Arcangelo Corelli Research Paper
In the small town of Fusignano, Italy, on a chilly winter evening of February 17th, 1653,
Arcangelo Corelli was born to single mother Santa Raffini. She had been widowed five weeks
prior, and named the baby after his late father. Growing up, Arcangelo Corelli was raised by his
mother, alongside four older siblings. The familywas well off, but not extremely wealthy, in contrast
to claims made by the family. He began to study music, particularly the violin, locally before the
age of 10, and had moved to the city of Bologna, Italy in 1666, when he was only 13 years old. At
the time Bologna was an Italian center of music, and it is where Corelli continued to develop his
violin skills. In 1670, he was accepted into the Philharmonic Academy of Bologna
Human Fascination with the Stars
Humans have been mesmerized by the stars since the beginning of their existence. This fascination
is documented throughout history from simple drawings in the caves of Neanderthals to the great
minds of Copernicus, Galileo, and Ptolemy, leading to today s massive research institutions such
as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (better known as NASA). The concept of
time itself is credited to the understanding of the universe. Our race s vast determination to
explore space has led to the most remarkable scientific discoveries and technological
advancements. This willingness to push boundaries in notably seen in NASA s Apollo 11 mission,
where scientists were able to put a man on the moon in just eight few years. The expansion of
aeronautical and space knowledge has become increasingly relevant in recent times as
environmentalists and statisticians give forecast to the Earth s irreversible death. 80 percent of the
earth s natural forests have been destroyed and further calculations indicate that oil, the precious
black gold, will run out as early as 2060 (Boss). Conditions will only get worse because of inevitable
population growth as well; our planetwill eventually run out of space. The Earth s resources are not
infinite, therefore as the fate of the human race is contemplated, the search for a new life supporting
planet is the highest priority for space exploration. Currently, over 7 billion people populate the earth
with an average population growth
The Birdcage Essay
In analyzing the style of Emmanuel Lubezki I found that his techniques adapts to the style/needs of
the director and the movie he works on. In the movie The Birdcage, he uses a long lens glamour style
whereas, in Children of Men he takes on his famous natural lighting style with a handheld camera.
What s unique about these two styles is that he manages to show that the subjects/actors are the main
focus and they standout and look amazing whether natural or artificial, he produces natural looking
shots. Lubezki also uses techniques in camera to create the best shoot without green screens
although, when used, the lightingholdes the image together and creates believable moments.
Lubezki has two predominant styles of lighting the actors faces. One is called short lite, which is
when the shadow side of the subject s faces the camera (three fourths lighting style) and the other
style of lighting cuts right down the middle of the actors faces. We see this in A Series of
Unfortunate Events, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He works between the t2.84 but has stopped down to t5.6 or higher. Using a wide angle lens as
well as the 2 stops helps creating depth in the frames. According to wolfcrow he uses a 12
millimeter to 17 millimeter lens on a full frame DSLR Alexa G6. Allowing him to create the
intense focus shots where the actors eyes are in crisp focus. Yet he is still able to adapt his lens
techniques to suit the director s style. All in all, Emmanuel Lubezki personal techniques of shooting
creates a well known artistic mark in each of the films he works on but the never hinders with the
style which the directors are striving
The Snake Chief, By Miriam Majola
The Snake Chief is a retelling of the story passed on by Miriam Majola to a folklorist Diana
Pitcher. The Retelling of the story is set in Zululand, because that is where Pitcher heard it first.
Nandi was a very poor lady who lived with just her daughter. Her husband had passed away and
she had no sons to herd cattle for her. During the summer, Nandi and her daughter ate creamy
flowers off these trees, but when fall came around they picked umdoni berries to trade neighbors
for food. One day Nandi went to the river to pick umdoni berries so she could trade and eat. When
she got there she couldn t find any berries not even one. She then heard a loud hissing sound, and
she saw snake. The snake was wound around the branches of the umdoni trees eating all the
berries. Nandi cries out You are stealing my berries....Oh, Snake, you are stealing all my berries.
What will I have to exchange for meat if you take all the fruit? The snake stopped and slithered
down the tree to talk to Nandi. The snake then wanted something in exchange for stop eating the
berries. Nandi and the snake agree to a deal if the snake fills Nandi s basket with berries Nandi will
give the snake her daughter for one night. Once Nandi Leaves with a basket full of berries she
realizes her bad deal with the snake. She knows she can t give the snake her only daughter for a
night. She then decides to not take a direct path home. On the way homeshe tries to loose snake,
Nandi then crosses the river and goes
Symbolism Of The Birthday Party
The Birthday Party hat is a symbol known to many. It represents what is most likely the most
celebrated event in all of mankind, the Birthday. The Birthday Party hat is the perfect symbol for
the Birthday Party, not only because it is what comes to mind when a Birthday is thought of, but
because it is also filled with with colors that might remind you of your birthday party experiences.
The mascot is supposed to represent the birthdays of the voters, because the birthday party cares
about you, and wants to make America a better place for everyone. Opponents might think that
the party mascot represents the birthday party as well. Because there s not much debate on what
a birthday party hat means. It s the universal sign of a birthday, along with cake and presents,
although presets could also represent Christmas. Opponents could also say the hat represents the
birthday wish that someday, someone from this party will become president, although they most
likely will not believe in birthday wishes, therefore insulting the Birthday Party in a very
underhanded way. They might also say that the birthday party mascot means nothing at all, that it
s just a stupid symbol for a stupid party. Education is a important thing in the lives of all children,
so that they may grow up to lead good jobs, and make enough money to support themselves and
their family. This is why Education is so important to Birthday Parties, this is why we believe that
all children should have well funded schools to be educated in, so that students will be able to do
things in school that rewire a higher budget, like have computers for every student, or expanding or
renovating old school grounds. Since education is so important to the lives of children, our party
believes that the government should not change the laws around mandatory school attendance. This
is because education is very important to children; But if children are not getting educated because
they didn t have to go to school because it they didn t want to, then how will they fair later in life?
Where people are only really willing to hire people with High School education levels, but since
these children did not get the education that was provided, then they might have to get jobs

