, regulate blood pressure, and keep bones strong
and healthy (The Kidneys and How They Work, 2014). Every day, the kidneys filter through about
120 150quarts of blood each day in order to produce 1 2quarts of urine (National Institute of Health,
Analysis Of April Morning By Howard Fast
Generally speaking, through the violence of war, many would agree that being able to keep your
values would be a feat in itself. April Morning by Howard Fast explores the journey of a young
boy named Adam whom is forced to grow up quickly after the shot heard around the world in
Lexington, Massachusetts on April 19, 1775. A young boys father dies, and one non violent leader of
the community helps, along with many others, to show a boy the path of a man. The Reverend...
argues against killing and war... and quotes the Bible to justify the rebel cause (Novelguide Editors).
Historically known as Jonas Clarke (Novelguide Editors), the Reverend, an advocate of the
community, is argumentative, accepting, and kind throughout the fighting. Before the fighting, the
Reverend kept the minutes of the Committee meetings under his Bible and quotes the Bible to
justify the rebel cause (Novelguide Editors). He protested fighting and tried to use reasoning, the
Bible, and common sense to prove his points. In April Morning, the Reverend states Now it s all
very well to talk about our rights, but just what are we going to do with seventy nine men facing a
thousand? (Fast 62). Through this, he shows how he is willing to stand up for what he thinks is
best for the community. He also argues that The only man in my congregation who shot another is

Evaluate The Importance Of Numeracy
The development and proper application of an individuals mathematical ability is a complex process
that is comprised of many significant interrelating concepts that are demonstrated through the
Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority s (ACARA) and its many strands and
sub strands. Numeracy most notably is vital to the development and teaching of Mathematics and
underpins many concepts including that of Number sense which is therefore also fundamental to not
only the development of mathematic, but also the success of the implementation of the Australian
curriculum.
Learners need to be cognitively and physically active in the learning of mathematics (Baturo, A ....)
which can be achieved through the combination of the use of tools to engage learners and improve

Although the term numeracy is used in primary school contexts alongside of, and sometimes in place

numeracy, but rather rethinking how mathematical knowledge is learned and its relevance to

A Deduction Essay
A Deduction

Kant s subjective A deduction is not a deduction in the traditional philosophical sense. Rather, it is a
justification in the sense of the language of legal practice. (1) What Kant wants to justify is that the
categories are the necessary a priori conditions for the possibility of experiential objects. This
justification also has another role in Kant s overall project. If he can prove the categories are the
necessary a priori grounds for the possibility of experiential objects, then he can justify the use of
philosophical synthetic a priori propositions. The preservation of such propositions is central to
Kant s task in the Critique of Pure Reason. In order to determine whether Kant s justification is
adequate, we will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The first synthesis of apprehension in intuition is a synthesis of sensibility, and as such captures the
dual empirical/a priori nature of the syntheses quite well. Apprehension consists in picking out
specific items from the successive stream of intuitional content (empirical) in the representational
manifold of inner sense, organizing these items via the pure forms of intuition (a priori). The
synthesis of empirical intuitional content into apprehended items must be a priori, since space and
time are a priori and are the forms by which intuitional content is apprehended. Furthermore, these
intuitions manifest themselves to us in the representational manifold of inner sense, whose
successive stream is already a priori ordered by time. As Kant says: Wherever our representations
my arise, whether through the influence of external things or as the effect of inner causes, whether
they have originated a priori or empirically as

Our selected method needs to meet the requirements of the subject and the level at which the
subject is being delivered at. We can see from Knowles (1983) identified six assumptions about
adult learning, our students in a military environment and in the third age meet most if not all of
these criteria. If this is true of our military learners then as delivers we need to be aware of the
Charter for Andragogy Mezirow (1981) which set out what we teachers of adults need to be
aware of to teach our learners. If we look at the Kolb (1984) explained how learning has four
stages as well as Honey and Mumford learning styles we can see how this can be incorporated into
our delivery models. The use of tests for example during the assessment process or conclusion
activities in the classroom or assessment can be directly reflected into the Kolb model. Knowing how
our students learn will ensure I am delivering my lesson at the right level to our audience using the
correct teaching strategies. Conclusion and Recommendations You can see that throughout this
assignment I have identified a number of deferent principles, teaching and learning styles. How these
can and often are incorporated into the delivery of lessons in a military environment. We have also
The Pros And Cons Of Renewable Identification Numbers
Abstract
The scope of this work will include background information on Renewable Identification Numbers,
how RINs used in the oil industry, RIN accounting, and its challenges. Renewable Identification
Numbers area type of credit for oil companies that came about after the EPA enacted the
Renewable Fuel Standards Program. The overall use of RINs have changed since the EPA issued
this program. Currently there are many challenges company s face buying RINs to meet EPA
standards. However there are some great environmental and economic benefits to using RINs. This
paper will explore the benefits, issues, and accounting methods of RIN s.

