SCREEN-LESS DISPLAY
TECHNOLOGY
MODEL-VIEW
The protagonist uses a screen less
display to perform operations.
It looks like it’s some out of the
world graphics right?
It’s what called “Screen less
display”.
The screen less display technology
is used to transfer or display
information without using a
physical screen.
INTRODUCTION:
• Screen-less display is the present evolving technology in the field of
computer enchanced technologies.
• It is going to be the one of the greatest technological development in
the coming future years.
• Development work still going on this new emerging technology which
can change the whole spectacular view of screenless displays.
What is Screen-less Technology?
Screenless display technology is a new technology that allows users to
display and transmit data without a screen or projector.
Screenless displays involve projecting images directly onto the retina
without using screens.
There are three main types:
• Visual Image
• Retinal Display
• Retina
• Synaptic Interfaces
VISUAL IMAGE:
It is a type of display that allows
human eye to perceive an image
without the use of a screen.
The image is formed in the air by
reflecting by light off an
intermediate object, such as
hologram , LCD panel and etc
Examples include: Heads-up
displays, virtual retinal displays,
virtual reality goggles.
RETINAL DIRECT:
A retinal direct display, also known as as virtual
retinal display (VRD), is a screen less display that
projects images directly on to the retina of the
viewer.
It uses low – energy laser to scan modulated
light on to the retina ,creating a virtual image.
The viewer perceives the image as if they are
standing in front of a high – resolution or
projector.
It enhances:
• High brightness
• Large colour
• High resolution
• Good quality resolution
SYNAPTIC INTERFACE:
It is a type of screen less display that
transmits visual information directly to the
brain through the optic nerve , without using
light.
It uses electrical impulses instead of light.
It helps :
• To view images that are more complex
and coordinated than the eyes can
produce.
• It avoids the need of heavy hardware.
• It provides high levels of privacy.
• It also helps the blind people to view the
image.
TECHNICAL-BACKGROUND
• First screenless display is used in goggle glass sits on the facelike a
pair of glasses and on one eye it has a block of glass that allows you
to see augmented reality.
• Images can be displayed right in front of your eye, as well as text and
information about objects and places that are in front of you.
Benefits and Effects?

➢ Screenless displays are light-weight
and portable & also can project 3D ➢The image is only focused if the

HOW THEY WORK?
• It displays by transmitting the signals directly into the brain through
the optic nerve. There are no light involved, basically electrical
impulses. This method is tested on horseshoe crabs by recording
nerve images. Therefore, furthering the neural code transmitted to
the brain by the optic nerve.
• Screenless displays have several potential benefits, including: Lower
power use, Higher resolution, Greater portability, and Ability to
present 3D images.
• Here, it also includes the types of screenless technology:
Visual image displays, Visual retinal displays and Synaptic interfaces
HOLOGRAMS:
• A hologram is the most common example of visual image screenless
display
• Holography— is a technique that allows the light scattered from an
object to be recorded and later reconstructed so that it appears as if
the object is in the same position relative to the recording medium as
it was when recorded.
• The most common example of Visual Image screenless display is a
hologram. In these cases, light is reflected off some intermediate
object (hologram, LCD panel, or cockpit window) before it reaches the
retina.
COMPANIES:
• Here are some companies that are involved in screenless display
technology:
• There are more than 15+ companies involved in screenless display
industry.
• Few examples here as well
• Microsoft, Sony, Google, Toshiba corporation, BAE systems, Facebook
technologies and etc…
FUTURE SCOPE:
• The future of screenless displays is promising, with the potential
to transform user interfaces, improve accessibility, and create immersive
experiences.
• The screenless display market size is forecast to increase by USD 14.87
billion at a CAGR of 46.02% between 2023 and 2028. The market is
experiencing significant advancements in visual display technology, with a
focus on next-generation holographic solutions and 3D projection.
• May be in the future the world may be dominated with the screen less
display technologies and this enriches the world of technological
empowerment in the field of the computer technology. Screenless displays
promises the cost-effective aspect and also brighter future in the computer
technology.
APPLICATIONS:
• Medical field: Physicians can use virtual X-rays to view infected areas
during surgery.
• Manufacturing: Virtual blueprints can be used to identify part
placement and operation information.
• Transportation: Virtual maps can be projected to provide reference
state, train characteristics, and craft instrumentation.
• Mobile Technology: Screenless laptops can be a portable solution when
connected to CRT or fixed LCD monitors.
• Night vision technology: Allows humans to see in the dark.
• Virtual reality: Images are projected directly onto the user.
THE CONCLUSION:
• This technology would bring about the revolution in the field
of displays and monitors that are costly, huge and are proven
difficult to manage the power requirements and constraints.
It is also the futuristic technological innovation.
• The future technologies makes our life even better for the
development of mankind in all aspects of life.