the group. I categorize this hotel as Upper upscale and upscale. In order to get a clear picture of
the hotel arrangements. I used primary and secondary method for research. In primary research I

Patient Obligations
Position Paper A tiny measure of patients deny care from the earliest starting point, having been
conveyed to the healing center without wanting to by law implementation faculty or prehospital care
suppliers (West Publishing Company , 2008). Despite the conditions under which the patient arrives,
a choice to leave the crisis office against therapeutic counsel places work force in an unbalanced
bind, constraining attendants and doctors to pick one of two choices which incorporate permitting
the patient to leave, or they can control him and compel him to acknowledge treatment. Like most
choices made in the crisis situation region, this one must be made in a flash. Picking impulsively can
have significant lawful ramifications. A doctor or attendant who permits a patient to leave rashly
welcomes a case of medicinal misbehavior. Then again, crisis office faculty who power undesirable
treatment on a hesitant patient open themselves to cases of strike, battery, and even wrongful
detainment. Another option mirrors a business which can be held at risk for the on obligation
activities of its representatives, the healing center might be named as a litigant too. Doctors and
medical attendants can t constrain treatment on a patient just on the grounds that they trust the
patient will profit by such care. This remains constant notwithstanding... Show more content on

Refusals of consideration, similar to agrees to treatment, must be educated. Crisis office staff have a
commitment to depict for a leaving patient the nature and seriousness of the patient s condition; the
nature, liabilities, and advantages of the proposed treatment; and the results of denying that
treatment. At the point when a patient shows a craving to leave without treatment, work force will
be enticed to depict the potential results in the broadest conceivable terms. This might be the
simplest methodology, yet it isn t as a matter of course the
Poldark Synopsis
Poldark s photos this week have a massive spoiler, but there s also a synopsis and some live stream
information to get to as well. Poldark is back this week with episode 4, and things appear to
improve for some and get worse for others. Of course, that s what usually happens, but this time,
we can more accurately predict everyone s fortunes with a look at both the synopsis and some of
the photos ... and without Aunt Agatha s cards. Hopefully we ll get some answers to the
questions we have. First, though, we may as well get right to the photo that s a big spoiler:

France, ladies and gentlemen, and this time he s actually embracing the action, without any hats to
serve as a disguise, either. (Maybe it s been lost in the chaos.) As an aside, Dwight is not looking
good, even before you take his being supported by Ross and Henshawe into account.... Show more

Drake joins Ross mission after Morwenna breaks with him. George jockeys for a triumph in
politics. Bad news for Morwenna and Drake, and what exactly is Ross mission ? He s not in the
fateful photo above, so presumably this is another mission instead of the trip to France. It doesn t
look like things are so dangerous in said photo, but desperate gamble makes it seem like this still
is carefully crafted to give away some and not all of what s going to happen. You win this one,
PBS and Poldark. We ll watch this episode. (Was it ever really in doubt? All of those plot points
have us very intrigued, and we re invested in what different character turns will show up this week
that we might have to suss out after the fact.) Date: Sunday, Oct. 22 Start Time: 9 p.m. ET TV

