Essay On Bicameral Congress
A bicameral legislature is the two houses that the government has. It s historical is when the
british bicameral at first but we changed it up a little bit, it s practical is when the framers created
a two chambered body to settle the conflict between New Jersey and Virginia in Pennsylvania in
1787, and it;s theoretical reason is that the framers liked a bicameral congress in order that one
house might act as a survey to the other. There are 435 members in the house of representatives
there terms are exactly 2 years, you must be 35 years of age, and a United Statescitizen for at least
seven years and an inhabitant of the state he or she represents. There are 100 members in the
senate, the terms are exactly 6 years for senate the qualifications to become a senator are that that
must be at least thirty years of age, have been a citizen of the United States for nine years, and,
when elected, be a resident of the State from which he or she .

Tax and expenditure limits (TELs) restrict the growth of government revenues or spending by either
capping them at fixed dollar amount or limiting their growth rate to match increases in population,
inflation, personal income, or some combination of those factors. A time the power to tax was used
was when the Supreme Court ruled in McCulloch v. Maryland, back in 1819, that the Constitution
exempts the Federal Government from state taxation. Setting forth his renowned dictum that the
power to tax involves the power to destroy, Chief Justice John Marshall declared that the states (and,
by inference, local governments) have no power, by taxation or otherwise, to retard, impede, burden
or in any manner control the operations of the constitutional laws enacted by
Inside The Bottle
The story revolves around Garrett who grieved over the death of his wife, Catherine. As a way of
release, he put his sadness into words by writing love letters addressed to his late wife, then place
them in a bottle and throw them out in the sea. And Theresa Osborne, a 36 year old mother of one
named Kevin and a divorcee, is a Boston newspaper columnist. This book tells of a lovethat is
everlasting and unbreakable.
The story begins when Theresa finds a bottle on the shore of Cape Cod, a beach where she is in for
a vacation along with her editor and a dear friend, Deanna. Inside the bottle is a love letter written for
a woman named Catherine by a man named Garrett. Theresa instantly got interested to find out who
s who (Garrett and Catherine). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The plot was very well written and was easy to be understood. The story was sad, tragic,
distressing and a definite tear jerker. The characters were more human, they were much more
flawed, but real. I do like and admire Theresa because of her attitude towards taking care of Kevin,
her son. It showed her undying love and passion because even though she is a single parent, she
still managed to raise her son. I also like Garrett because he showed how devoted he is to his ex
wife Catherine. He has a very truthful and real attitude just like his well written letters. The
character that I love the most is Jeb Blake, Garret s father. Even though he only had few
exposures in the book, I learned a lot from him especially with his fatherly advice, his words of
wisdom. I can relate to it because just like Garret, I have a father who likes giving advices, who
always remind what and what not to do. If I were to choose a third main character it would
definitely be Catherine. Although, she was already dead, everything in the novel was because of
her, about her, for the sake of
Ancient Greece And Ancient China
Ancient civilizations are a big part of history but we wouldn t know them as they are today without
them going through and facing all the problems. China and Greece had many of the same problems
but solved them differently. I believe that Greeks solved their problems in a better way than Chinese.
Ancient Greece was a very powerful and thrived. The empire of Ancient Greece spread over Europe
all the way to France. Ancient Greece has a big influence on what we have today. For example, we
get many different kinds of art and architecture from Ancient Greece. The columns on the White
House have the same kind on the acropolis. Athens and Sparta are most famous out of all the cities in
Greece.
Ancient Chinese are known for accomplishing great structures such as the Great Wall of China and
many temples. China had many different emperors during Ancient China times. Like nowadays
China was a great country that thrived. Many things we use now is made from ancient chinese and
they still make almost everything we own.
Ancient Greece and Ancient China had many differences but were also alike in some ways. They
were similar because the both treated woman with little or no respect. Woman had hardly if any say
and will in what they did. They are also similar for their economy. They both thrived in trade and had
many trade routes. Trade made them wealthier than ever. Though these two ancient civilization have
much in common they also were different in many ways. For example, they
The Case Of The Ontario Securities Commission And...
Background
Incorporated in 1984, Research in Motion, Canada s most successful and influential tech firm, used
to be a market leader in mobile phone industry. However, the company seems to be overtaken by a
series of deep rooted dysfunction. RIM during the past years had grown unwieldy and unorganized.
Conflicting opinions and a lack of clear direction worsened an already difficult situation. All of the
evidence is showing that the management of RIM has failed: a number of high level people left; the
market shares keep falling; product delayed; investors became angry; and an internal chaos remained
at this BlackBerry maker.
The 2006 governance reform at Rim seems not work well. There was not only the non compliance
with regulations or accounting errors, but also drastic fall of company s shares due to strategic and
operational issues. The probe of the Ontario Securities Commission and Securities Stock Exchange
Commission, along with the concern of institutional investors, especially Northwest and Ethical
investment, forced RIM to look at its leadership and reform its board structure in 2011. This paper
will assess RIM s board structure in 2011 and present some recommendations to improve RIM s
governance and board structure.
RIM s Board Structure
The board structure of Research in Motion in 2007 was not stable (Ended March 3, 2007). There
were 2 directors, 2 co CEOs James L. Balsillie and Michael Lazaridis. And one of them, Balsillie
served as Chair of the board at the
Language And Communication Impairments Are Primary...
Language and communication impairments are primary features of Autism Spectrum Disorders
(ASD) and are the some of the earliest emerging behavioral markers of ASD. Research with typically
developing populations highlights the importance of both infants and maternal gesture use in infants
early language development (Talbott and Flusberg, 2015, p.1). Investigations of infant siblings of
children with autism, who are at increased genetic risk, have shown delays in language and gesture
production during their first year of life; these children are later diagnosed with ASD. Therefore, due
to the commonness of language and gesture difficulties amongst high risk siblings and the impact of
language on functional outcomes, it is important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other infants were placed in a low risk control group (LRC) if they had at least one sibling with
typical development. The development of these reference siblings was determined by their scores
on the Social Communication Questionnaire answered by their parents. HRA infants had siblings
who scored at least 15 and LRC infants siblings scored less than 12. HRA infant siblings also met
diagnostic criteria on the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) or were diagnosed by
an expert clinician. Infants were seen at 12 and 18 months as part of a larger ongoing project. At the
12 month visit, research staff administered the Communication and Symbolic Behavior Scale
(CSBS), the Mullen Scales of Early Learning (MSEL), and infants and parents had 10 minutes of
free play with infant appropriate toys (MC). At the 18 month visit, staff ran the MSEL and the
ADOS. CSBS is a semi structured interaction between an infant and examiner designed to assess the
infant s communicative and symbolic behavior ranges; in the context of the present study, it was
used for scoring infant gesture competency. MSEL is a standardized developmental assessment for
infants from birth through 68 months that measures skills in Gross Mother and four cognitive
domains: Visual reception, Fine Motor, Expressive and Receptive Language. ADOS is a semi
structured play based interaction used to assess participants communicative and

