KSRTC BUS STAND CLEANING
27/07/2023

The NSS volunteers organized a Bus stand cleaning programme on 27th September
2023.The programme was conducted at the KSRTC Bus stand ,Attingal.Our honourable
principal Dr.Vrinda.V.Nair inaugurated the programme.Volunteers and faculties gathered
together to participate in the cleaning program.Cleaning was divided into different sections
and each section was assigned to clean buses and surroundings. The NSS volunteers
cleaned the inside of the buses in the stand and made the exteriors clean by washing it.
Students enthusiastically collected plastic wastes, bottles and dry leaves spread over the
surrounding areas. The volunteers gathered all the waste and collected it in the trash bins
placed inside the bus stand. The whole cleaning drive was quite inspiring and motivating for
the natives.The programme was guided by the NSS programme officers.
NSS INDUCTION PROGRAM REPORT

NSS Induction Programme Report (September 11-15)

The NSS Induction Programme held from September 11 to 15 aimed to integrate new members into
the National Service Scheme (NSS) through a series of activities, with a focus on fostering
camaraderie and team spirit.

The ice-breaking sessions played a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
These sessions were strategically designed to encourage participants to interact, share experiences,
and build connections. Activities such as group discussions, name games, and team-building
exercises provided a platform for the newcomers to get to know each other, fostering a sense of
unity.

Highlights of Ice Breaking Sessions:


1. *Name Games:* Participants engaged in games that involved learning each other's names in a
fun and interactive manner. This helped break initial barriers and encouraged open communication.

2. *Group Discussions:* Small group discussions allowed participants to share their backgrounds,
interests, and expectations from the NSS. This facilitated a deeper understanding of each other and
promoted diversity within the group.

3. *Team-building Exercises:* Collaborative activities were organized to promote teamwork and


problem-solving skills. These exercises not only encouraged interaction but also instilled a sense of
collective responsibility among the participants.

The ice-breaking sessions successfully achieved the following outcomes:

1. *Increased Comfort Level:* Participants reported feeling more comfortable and connected with
their peers after the ice-breaking sessions.

2. *Enhanced Communication:* The interactive nature of the activities improved communication


skills among participants, fostering an environment where everyone felt heard and understood.

3. *Established a Positive Tone:* The positive atmosphere created during the ice-breaking sessions
set the tone for the entire NSS Induction Programme, contributing to a sense of belonging among
the new members.

The ice-breaking sessions during the NSS Induction Programme were instrumental in creating a
foundation of camaraderie and mutual understanding among participants. These sessions not only
facilitated a smooth integration of new members but also contributed to the overall success of the
programme by fostering a supportive and inclusive community within the NSS.
ORIENTATION CLASS [03/10/2023]
‘MIND FIRST- A talk on emotional intelligence in future
jobs and relationships ’ - An orientation programme was
organized on 3rd October 2023 for the NSS volunteers. The
programme commenced with a welcome note by Mrs.Vani,
program officer and the session was handled by Mr.Sangeeth
Sebastian, gender and sexuality expert & founder of VVOX .
The speaker assured to have an interactive session with the
volunteers. Each one was able to express theirown views on
gender equality and the importance of emotional
intelligence in the field of engineering. The speaker
emphazised on the importance of EQ. Moreover he briefly
describes about the 5 characteristics of emotional
intelligence - self awareness, self regulation, motivation,
empathy and social skills. The programme ended up with a
positive feedback session. The session helped volunteers to
gain an honest awareness on the importance of emotional
intelligence and develop an overall emotional wellbeing.

Keraleeyam 2023, a cultural celebration


in Kerala, began on November 1 with the
presence of legendary actors Mohanlal,
Mammootty, and Kamal Haasan. The
event, attended by film personalities and
respected individuals from various fields,
aims to showcase Kerala's rich cultural
heritage through music, dance, art, and
other forms of expression. Chief Minister
Pinarayi Vijayan emphasized the festival's
purpose to celebrate unity and the diverse
traditions that define Kerala's cultural
identity.

As a part of Keraleeyam ,NSS volunteers


were divided into groups and are
assigned duties at Kanakakunnu
Thiruvananthapuram. Volunteers play an
essential role in providing a positive
experience for spectators, managing
traffic, and overseeing fairs, seminars,
cultural events, and other key areas. The
programme helped the volunteers to
interact with various sections of the
society and render services. Volunteering
helps to build their resilience and
enhance their knowledge base and gain a
sense of responsibility for their own
community.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP
30-11-2023
The NSS unit of College Of Engineering, Attingal organized a
blood donation camp in collaboration with blood bank of
Government Thaluk Hospital Chirayinkeezhu, on 30th
November 2023. The camp began at 09.00 a.m. with a short
inaugural function.The camp was inaugurated by
Mr.Sreejith,HOD Electrical Dept. Besides volunteers, other
students, teaching and non teaching staffs of the college also
participated in the camp by donating blood. The camp lasted
till 3pm.At the end, the doctor expressed her gratitude to the
NSS unit of the college for its continuous endeavor in this
regard. She also stressed on the growing need of blood in the
state and commended the young volunteers for their noble
act.