Archived on the SEC website companies such as Valero and Casey General Stores both have similar
comment letters with the SEC asking them to further explain how RINs are accounted for in their
business.
Arising Problems with RINs
One of the main issues with RINs have been their prices. Typically RIN prices are below $1 per
RIN. However, lately RIN prices have exceeded $1. According to the International Council on
Clean Transportation (ICCT) the price for a gallon of gasoline was about $3 in 2014. As RIN
prices increase this could drive up the price of gasoline for consumers. Increasing RIN prices may
be attributed to complications with the blendwall . Blenders were unable to blend additional ethanol
to meet their RVO due to the blendwall (ICCT, 2014).Valero Energy Corporation reportedly spent
$850 million on RIN s in 2016.
Much life a regular market, supply and demand are the main causes of the market volatility for RIN
s. Each year the required volume for blended renewable fuel increases. Meanwhile the supply for the
blended fuel increases during summer months which can plummet margins (Fitzgibbon, 2016).
Combined, oil companies are estimated to spend nearly $2 billion on RINs in
Aesthetics In Honduras
V.Religion and Aesthetics In Honduras, Christianity is the prevalent religion. 97% of the
population is Roman Catholic and 3% are Protestants. This widespread of Christianity traces its
roots back to the early sixteenth century when the Spanish invaded Honduras. Folk dances and
modern dances are enjoyed by Hondurans. The sique and mascaro are the two main types of folk
dances in Honduras (Painter, 2016). VI.Living Conditions Rural conditions are vastly different
from those who live in the city. 60% of the land is forested while 25% is available for agriculture.
Many of the citizens are farmers because of the amount of land accessible to farm with. The
quality of soil is far less than standard. In the mountainous areas, the soil is either eroded or not
viable enough to sustain crops grown. Because of this, many small farmers are much poorer and
live in poverty. Many families eat corn or beans for the better part of each meal while meat is rare to
some (Merrill, 1995).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Houses are built with sugarcane stalks, bound together with mud. The floors in each hut are
made of dirt. Finding a place to live has become difficult for some. The more land is used to raise
cattle and plant vegetables, the less space available for people to live. Many people are known to
squat in locations not suitable for humans to thrive and dwell. This constitutes a low standard of
living in rural areas. Those who have money experience much better living conditions. They have
access to clean water and more food. Citizens in this class live in houses near populous cities or
even own their own land (Merrill,

On Wings of Death
The zombies body was in remarkably good shape, the flesh wounds had healed quickly due to the
nano tech. Zero stretched the things tendons before waking Dana from her slumber. She had
taken a knock during the crash and had suffered a minor concussion. The wild look in her eyes
was enough to tell him she was wide awake now and he left her alone. Something about this body
disturbed the human and it was something Zero couldn t understand. The Tic pod was cramped at
best holding a small squad and not much more. Releasing the hatch he watched as powerful
hydraulics forced open a jaw like structure designed to tear open enemy ships. The wall crumbled
under the pressure, opening a clear path into the next room. Dust swirled in the air and the lights
flickered giving the room a menacing feel, although to the artificial intelligence they were all just
variables that could not be quantified. A sensation that he was not used to hit him and it took a
moment to realize it was burnt flesh. Not used to smelling anything the sensation was not
unpleasant, just interesting. Having advanced the mech body far enough Zero started the time

an opportunity for a few cheap shots. He gave a nod to Dana who was just exiting the pod, her
shaken, gaunt look actually portraying her readiness quite well. The gravity of the situation had hit
her hard, but she kept on regardless. Once more, Zero cancelled
Impact Of Ww1 On Australian Economy
There were many impacts on the Australians home front throughout World War 1. World War I also
known as the Great War took place from July 28th 1914 to November 11th 1918. These impacts
included the Australian Commonwealth Government passing the War Precautions Act that gave the
government many wartime powers including which were not supported by the constitution; the
impact women made towards the war effort; how people with heritage from countries in the triple
alliance who were living in Australia were known as enemy aliens and were often sent to internment
camps; and the many different effects on the Australian economy. These different impacts on the
Australian home front that created a change in how Australian society worked.

Throughout World War I 7000 people with German heritage were sent to these camps for national
security reasons. This was because the commonwealth government wanted to keep all of the enemy
aliens in one place where they could be kept under close observation to make sure they were not
spying or participating in any efforts which could undermine the war. However many Germans were
sent to the internment camps for their own safety because of the hostility towards German people
and businesses which often faced anti German sentiment. Paul Dabotzki was a Bavarian
photographer who was working in Papua New Guinea and during the outbreak of the war he moved
to Australia to avoid being a prisoner of war, however he was then classified as an enemy alien and
sent to the Holsworthy internment camp in 1915. His photograph collection which was found in
2007 in Germany has over 1200 photos of life inside the internment camps. The photos show grim
small housing units that are within a large complex of barb wire fences. These picture show how
many of the internees who lived in these internment camps lived their lives. By interning many
German residents in Australia the Commonwealth Government had a large impact on the
relationship between the German born Australians and the British born Australians throughout world