The Inauthenticity in Credentialing
One of the biggest worries in a high school senior s mind is whether or not they will be accepted
into the program of their first choice. It has become hardly a choice in whether a high school
graduate will continue in postsecondary studies because just to be considered for a job, the
credentials that come after a name is crucial. In Jane Jacobs Credentialing Versus Educating, she
argues that since the Great Depression, obtaining a degree has become gradually more important, not
to gain an education, but to acquire its credentials that employers look for before hiring. More
people are attending postsecondary programs than a few decades ... Show more content on

People today, myself included, have accepted this criterion and consequently, from the start of
their child s high school career, parents will continuously stress the importance of achieving high
grades in their classes so that they will be accepted into a good university. In high schools, I
always heard my fellow classmates talking about their hopes of attending law school or med
school in the future. In reality, it is likely that those may not be their actual hopes and dreams, but
what they really want is a job with a good pay. In one paragraph, Jacobs recalls how her father was
employed as a doctor and because of this, during the Great Depression, he was still able to get by
despite the mass unemployment (54). Children are pressured to do well and earn promising
credentials to ensure they are hired in admirable, steady positions in the future and have a decent
income salary, such as Jacob s father. It has become more and more frequent for students in high
school to take a challenging course in a private institution, like many of my friends did, so they can
obtain a higher grade to meet requirements for a university programs that they, in truth, have no
desire to study in. Thus, some programs, such as business, have a great deal of applicants each year
and many of those who are accepted and studying in their chosen field are not
Essay On Public Speaking Anxiety
Public speaking anxiety There are many ways to help control public speaking anxiety, and it
seems that just about everybody has some methods that help them feel confident while
presenting. Some people pray beforehand or take deep breaths to get their nerves under control.
Some people even visualize the audience in their underwear. Some tactics that work for me are to
find some people in the audience that I know so that it feels like I m only talking to them and not
a large group of people or to just dress in something that makes me feel confident. Of course,
everybody knows that no matter what you do being fully prepared and rehearsed for your speech
is going to make you more confident in delivering the speech and make it sound better to the
audience. Throughout the years ,I ve experienced various times when I ve had to speak in front
of others and sometime the results were better than others. One of the first times, I can remember
speaking in front of my class was in sixth grade for a project about different counties in Arkansas.
I was assigned a small county I had never even heard of before but after a little research I found
out some interesting facts about the county that fascinated me. This caused me to be very involved
and proud of my work. When it came time to present my speech I was very prepared and excited to
share what I had found out. Through my experience I have learned that being proud of what you are
saying or the work you put into the assignment affects how
Memory And Identity In Julie Otsuka s When The Emperor...
In her novel, When the Emperor was Divine, Julie Otsuka develops the concepts of memory and
identity as they applied to Japanese Americans 70 years ago. Before WWII, the featured family saw
themselves as American rather than Japanese. Three years of internment later, they are not so sure.
Their heritage, an aspect of their identity once only present in their heirlooms and the food they ate,
had been perverted by society into a monstrosity malicious enough to justify their mass
incarceration. The disparity between the life they once lived and the life the life they lived in the
camps leaves them hollow, shells of their former selves, even when they finally return home. Thus,
with her skillful incorporation of motifs of darkness and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, the burning stares will just be the beginning of the family s mental torment; for the
next three years, not even the burning Utah sun will lift the darkness of the discord within the family
s identity.
The middle of the novel details the transgression of the family s lives from color into grayscale, a
decline paralleled by the bleaching of their identities in the dust of the day and the staining of them
in their reminiscence at night; they wear the black and white stripes of a prisoner. For instance,
family s marginalization was represented symbolically when the boy wrote his name in the dust
across the top of the table. All through the night, while he slept, more dust blew through the walls.
By morning his name was gone (64). The disappearance of the boy s name via a motif of dust is the
figurative manifestation of the idea that the world considers all the Japanese American prisoners to
be the same; the boy is just one detainee among a sea of identical enemies. Moreover, Otsuka
included another layer to that facelessness; the 4 family members are known only as the boy, the
girl, his/her father, and his/her mother, their names never mentioned. The family once had a place in
the world, and that has been stripped away from them with their individuality. However, the family
is never complacent in their predicament, with each person dealing with their predicament
differently. The boy in