‭of‬ ‭LED‬ ‭bulb.LED‬ ‭bulb‬ ‭is‬ ‭a‬ ‭part‬ ‭if‬ ‭conserving‬ ‭more‬ ‭energy‬ ‭so‬ ‭it‬ ‭give‬ ‭to‬

VEHICLE SURVEY

REPORT
30 January 2024

NATPAC Vehicle survey was conducted for


autorickshawas,taxis,three Wheeler vehicles, lorries, trucks, and
trailers. This survey was conducted on attingal on 30/01/24 by unit
330 and 612.The volunteers get to the resting stations of consecutive
vehicle stands. They interact with them and fill out the question from
the survey.Survey was carried out by the guidance of program
officers

NSS CAMP DAY-2


(23/03/2024)

The second day of the NSS camp at the College of Engineers started at 9
am with a morning assembly. The morning assembly was presented by the
team of Akhil Anilkumar, the program committee for the day. College
Principal Mrs. Vrindha V Nair addressed the gathering. After that at exactly
9:30 all the volunteers and program officers reached the Anganwadi and
cleaned the Anganwadi and its surroundings. Anganwadi paint was applied
and mural painting started.After that, we reached the Attingal Government
College where the camp was held at 1 o'clock and had lunch. At 2 o'clock
Mr. Thomas Wilson, the coordinator of the "Kaaval" project working under
the Department of Women and Child Development, took a class on
'Leadership and Team building'. He was able to convey the ideas to the
volunteers in a very interesting way. After finishing the class at 4 o'clock we
had tea. After that cultural activities of volunteers were held from 6 pm to 7
pm.After dinner at 8 o'clock, we reached back to the college campus.

DISHA - NSS CAMP DAY 4


25/03/2024

The volunteers woke up at 5am in the morning. The day started with
yoga practice at 6am. Sreejith sir (HOD Electrical dept) conducted
yoga and meditation. Sooryanamaskaram was demonstrated and the
volunteers were trained. The morning assembly was conducted at
7am by Vaishnav and team (programme committe). They have
presesented the report of the previous day and readout the camp
newspaper. After the breakfast, the volunteers and program officers
reached Indira park near Govt Boys Higher Secondary School,
Attingal at 9am for the sneharamam project. Volunteers organized a
cleaning drive within the park premises and planted new saplings for
setting a new garden. Sneharamam project thereby emphazised the
importance of conserving nature as well as maintaining a clean
environment for health and wellbeing. At 1pm ,the volunteers had their
lunch at Govt College,Attingal. An awareness class was arranged
from 2 to 4pm on the topic “Prevention of drug abuse and addiction”.
The session was handled by Shri Radhakrishnan sir (Excise
officer).The awareness class on drug abuse was successful in raising
awareness and educating volunteers about the risks and
consequences of drug abuse. Cultural activities of volunteers were
held from 6 to 7pm.After dinner at 8pm, the volunteers reached back
to the college campus.

NSS CAMP DAY 5

The 5th day of NSS camp at the College of Engineering Attingal started at 7 am
with yoga session. The morning assembly was started at 8 AM and presented by
the team of Sreenidhi ,the programme committee for the day.Vice programme
officer Mr Salu M.S gave the feedback of the previous camp day. After that
exactly at 9:30 all the volunteers and programme officers gathered at
Government College Attingal for attending the class about Financial Literacy. At
10 o’clock all the volunteers started to clean the campus of Government College
Attingal and had done the maintanence work. After finishing the work at 1 o’clock
we had lunch. At 2 o’clock Mr Premjith Sureshbabu, the theatre practitioner took
a class on the topic of applied drama.He was able to convey the ideas to the
volunteers in very interesting ways. After finishing the class at 4 o’ clock we had
tea. After that campfire and cultural activities were held from 6 pm to 8 pm at
college of engineering Attingal .The college principal Mrs Vrindha V Nair’s
attendance added a touch of elegance to the campfire event, making it even
more enchanting. After the cultural activities we had lunch at 8 o’clock.
NSS CAMP REPORT: DAY 6
The sixth day of nss camp started with an assembly from
akash and team. Later we had our breakfast from attingal
Government College. Later we conducted a survey on road
safety by splitting our volunteers into a group of 2.one group
managed to cover attingal to mamam road and other group
covered attingal to lms junction. After that we had lunch by
the time of 1:00 pm. At evening we had a class on the topic
"road safety “by rto dept. Later we had an interaction with
the nss program coordinator dr. Arun Kumar sir. Later we had
dinner and ended our day with a movie night.