Jazz Popularity
Jazz, like most other music genres, evolves as time passes, so it is informative to see how jazz and
the jazz audience has changed throughout the decades. Predictions made about jazz music s future
in a 1964 Playboy article are finally answered in a 2008 survey from the National Endowment for
the Arts.
One of the biggest changes seen in the jazz community is its popularity. African American artists,
Cannonball Adderley, Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, George Russell, and two white critics,
Ralph Gleason and Nat Hentoff were questioned about their views on whether jazz popularity
would increase or not. In the Playboy interview, Gleason remained optimistic about jazz s
popularity, while Russell and Schuller believed that jazz would be on the decline in the next few
decades ( A Jazz Summit Meeting 238). As it turns out, Russell and Schuller were correct in their
prediction that jazz popularity would decrease. In the 2008 survey, the number of adults who
attended jazz concerts dropped from eleven to eight percent from 2002 to 2008 ( Now Who
Listens to Jazz? 413). Reasons behind jazz s decline in popularity have often been speculated with
one such reason being that new jazz styles like bebop, free jazz, and smooth jazz pushed ... Show

While African Americans are still more likely to listen to jazz, overall, the survey found that jazz
was more popular among older audiences from ages 45 through 64 ( Now Who Listens to Jazz?
413). Compared to the audiences in the 1920s through 1950s, the jazz audiences were usually teens
and young adults. Paired with the decrease in jazz popularity, it is possible that the same generation
that embraced jazz still enjoys listening to it, while the current generation of music listeners aren t as
passionate about jazz. Once again, these survey findings contrast against Gleason s more optimistic
predictions and align more with the views of Mingus, Mulligan and
Maistre In Canterbury Tales
The lack of literacy and the church s tremendous power during the Middle Ages resulted in a chain
of being ; the order was established by the church and only emphasized the patriarchal society of the
time. During the late fourteenth century, Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales, a collection of
individual stories that included The Wifeof Bath. The last stanza of The Wife of Bath s Prologue
culminates the Wife s argument that the concept of maistre should rest in the hands of the female
partner in order to balance the unequal footing created by the chain of being.
The concept of maistre is defined as the sovereignty in a marriage, that is, whichever partner has the
maistre has the power in a union. The passage takes place after the confrontation between the Wife
of Bath and her fifth husband, Janekin. After such a brutal physical fight, they reconcile at last with
muchel care and wo (817). Chaucer s use of the word care characterizes the actions of the two as
timid and tender; the two tip toe around the other. The Wife loves Janekin so much that she
appointed him maister of my body and of my good, (320) which granted him full maistre. Janekin
reinforced his power over his wife by refraining from satisfying her sexual desires. After suffering
through Janekin s control, He yaf me al the bridel in myn hand, (819) the Wife receives the
metaphorical reins of their marriage back. The governance of hous and land (820) also symbolize
the transfer of power from
Compare And Contrast The Knight s Tale And The Wife Of Bath
In the fourteen hundreds women were seen differently by men than now a days. Women were
viewed as a price or as an honor. Men would do crazy things in order to have that women they
desire in their power. They would give up their lives for these special women who felt like queens
around the men. Since womanwere always being treated as a treasure, they started getting used and
expected everything from men. In the Knight s tale and The Wife of Bath s Tale by Geoffrey
Chaucer describe how these things happened back then 1400 s. Both of these tales are similar of
how womenwould act with men.

Back then in the 1400 s some girls acted differently by having more respect to themselves, but some
didn t. Some girls liked going out there to have some pleasure. In the Knight s Tale there this
beautiful girl named Jocelyn who is very flirty with the men that comments, Better a silly girl with a
flower than a silly boy with a horse and a stick. Jocelyn represents herself frisky by notifying
William that she wanted him to spent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the situation is in between a woman and two men, and both of the men want her, then there is
going to be serious problems. In the Knight s Tale two men are placed in the same situation after
they fell in love on the first sight. The two guys are faced in war to determine who wins the love
of the young and beautiful girl. Before the war one of the contestant states, My pride is the only
thing that they can t take from me. Men are very prideful of who they are in society, and that is
why he won t take any chance of loosing this intense fight. By winning something you have fought
for, gives you the honor to show it off out in public. That s what one of the contestant was going to
do, but he died by a natural cause right after he had won the war. He was going to get the privilege
to show her off, but he couldn t after all of that
